Jocelyn doesn't manage to doge given her concentration on the coins, but reacts quickly and cuts/burns the tenticle with her Flame Jet.

Mario drops to a knee, left hand on the floor, and begins to vomit.

Nodwin's bolt and Mario's arrow strike the large thing in the water.  Frustrated, the creature throws Clarence accross the room;he takes 4 pts crushing before DR.

"Bro -- ulp! -- Brodak!  Chop -- urp!"

Mario continues to fight the retching as he readies his ordinary arrow.

The flame jet would have hit if the monster hadn’t thrown Clarence…

With Clarence free, she moves away togather hersel and recover a little.
