In what way are the signs "peculiar"?

Kichiro stoped at one of the stall to see that they had for sale.

OOC: What seems peculiar about the signs?  The words? Language? The vendor?

They are mostly selling faire foods- fried dough, kebabs, hand pies and honeyed puffed grain, along with barley and cider spirits to drink.

the signs are in Aralaise and advertise unusual sights; feats of strength, games of chance, fortune telling, dancers, and anamolies of nature...

"Everything here is most likely overpriced.  And for anomalies of nature, we have our own."  Chou-Zhen's voice is at a level intended for the immediate group.

"Agreed.", Kichiro said.   They still had to see someone.

Saishi makes some attempt to restrain his pet dog, who is starting to growl as an expression of Saishi's displeasure...but they keep moving.

"She was a gift from my master, Sakemoko, and is beyond price."

"Tis a pity. If you ever change your mind..."

We continue on, restraining the pet dog as needed...

Kichiro followed the others.  He kept an eye on the suspicious carnies until they were out of sight.

"It is good to return to my home city once more.  It seems we have been away for years, though it has only been a month."

"Hardly feels like home to me. But I can understand your thoughts..."

Ales seeks out Sakemoko to give a report.

"When we finally finish this task for Lord Sakemoko, we might have a chance for a couple days of rest.", Kichiro replied.

"Perhaps so.  The Omo has been generous with us in the past, when there was no emergency.  As I told the man at the faire, Guai Ma was a gift from him -- or perhaps from my father, via our Lord.  He has provided healing, when possible, gifted me this armor, and most importantly offered his trust that I would serve him well."

You are greeted at the compound by the familiar scarred ashigaru and by Chung Wang and Xu, who greet you and Miko and guide neko servants to help with the ox carts.

Chou-Zhen will follow Ales, to give his own report in turn, emphasizing the progress at the village (yokai being captured, slain, driven away, or recruited to become productive villagers, "Lazy eta" becoming recognized hunters and defenders, Ming Sa gaining magic, etc.) more than the deposition of Baron Pequenaud.
