Re: Below the Winecellars

In reply to Daphne (msg # 8):

While the casting is going on, Voorland brings in his supplies with Ronhnie,
including a half dozen of wrought iron gates, carried over to the site
by a  massive ogress named 'Elga the Henormous, who does porting work in town.
Unfortunately, she is too large to fit through the main doors upstairs, and
Could never squeeze through the floor gate. She also carried over a ladder
and a block and tackle rig, which Voorland mounts over the trapdoor using his
Earth magic to anchor a hanging hook in the ceiling. He will now be able to
safely lower and raise his chests of alchemical earth and the gates with
little difficulty.

Petyr Goodfellow:
"So, what do we expect to see down here?"

"Troll archers seem to be the biggest problem from what I've heard."

Looking at Voorland's stuff.

"Are we building an enclosure once we're down there?"

"Troll archers, huh?  Well, then I suppose I will want to aim a bit, then."

Petyr chuckles.

In reply to Molag Anders (msg # 13):

"It's not just the archers, there be troll wife witches an at least one
of the ogre size trolls, ate through one o my doors. That's why all of these
be iron. Watch for the witches, gave us a divil of a time making the others
fireproof. I brought a few vials of aqua regia to do them right, but with so
many, I'll save those for the witches and great trolls."

Re: Below the Winecellars

In reply to Molag Anders (msg # 13):

While recovering after the last creation, Christine recalls the different types of trolls.

"Whilst troll archers are most common, it is the spell-casting she trolls that present the biggest problems. The fire elementals can be directed to deal with the archers, but the she-trolls can cast fire resistance. As there are some trolls that regenerate very quickly, that cam be a very nasty combination. Archers would be best dealing with the she trolls."

Turning to the fire elementals, she directs them to follow others orders unless she directs otherwise.

"Before we descend, I will say a prayer so that Sethygg will watch over this dangerous task."

I slowly walk around everyone in a serpentine pattern praying out loud (in Elvish) to the great healing serpent Sethygg.

"Yes, Sethygg.  He is the god of Healing.  He is the great serpent whose healing touch reaches deep in your flesh and consumes the malignancies of pain and injury."

I tap the symbol on my tabbard, image of a serpent coiling back and consuming itself.

Not looking at Christine directly, I respond "I'm no snake."

My smile falters.  As if the cheeky comment was, for a moment, hurtful or offensive.

Recovering quickly, I finish my prayer in Aralaise with "May our quest be educational and" A quick wink at Petyr "fruitful."

Re: Below the Winecellars

In reply to Christine Bjorn (msg # 23):

A warm glow rises from below, from the three elementals. Voorland unlocks
the gate and lowers the ladder, latching the it to the gate's hinge, in such a way that it will remain stable. He turns a key in it, locking it in place.
 "Down the hatch!"

I do a quick gear check.  Axe, Shield, pack.  Glance around at everyone.

In reply to Dareos Madrigar (msg # 30):

Daphne and Petyr float lightly down, with Cloud fluttering along. Haskell
in his layered leather and steel armor follows on the ladder, and Molag
descends behind him. Three fire elementals circle the group, illuminating
a large rectangular room. There are six archways, one of which has a battered
looking bronze gate. There is no sign of the bodies left behind.

In reply to Narrator (msg # 31):

Christine joins the group in the room.

"I would like to recover the energy I used with the walk on air spells. While I do, think we should send 2 of the fire elementals out, one down each corridor, with someone backing each one of them up, to get a plan of what is beyond these doors."

She moves over to a wall and begins recovering again.

In reply to Petyr Goodfellow (msg # 34):

The fire elelmentals have been circling the room, but had not yet left.

To the south, there is one somewhat battered bronze gate, all of the other entrances are unblocked. The room is otherwise empty, except for char marks.

Ooc: cleaned up map to be posted tomorrow; not at my pc
