The Northport Adventurer's Guild

Entering the guild, near the intersection of the Red light, merchant and
artisinal districts, you encounter the burly Scottsman sitting at his desk
With the old Rogues' guild sign,
Anything that isn't nailed down is mine, anything I can pry up isn't
Nailed down.

To the side of McCain, who will check the serial number on your tin badge
against his ledger to be certain of your membership, is another sign:
All weapons larger than a knife must be checked or peacebonded

Beyond the sign, is the entrance to the main guild hall, where you can also
see a dozen halberdiers waiting to enforce the second sign.

Re: The Northport Adventurer's Guild

Stepping through the doorway, I approach the burly human.  My face dominated by a wide smile.
Hello sir.  I'd like to go inside.  I'm looking for a friend and also seeking work.
I hand him my axe and shield and head into the main hall.

The Scotsman gives you the eye as he signs you in, checks your weapons, and
Passes you a metal chit for them. Looking at your unusually broad smile
And tentacled hands, he avoids making direct contact with them.

I'll look around for familiar faces.  If I make eye contact with anyone, I'll greet them with a smile and gentle nod.

Once inside, I'll find a place to sit, resting my pack and helmet in the seat next to me.

In one corner is a petite elf, with a rather large muscular guard, talking with a one-armed woman. There are other characters around her.

"So, is Haskell coming with us on the return? I know he has been hurt, but we will need him, and need him patched up...same for Molag."

Re: The Northport Adventurer's Guild

I stand, leaving my gear behind, and approach with a very peaceful gait.
I'm dressed neck to toe in leather armor that's seen some wear and has been recently mended.
My pointed ears and fair skin would tell you I'm an elf.  My serpent-like eyes and tentacled fingers say otherwise.
A jeweled torc wraps around my neck, carved in the form of a snake swallowing it's own tail.

I apologize for being forward, but I couldn't help overhearing your conversation.

I bow my head and close my eyes for a second.  Opening them and raising my head as I speak.

I am Dareos Madrigar.  Cleric of the Order of Sethygg and I would like to offer you my services.

"We are fighting trolls, many of them with bows and attacking from many directions. If they were not supported by mages casting resist fire, they would pose a much less serious threat. Can you handle yourself in such situations?"

"I am more than capable as a healer and... surgeon."

I glance at the bodyguard for the first time and then back to the blue-haired woman.

"And I can hold my own in a fight."

Re: The Northport Adventurer's Guild

A stranger approached Christine.

"Hello there," said a female faun. "My name is Daphne. I hear you're in need of a healer. While I haven't the skill myself, Lord Mercury has granted me a wonderful friend and fellow servitor who has exceptional healing ability. Allow me to introduce you to Cloud."

"Hello," said a pixie. He perched himself on her shoulder. "We are looking for some work, if you'll have us. I can take care of all your wounds."

"And I have a great deal of ranged capability, the bow being my specialty," said Daphne.

In reply to Dareos (msg # 8):

"Excellent, then! With two of you, and the three fighters, including my wonderful friend Suzanne here, we should be able to last much better. As I have just mentioned, we expect to be facing trolls with bows and supported by mages. I have the spells, but if you are able to restore energy as well as health, I would say we will have plenty of work for both of you.

Shall we ll go and discuss terms of the contract now with our employer?

I glance at the new arrivals.

"I am pleased to meet you.  I'm Dareos Madrigar of the Order of Sethygg."

My eyes linger on the faun for a moment before I shift back to addressing the entire group.

"A friend of mine may have passed here recently.  Perhaps some of you met him.  He's a scout and archer named Petyr."

After Christine mentions discussing the contract.

"Of course.  Let's meet your employer."

I retrieve my pack and helm and wait for her to lead.

lower levels, we'd be lucky if he doesn't charge us entry, so we need to make
a profit on this venture."

"I entirely agree. But unless we live to carry the loot out, it defeats the purpose. Hence, a couple of healers will make the venture more profitable for all. In that vein, Molag, Haskell and Szuzanne, please meet Daphne, Dareos and Cloud.

If DuClair  wants to use the lower cellars, then he is going to have to pay us to clear it. Else, I suggest we just use it as an entrance...and perhaps set up camp down there in future! So first, let's ask him!
