Yes.  I don't have the strength to carry the scale mail and still get around well, but I think I'm a more versatile wizard than he was.

I think the lightning was more of a manifestation of his particular chi usage, or at least some aspect...Squire plus Monk plus 50pt wizard lens?

Re: Role call

The Storms were masters of elemental magic. All I really remember about them. I thought of them like Wu Jen from DnD's Oriental Adventures.

Elementalist (air/lightning) with a monk lens?

Re: Role call

In reply to Jin (msg # 948):

Going by the armor I would use squire as a base; monk because they fed chi energy to the two green eyed women to allow them to levitate; definitely elemental magic. I would probabluy throw in air infused as well.

I also think Victor Wong's character was almost purely a wu jen. I bought the pdf of OA not too long ago. :)

From what I've read, Chris is Christine's Golem (Ally?), and her faithful servant.

Re: Role call

Yeah, but does he look like a golem, and was he at the meeting and thus approved for the trip? Or is he just some dude that showed up as we were leaving?

I need to know how to react to his sudden presence.

Re: Role call

Azrael:

Ah, yeah, I get that.  From my reading of Winecellars... I think he looks like a Golem, like he is made of Clay.

I have a little golem
I made it out of clay
And when it’s dry and ready
Oh golem, I shall play

Oh, golem, golem, golem
I made you out of clay
And when you’re dry and ready
Oh golem we shall play

Oh, golem, golem, golem
I made you out of wood
And when you are all ready
I’ll play you when I could

Oh, golem, golem, golem
I made you out of glass
And when you are all ready
I’ll play you on the grass

Oh, golem, golem, golem
I made you out of gold
And when you are all ready
I’ll play you in the cold

Huh.  I never got the sexual connotations in that song before...

Or more accurately for Christine:

I have a fire elemental
I made it of my will
And when it’s bright and ready
Oh the trolls that we shall kill!

Oh, Flambe, Smoky, Toasty
I made you of my will
And when you’re hot and ready
All the things that we shall kill...

Chriiiistiiiiiinnnne what's the deal with Chris?

Is he obviously a golem?

Was he at the meeting?

Did he just show up at random without being accepted on the mission?

Does he get a share of the loot?

What's the deal?

Chris was there at the meeting. What is obvious is in his character description. He never talks, and is almost always with her so she speaks for him. She usually asks for a half share for him, if asked.

I do like the poems, though! Sounds just like her!

Observing that since you post for him, not as him (since October), it wouldn't occur to me that he'd have a separate character entry, and the list is so long that it's not that obvious..

I would not want it obvious he is not a separate entity! :D

Not such a cheap way for an Ally, given she also had to learn the spells to create him! But he works well to counter some her more glaring weaknesses.

So... like 2 exp worth of spells? (Enchant and Golem being the only useless ones on that prereq chain)

// time passes while I flip through GURPS Magic 4th ed //

Nevermind.  "Cheap" comment withdrawn.  At 10 points of Signature Gear and 2 points of spells, he's on par with what a similar Henchman Ally would run.

Gah.  I see why he'd be done as Sig Gear, as an Ally he'd be like 4 points (being a '0' point character)... and that almost feels like overcharging!  But at the same time it's a potent ... Ally worth more than 4 points...

Sigh.  Sometimes I hate the way some Disads are priced...  and stacked... and layered in templates.

But he works well to counter some her more glaring weaknesses.

That's why Jareth hired a pair of Henchmen.  ;)
