Johan meets them and starts organizing the group, waiting on the others to show up.

Here we have to lower ourselves down to the level below... Gorgath had some minor issues with that if I recall...

 a gold-tone admin guild badges  approaches.

"Stark, right? I'm Mythos, chief trapsetter for the
Guild. Rigo has taken an interest  in your venture and sent
me to help lower your gear safely."

She looks at Mythos "So how do you propose getting us down? I do have a levitation spell I can use on some people."

Gorgath chuckles, "No problem. Rope. Lots of rope."

With that the ogre pats the huge length of rope on his shoulders.

reinforcing the block and tackle, maybe adding in a
stabilizer, and setting up for a platform lift. For now, I
can help with a cargo net with a guide cable for safe

Your approach to the hole (jumpung the gun, some of you)
through the undercroft is a bit different the wet cave you
had to climb up now has a smooth rampway bridging accross,
the dead slorn and numerous rocks are pulled to the side and
beams bace the ceiling. Halfway there is a spiked bronze gate
 that lowers like a drawbridgem operated by kobokds, and
beyond that  is the corridor with the entrance to the well.
Two guild dwarves are building a framework  around the
entrance and nod a greeting as you arrive. Sorsha leaps in
without a light source as Mythos helps Gorgath thread his
hauser through the pulley.

Rush and Darg wait just out of reach of Gorgath.

Sorsha moves over to the side away from the voice, wanting to get out of the way where people will be landing. "Come on, speak in something I understand" [Private to GM: Can she figure out what the language is?]

Gorgoth pays no heed to the creaking and the groaning of the rope he's attached to as it slowly lowers him down. The fall would hurt is all his mind can fathom.

The voices below drift up to him, one from Sorsha and the other somewhat familiar.

"Sound like troll. Is it troll?"

Without waiting he answers his own question.

"Sound like troll."

"Aye laddie, sounds like troll." Aoife says as she follows Gorgath down.

"So do trolls speak anything beyond troll?" she asks loudly

A squinting troll steps into the light. He is wearing greenish leather armor, and has a bow at his shoulder, and knives and axes at his belt.

Gorgath arrives at the bottom and gives a nod to Fenric as he disengages himself from his harness.

Gorgath emphasizes the last word with an overly obvious wink.

Looking over the side on hearing voices in the quiet before the bullies and sheaves go back to work, Johan notes a troll has appeared and is talking with Gorgath.
OK  we have made contact so lets get the trade goods moving on this load if we can... hopefully Svetie isn't far...

The great doors open, revealing a darken chamber with many
trolls within. Most stand a span short of six feet, with
greenish skin in a variety of shades, with large black eyes
and longish noses and sharp teeth. The wear greenish leather,
 and many carry long knives. A wizened, grey haired woman with a gnarled staff is central amongst them, and the trolls
 part to give her a clear path forward.

Rushagorn opens the crates with the aid of Darg and a
crowbar, and presents Angrid with a few bolts of cloth in
lurid colors, a wheel or two of cheese,a few loaves of bread,
 a side of bacon, a skein of wool, and a few bottles of wine,
 along with some glassware  packed in rags and a selection of
 knives presented in a box. Angrid inquires about some of it in her accented elven, and Mischa steps in to translate.

Sorsha does help with explaining what it is and for something like bacon, where it came from, not knowing if the trolls have issues with any of it.

Sorsha starts creating a spell of Explosive Lightning, she figures that will light up the place.

Gorgath moves to the front, his weapon in hand and his eyes well-equipped for the dark, scanning the scene before him.

Johan Has his shield up and axe out as they approach the battle... he can see, but not so well...

The passage opens into a space with a sense of vastness to
it. A crowd of trolls, including archers, is battling three
hulking masses surmounted by whirling lights that throb in
Time with the odd keening sounds.
One of the things, three yards high and just as long siezes a
troll from the front lines with its four tentacles  and bites
 off its head!

Johan pushes forward and attempts to strike off a tentacle...

Sorsha casts the Explosive lighting at the middle creature but totally misses as she tries to dodge a tentacle.

Melchizadek fires his light at one of the blobs' torsos.

Stark slices through one of the tentacles, causing clear
mucus to spurt from the stump. The creatureroars at him and surges forward.

Sorsha's  ball of lightning flies past, detonating at dome distance against a stalactite, briefly illuminating some of the huge space. Waterfalls cascade in the distance, and a dozen or more of these things are scaling the far walls.

Melchizidek's  blast of light strikes one in the torso, and lights up the crowd, causing most of the trolls to wince at the brightness.

Gorgath moves closer to the trio of creatures before unleashing a series of attacks.  Or at least the ogre attempts to. Instead the big weapon spins out of his hands and drops to the ground. Gotgath looks down to the weapon and then at the creatures, "Problem."

"Problem indeed me laddie. Lets speed things up."
Aoife casts Great Haste on Gorgath and backs up behind the tall folk.

Melchizidek's  sunbolt  strikes home!

OOC: crit for stark is 6 or less, Melchizidek only hit because the SM modifier of +2 helped cancell the range-3 penalty

Seeing the light bothered the trolls, Melchizedek tries a different approach, casting another spell directly on the nearest creature.

Gorgath squats down do the ground and pulls his weapon into his hand. A blink of the eye and he stands up with his weapon at the ready.

OOC: 1st maneuver: Crouch, Ready weapon; 2nd maneuver: Stand, Ready weapon

Stark lets momentum bring his axe up and around... he brings it down to cut from the top of the creature to as deep as he can get it ... he hopes this will dispatch it.

The slugbeast sprays slime from the powerful overhead swing,
And the creature convulses.
The second one's keening seems to have affected one of the
trolls in front of it,and it stands still as the creature wraps  its tentacles  around it.

Gorgath engages the creature that has the troll captured, turning into a blur as he attacks.

The Doomrazor flashes several times and the pit creature
Collapses into a pile of gelid chunks, the stunned  troll in
 the grips of its tentacles  finding itself entangled  only in tentacles without anything attached to them.

A moment later, the trolls cheer.

Sorsha sens a bolt of lights at the group of enemies on the far wall and the bolt explodes, getting as many of the things as possible.

Sorsha's  bolt almost fades out before striking one of the
distant things; the ones accross the pit are at the far end
of her range.

Meanwile, the third one on the same side backs away, and goes back over the edge... slowly.

Johan steps forward and attacks the tentacles holding this creature as he climbs down.... he pays attention so he isn't grabbed by another tentacle.

The trolls rally, firing volleys of arrows and charding with
 axes, and pressing the two wounded creatures back towards
the edge of the cliff. The panicked  one is oozing clear
fluid from a gaping hole inflicted by Svetlana,and it is hard
to make out with the current lighting what happened to the ones accross the abyss that Sorsha blasted.

Star moves in on the one Svetlana just zapped and goes for it's leg...

There were three pitfolk on this side of the cliff.
One was sliced into jelly by Gorgath. One has several wounds and is shy a tentacle, currently engaged by Stark, who went for its...leg? These things are like giant slugs with
tentacles around the mouth and a glowing eyestalk above.
The other live one is panicked, stuck with arrows and blasted by magic and is backing off the cliff.

Far away, illuminated  only by misfired spells is the far wall of the pit, maybe a hundred yards out. There quite a few
were climbing when you last could see. If any more are coming
 up this side, you need to go to the edge to look down.

OOC---I looked at the picture and thought I saw legs... anyway, just whack him good and let's get him going backward. 13 cutting should get at least some of his attention.

Can Melchizedek target any on the far side?

As the one goes over the side, Shorsha does shape earth to make the part the thing was going over separate from the wall and fall over the side.

Today: Sorsha rolled 11 using 3d6.  Shape earth.

Gorgath frowns as he follows the retreating one to the edge of the cliff. Once there, he leans over a bit and takes a look for more foes.

Gorgath can see the wounded pit thing fall off in Sorsha's pocket avalanche, several more seem to be about twenty yards down, and the falling one strikes one of those.

The ones on the far side of the Chasm are way out of effective range.

Gorgath retreats from the edge and gives the remains of the creature a quick kick. Reaching down, he helps up the stunned troll and takes him to the other trolls.

"I could drop some more rocks down on them if you think we should."

ooc-How high is the ceiling, is it with in range?

Umm Sorsha ... if it's not loose, don't pull it down, we are under a few hundred feet of rock, I want it to stay up there. The loose stuff... feel free.

"Anyone hurt?"

After the collapse of the bridge to the domain of Flax, not
much loose stone remains. The cavern ceiling and the other
sides of the chasm are far out of range.
The trolls gather their wounded, and set up a line of
archers, and a second line to watch them, incase they become
Enthralled  by their ancient enemies.

Mikulski  and Svetlana accompany you on your way back to
Angrid's hall.

When we get back I go to my things and retrieve the jewelry from my pocket, I go to Mikulski and show him the stuff, watching for his reaction (guys don't know jewelry...Johan knows this, but if something is badly out of place he may save me some embarrassment).

Gorgath shrugs at the human, "You problem." Then grins.

She hands Stark the jug. "Here you go. I really need to learn troll"

Guild is a group of Merchants and others with a similar desire to do things to make money, gold is the shiny metal  Johan smiles at Fenric.  the language can be confusing.

Sorsha looks at Trollop "It can be very hard to describe complete, so going up would be the best way but I show you more then Stark.  she mutters a few words and an illusion of the guild appears, she lets everyone see it and then what the city looks like during a bright and sunny day.

No Cavern... sky is the roof... and the sun makes bright light for about half the day... it's dark the other half.

Sorsha makes the illusion show the sun and how it looks in the sky. She does the illusion as if she is looking around.

The trolls are rapt with this display, and several point at
the constellations, calling out unfamiliar names, but all
very excited to see them.

Sorsha shows them some of the different animals like sheep, cattle, dogs and cats. Then she shows them lions and bears.

The trolls become excited about the cows and sheep, and their conversation gets very animated. As these trolls raise fire
 breathing slorn, the lions don't  raise much interest.
One, however starts reciting some kind of poetry when you demonstrate the tiger.

Sorsha shows the trolls what an ocean looks like and then what a strom looks like with a great storm.

The trolls seem to have a little diffuculty understanding
weather, but one points at the ocean view and asks
"On kala vees.. in water are poisson...?" he makes a horizontal wriggling movement with
one hand.

Fish? Yes, many fish

Sorsha  makes some different fish appear coming out of the water.

From repeated translation,  most of you now recognize the trollish word papikud as refering to an elf such as Sorsha or her cousin. Angrid said the trolls of the Northern reaches were slaughtered by a blue haired elf.

When Melchizedek understands what was said, he responds.

"They are not usually from below. Actually, they are not from round here, so it was probably hired by someone who would be the real source of your troubles. The guild probably knows who hired it, so why don't you send someone to discuss it with them?"

I will escort this person myself, Angrid.

"With any luck maybe the blue haired one will run into us and we can take care of it" she smiles.
