In reply to Narrator (msg # 893):

Iskander stopped and observed the purple robed figures. ooc: area knowledge to know who they are in this place, or heraldry perhaps to recognize a standard being borne?

Re: In the palace of Sakemoko

Chou-Zhen hurries into the palace, with mere minutes to spare of the hour Jin called for -- only to find Jin, Ales, Iskander, and Airis long gone.  His queue twitches furiously for a moment as he reads the note and he aborts a gesture before completion.

Stopping the first servant he can, he leaves a message for the Daimyo: "I have returned within the time Jin gave; I now depart to catch up to Jin and the others."  As soon as he's sure the servant has it, he hurries back out, calculating how quickly he can reach the temple district without exhausting himself by running.

Once outside the house, he repeats and completes the gesture he began before; he then hurries off at a visibly faster pace than is normal for him.

Ales observed the men in purple, but otherwise did nothing.

(OOC: I wonder if these are of the same lineage as those in Against the Cult. I do hope so.)

Airis could not stop the disagreement between the men that she thought could have been handled better. She was just a woman and let the men work it out. She looks at Ales as he joins her at the rear. "So, you have come back to join me in protecting the back. I am glad you are still breathing"

He smiled shyly.  He knew that she knew that Jinn had embarrassed him.  "You could say that.  And thank you."

Ales bowed politely in respect.

"So do you have any idea what the sayings Furawa could mean?"

Jinn looked over his shoulder as he approached the priests. "It would probably be best if you spoke to the priests, Iskander. My form of diplomacy is not suited to this sort of thing. The only language I speak is fear."

In reply to Ales Konstantin (msg # 898):

Iskander turned to Airis and Ales and interjected: "I think Fuwara san meant to say, that all our actions and influences are interwoven more than we think, and as a result, we must be careful in what we say and do because the effects are lasting. These things are noticed by those who observe from upon high....and from less savory planes."

"We're on hallowed ground here... this place is a focus. If it is good, I want to be a model to it, and if it is evil.. I want to oppose it with good works."

Re: In the palace of Sakemoko

"I wasn't asking you, Iskander.  I was asking Airis.", Ales replied.

"While that is the obvious answer to Furawa's sayings, there is probably a deeper answer that I'm trying to figure out.  One that may ultimately help us find what Sakemoko is having us looking for."

Ales sighed.  "I wish Chou was here.  He seems to be better at this sort of thing than I am."

"Anyways, Airis, do you have any thoughts on Furawa's sayings?  Do they merely mean to be a good person or is there something more?"

"Ales, I do agree with Iskander and would add. Take help and knowledge where ever and when ever you can. We are all here on a mission for the master and need to work together. We all need to learn tolerance of each other differences. We entertainers and performers learn to deal with all people." she takes his hand "Just be open to idea and knowledge, what ever the source"

Chou-Zhen hurries through the streets toward the temple district, expecting to take no more than a quarter hour to get there from Sakemoko's palace -- but unsure how much head start the group has.

The purple robed priests, who you can see talking to a smaller person wearing wooly pants with something on his head
(you are 30 yds out) are plutocrats, priests of Dis Pater
from the Hadereum... Death, Earth, Law and Taxes are their
specialties. They are the beaurocracy  of this city.

The little person, who is wearing a laurel wreath on his head, is not in fact wearing pants, and is a satyr. He seems to be agitatated about something in the small temple behind
him, the others seem to be listening and doing a little head

Re: In the palace of Sakemoko

As Chou-Zhen comes in sight, he sees the group of purple-clad figures gathered around the smaller, oddly dressed figure beyond Jin and company.  His attention is drawn so immediately by the smaller figure with wooly-seeming legs and what appear to be horns that he doesn't register who the robed ones are.  He breaks into a run to close the rest of the distance to the group.

"Jin!  That's a faun, or just possibly their archetype, a divinity of deep and tranquil woods -- he might well be the being Furawa-san detected."
