Ashbury has a sour look to him, Master Norries seems
indifferent, and Lepkur has a tight expression, and the
appearance of someone barely controlling their anger.
"Have a seat, rogues. We have come to a decision about houw to pursue this matter."

Sitting where indicated, Ardenas waits to hear what's made Lepkur so upset.

Oly does likewise and remains quiet... Obviously the decision hasn't made some folks happy at all...

If the orcs end up on the payroll, it is the guard details
which they will primarily occupy. It is no concern to me if
they shelve goods or even sell them, so long as the right
portion of coin wends its way into guild coffers."

Looking at Ashbury, Ardenas speaks.

"I don't see how giving the orcs a piece of the access to the undercity would pick your pocket.  You can still choose who you hire, can you not?  Or is there reason to believe Gonash will want to push his people into your shop?"

Ashbury replies sourly
"By my position of rank in the guild, I had right of
refusal over any outsiders in this venture. Lepkur pulled rank on me to allow the orcs to be employed. This was not my
preference."

 here, ta say nuttin about da health of da guild gamblin
operations citywide. Your stipulation bout making sure your
goods had ta be in each of da kiosks at da price you set
still holds, an you aint gotta pay yerself fer da guards an what, sat comes offa da guild's piece of dis. You still got
points in dis setup. Oi got nothin in dis except da dice room."

"Perhaps, sir, you should consider doing some rapid hiring for critical positions, before the orcs in general know they'll have the opportunity to apply?  As a forward thinking business man, you probably already have your eye on certain candidates.  Bring them in quickly enough, and they'll have precedence over anyone Gonash might want to push into the chain."

"I will consider that course of action. Go and protect this wretched goblin's pathetic gambling ring."

Ardenas sits for a moment.

"How do we apply our leverage to Gonash, then?  We know what he wants, and we know what we need.  I'm not some Guild negotiator, I'm a martial artist with a very little magic.  Oly is best at not being seen.  When we started this, there were more of us, but we two are all that's left of our group."

In reply to Ardenas Barehand (msg # 492):

"I have another negotiator in the field, a nymph named Astra Black. If you can find him, he may be able to
help. I sent him with Chye Isuel, the bard-knight, Quint the
telemancer, Laurence Cassile, and my personal agent, Hitomi
to attend to another aspect of this business. They may be in
Little Shevnia or on their way to the Hadereum. If you cannot
 find them, you may be on your own."

Oly Nods... I dink I know Hidomi.

"I'm pretty sure I've heard of Hitomi -- she was mentioned as one of the ranking people who could get me through a gate a while back.  I don't believe I've run into Quint, or Aria.  I think I've met Laurence once or twice.  If they're possibly headed from Little Shevnia to the Hadereum, we might be able to intercept them.

"Oly, are you a runner?"

Nod zo much... bud maybe a bid...

"Maybe we'd best just head for the Hadereum, then, and hope to catch up with Hitomi and her group there.  Without being sure of where in Little Shevnia they were starting from, catching them on the way would be pretty chancy, anyway."
