"I'm inclined to see what's down here. There's clearly far more going on here than a lost pay train, and I'm curious to find out what secrets might be hiding in these tunnels." Danos chips in.

"Let us see if this is more than a room or two, if it is a small place, we can check it out and not lose too much time. If it looks to be a large tunnel system going somewhere else, we can revisit whether to go for the payroll first, or only.  It might be a secret exit, and that could be useful."

Syvanus takes the lantern in his left hand and his short sword in his right and heads down the stairs carefully, feeling each with his foot as he goes.

Syvanus is imoaired by the pain in his head, but finds an ossuary below, a small room lined with bones, abnd a skull in the center of the room on top of a pile of rib cages.
