"I don't think that's any worse than watching that barrel, anyway -- makes me want a bath just letting it pass by!

"Okay, do the tunnel workers wear a uniform of some kind?  So I can tell them from a stray cultist, or walker?  Boom-brats, at least I can identify confidently."

"Some might display t'e Iron Key an Key Ring... but no most sewer worker don't.  Ya can tell t'em apart from vagrants though by t'e way t'ey tend to be in groups.  An some like to wear leathers down here.  An tall boots. An t'ey look better fed than t'e vagrants.  An t'ey won't be wavin knives an screamin about t'e dark gods like cultists...  heh."

He laughs a moment.  "Oh, an t'ey usually have a light.  If ya see someone with no light, t'ey is probably not a sewer worker."

"Okay, that makes me feel so much better.  Speaking of light, I wish there was more light down here, so I can see the ones with no lights a little further down the tunnel.  If I have to kill them, I'd rather do it as far away as possible."

"I think this light from Nodwin still got juice," he pulls out one of the light stones Nodwin gave him.

"An yeah, hey Nodwin, any chance ya can pop a light on t'e tunnel stones a bit down each tunnel?  Say t'e end of each catchment and this main?  How far ya think ya need Mario?"

Re: Against  the  Cult

"If you want me to turn stones that are part of the wall into lightstones, it will take me a bit of time.  I can do it, but unless you want ones that are duller than even a small torch, I will need to rest in between. To make them as bright as the ones i handed out, i will need to rest for about a half hour each time."

Nodwin thinks about it and starts to grin, "It is definitely a good idea to have semi-permanent light down here though.  Mario, if you want to lead the laborers back to the necromancer to try and sell a couple of these bodies, I will stand guard myself while setting up the lights. Besides, if something too dangerous comes while I am alone, I can run faster than you can with your leg.  I should be finished by the time you all get back."

"Nodwin, you're making a lot of sense, not to say Jareth isn't. Okay, Francois and Evain,  let's get that body and the barrow back upstairs and we'll be off to Dagon's place to see if it's worth hauling the others up."

Nodwin sets about casting continual light, Mario escorts the laborers back to the guild, and Jareth as well. Mel and Jocelyn (and crotch sniffer) are you staying with Nodwin?

Re: Against  the  Cult

"Glad you guys are here, until we get the area secure, it will be safer to be in small groups down here." Nodwin tells Jocelyn and Mel.

He heads down the first tunnel for a ways and then uses his staff to touch a stone in the ceiling.  He bows his head for a moment while murmuring, but then shakes it. "Gah, I am too used to my polished stones.".

He focuses again and this time the brick begins to glow brightly.

In reply to Nodwin Zideqick (msg # 922):

With the light a bit brighter, Nodwin  can see where his scattered crossbow bolts are.

Meanwhile, Mario, the Laborers and Jareth head back to the guild, to see if the unraisable bodies can be sold and whether or not the rotworms can be as well.

"Say, do you suppose there's a way for a necromancer to keep a walker's mind intact?  Or would it just drive a person mad to know that they're dead and still walking around?  Or is that why it's a punishment for the Hadereum to make walkers carrying signs out of their worst offenders -- rather than just a sign to everyone else?"

Mario's random thought isn't addressed to anyone in particular.

"Agitating?  You mean like those folks who stand up on a washtub on a street corner and try to get the workers to unite?  Seems to me that wouldn't get anywhere unless there were more like him.

"An average walker seems to have just about enough sense to follow instructions -- say, just a little smarter than a lap dog, or a little less so than a herding dog.  Not much likelihood you could raise such up against their masters, I wouldn't think."

Nodwin, Jocyn, Mellaril, Crotchsniffer and Brodak, what are you up to? at last count,
Nodwin was installing some lighting and resting, and maybe planning on using holy water to
deconsecrate the cultist's summoning area.

Re: Against  the  Cult

Well, after the lighting is taken care of, I'd like to rest up, then head into the summoning room and work on cleaning it.

First Nodwin will make sure any body parts are removed, then make sure to destroy, erase or clean up any symbols written on the floor.

After that is accomplished, the holy water will be spread out around the room using the Aspergillum.

Once that is accomplished, Nodwin will pray to Vejovis and perform a religious ritual to cleanse the room.

This will probably take a couple of hours to do all this.
