Return to the Palace of Sakemoko

[Private to GM: Can I make an Occultism, but especially a Thaumology roll?]

Ales notices the red lights and beaded curtains and is sure this is place where the ritual is probably taking place.  In his head, it reeks of evil.

"Please, oh please, let there be something I can kill..."

Chou-Zhen slows his steps and gathers up his leather whip, to reduce noise, then continues as quietly as possible toward the red light.

[Private to GM: 18:32, Today: Chou-Zhen Mou rolled 11 using 3d6.  Stealth (skill 9).]

OOC: passed roll by 3.
Iskander uses the hook and tines of his weapons to carefully separate and curtain and mute the bells, by wrapping them with beaded strands. something that looked pretty complicated, like a surgeon going into a wound, with his instruments. "There.. it's done."

Return to the Palace of Sakemoko

He wonders what would happen if they had blindly go in through the bell-laced curtain.
That gives him an idea...

"What if we turn this into a trap for them?"

He waves his hands in front of him, chanting as he did so.  Suddenly, the area became filled with the sound of bells jangling at all noise levels.

(OOC: Rolled an 11 on Sound (14).  Passed, unless GM applies penalty.)

"The hell are you doing, you idiot?" Jin turns to Ales angrily. "It's an alarm, you fool! It makes noise to warn the people inside that intruders are approaching! That's what it does! That's all it does! Iskander disarmed it, and you just did its job for it!"

"I swear you are the single biggest idiot I've ever met."

With any attempts at stealth rendered moot, Chou-Zhen once again flips his leather whip ahead with each step as he moves up to the curtained doorway without passing through (the glowing popper of his whip does enter the room).  Once a single step away, he peers through the gaps in the curtain, holding his lightning whip ready.

Return to the Palace of Sakemoko

In reply to Airis Moonshadow (msg # 943):

Peering through the curtain before Iskander opened it, and
Ales subsequently set off the alarm, Airis could percieve a
number of persons in a karge, brazier lit space.

Almost all had been facing away from the entrance, but as
soon as Ales cast his spell, they all turned.

Ales, charging through, is confronted (7 yards in) by a man
in lamelar   armor, and a woman in an embroidered   set of
robes. FIre lights the area, and calls of alarm  come from
 behind the two figures.

Iskander remains on the other side of the archway, to the side. Listening to Ale's bravado within, he curses the chance for a surprise assault upon the enemy's distracted backs has been lost. He waits, sizing up their strength and tries to get an idea how many there are total, as there seems to be more beyond the pair.

Hearing the shouts of alarm, Chou-Zhen ignores Jin and rushes through the curtain, coming alongside Ales on the side toward the robed woman, lightning whip at the ready as his leather whip flips and twitches to stay clear of his feet.

"Let's deal with these quickly, Ales."
