Return to the Palace of Sakemoko

Iskander takes aim against the mage-man, with his knife, and throws it, to little effect, but possibly breaking his concentration. He withdraws back into the passageway, out of sight.

Chou-Zhen gestures as the arrows fly, but is still struck by one missile.  Unfazed, he lashes again with his lightning whip at the remaining wizard.

The six archers draw arrows. Meanwhile, the male recasts his

One of the ninja rushes Chou-Zhen and swings at him.
The other races forward and swings at Jin.
[Private to Jin: dodge, parry or take 5pts cutting before DR]

Return to the Palace of Sakemoko

(OOC: Dodge Failed.  Where did arrows hit so that I may take appropriate damage?)

Ales, irritated by being hit by arrows, held out his hand and chanted.  A giant red flame jet appeared in his hand.  He aimed it squarely at the guy in front of him, ready for him to feel the burn he was already feeling.

(Flame Jet (14) passed, unless GM applies penalties.)

Luckily, Ales's chainmail takes the majority of the damage.  However, those two points of damage still smarts.

And, if those pesky ninjas thought the volley of arrows was going to distract him, they had another thing coming.  Despite their effort, Ales manages to launch his flame jet at the villain in front of him.

(OOC: Innate attack (jet) (15) roll passed at a 12.  Even with the 3 point penalty to concentration, it still passes at a 12.)

Chou-Zhen misses the rhythm of the ninja's sword, and the blade bites.  He staggers slightly from the blow but, queue switching, lashes his lightning whip at the mage once again -- missing cleanly.

"Kill this wizard, Ales!"

Impaling weapons do x2 damage after DR. chainmail in 4e is
weak to crushing, not impaling. now roll damage for the flame
jet... and how much FP do you have left, since you were
already  Spellburning  hp?

Return to the Palace of Sakemoko

(OOC: There is still 5 fp after casting the flame jet spell.  The chainmail is 4/2 against crushing, so I'm probably fucked there, too.)

Ales is aiming for the vitals of the male wizard.  "I'm trying, Chou, I'm trying", he says as he hopes his attack is enough to get rid of the pesky villain.

(OOC: Damage is 5.)

Visibly slowed by his injuries, Chou-Zhen lashes his lightning whip once more at the wizard, missing again.

[Private to GM: 18:59, Today: Chou-Zhen Mou rolled 13 using 3d6.  Lightning Whip, roll to hit.]

OOC: that 4/2 indicates your chainmail absorbs 4 points from attacks other than crushing -- so an arrow that does 4 before DR doesn't even penetrate.

In reply to Iskander (msg # 997):

Airis provides a Coup de gras for the semi conscious
sorceress, and she is now behind the remaining swordsman.

The male magician's robe bursts into flames,  and he staggers back, his hand still blazing.

[Private to Iskander: attacks vs the make magicians might help, and any disruption of the archers would be a good idea-acrobatics to close with them would work]

The six bow ninja are drawing their bows

Return to the Palace of Sakemoko

Flipping his leather whip toward the ninja bowmen to shorten range, Chou-Zhen speaks a word, and the room fills with a sulfurous cloud, curiously absent where Jin, Ales, Lee, Iskander, Airis, and Kho Khilana are (as well as where Chou-Zhen stands, of course).

"Stand still, everyone, and don't move if you must defend."

The spell cast, Chou-Zhen drops into lotus position to rest.

[Private to GM: 04:55, Today: Chou-Zhen Mou rolled 13 using 3d6.  Stench, roll to cast (4 hex radius) (-1 for spells on).
Mana drawn from power item, now empty.

In reply to Iskander (msg # 1000):

As the gas cloud forms, the ninja fire their bows.
Arrows strike Alwz and Lee, but are blocked by their armor. 3 arrows fly at Jin, one at Chou-Zen, which flies over him as he reaches the floor. All three on Jin may strike him!

The last swordsman advances in Chou, his back to Airis.

Return to the Palace of Sakemoko

Jin, who is still in the formerly-beaded doorway and not in the room and thus not in the area of Chou's cloud anyway, throws himself to the ground to avoid the arrows, letting them all pass harmlessly over his head to strike whoever is behind him.

He then rolls to the side, putting the wall between himself and the archers before starting the laborious process of standing up.

ooc: Drop n Dodge vs 3 arrow attacks: pass, pass, pass.
round 1: crawl (move 1) down the corridor so he's no longer in view to the archers.
round 2: get to his knees.
round 3: stand up.

ooc: Ales - Recover Energy isn't a spell that you cast. It just cuts the time it takes you to recover fp in half, from 1 point per 10 minutes, to 1 point per 5 minutes. The effect is passive.
