Ales followed along, unsure what he could do to aid the efforts.


"Is there anything we can do to make your stay on this plane of existence easier?", he asked finally, doubtful if he would even get a response.

Chou-Zhen follows along as well, wondering if it could really be this easy.

"Ales, how do we know this is the correct celestial being?"

Iskander spoke, knowing the celestial was with them.
"If there ever was to be a *marriage of heaven and hell* Kho Khilana, seems to be the one we seek, according to the divination...It doesn't sound as if a battle of epic proportion is imminent, between the two spirits...although perhaps between us, and those who would try and stop us."

In reply to Iskander (msg # 5):

"Beware...My Lady, we may be assailed along the way, before we can get you to Fuwara. There has already been bloodshed involved...and I expect there shall be much more."

"She seems pretty oblivious to certain things.. I just want to warn her of any peril that might befall us."

"She's either not threatened by the dangers we face, or confident enough in her own abilities that your words will not sway her. So relax, Iskander. You have neither the power nor the responsibility to affect what happens. Let go and leave your fate in the hand of your God."

"I do not want for food, for I make that myself. I do
not suffer from the vicissitudes of temperature, fpor which reason I do not dress, I can walk through most flames and other hazards. I am quite comfortable."

A small octogonal cake that is pale green appears in his palm. Crushed pistachos  are fprinkled in the center. It has
a faint aroma of green tea.

"Thank you!" Iskander Broke it and ate a peice, wondering if the flavor were chosen randomly, or if it reflected upon his person in some way. He popped it into his mouth, after inhaling it's aroma.

Jin watches Iskander eat the cake. "Look at this motherfucker right here, never read a fairy-tale before. Fool, don't you know nothing good never came from taking gifts from the gods or faeries or whatever? Now you're going to have to spend half of every year in the temple of the dick god or some shit."

His tone was teasing and somewhat bemused. This was as good-natured as Jin got.

Iskander finished the cake. "A most delicious proof of Her Lady's benevolance." Iskander hoped his rare moment of uncaution would help allow the others to trust the celestial, and that she was indeed the one they sought.

He turned to Chou.  "I'm not entirely sure myself.  She presents herself as a benevolent being, but as you might remember from the Christian religion some are peddling around Northport, their devil sometimes wrecks havoc by masquerading as an angel of light."

Ales sighed.  "I'm not saying that she's not, but it seems too simple.  Iskander seems to think she is, but he might be too distracted sampling the wares."

He paused.  "I have an idea."  He closed his eyes and let his mind expand into the nearby area.  He was trying to sense if there was any nearby dangers, including the newfound patron, Kho.

(OOC: Sense Danger roll passed.)

Waiting for Ales to finish his moment of concentration, Chou-Zhen then replies:

"Deception is very common among the celestials and the infernals; many Sahudese gods and demons routinely disguise their appearances to walk among mortals unrecognized.  This Kho Khilani seems not to be doing so, at least not to avoid notice."  He gestures in a classic hourglass shape.  "If she wanted to be unnoticed, she'd need only do what she is -- remain invisible.

"I think it unlikely that she means us harm, if only because if that were the case, she could have harmed us without our knowing she was there.  Similarly, I think it unlikely she deceives us, because she could as easily do so and appear more powerful, or demand our worship and sacrifice.

"I think it likely she is exactly who she claims to be."

"Agreed, Chou.  Barring any sign from my patron, I will assume that Kho is exactly who she seems to be."

Ales quickly changed the subject.  "Did you have fun where ever you went when you left the Palace? You seem somehow.... changed."

Airis just waits to see what happens. She continues to watch and listen.

Iskander listened to the others speak, but he kept his eyes open and alert, haste and purpose in his step, as he moved along.

"I went to the guild to learn more spells.  I returned to find that the hour I'd been told to expect had been shortened after I left, so I used a spell to let me walk faster -- a spell I'm still maintaining.

"Beyond that, I don't believe I've changed since I left the palace earlier."

"Looks the same to me," Jin said. "You could have asked for more time instead of running off like a child released from studies, Chou. I would have been fine waiting longer."

percieve her expression.

Iskander laughed inside his throat "Hmmnnh!" It was hard for him to imagine Chou as a child, running home from school, but he managed to anyways. "Time well spent. Which did you learn, friend?"

"Jin, I took less than the hour you had specified -- yet when I returned to the palace, you were gone, with everyone else following you.

"Iskander, I had intended to learn Create Earth, Deflect Missile, and Deflect Energy, but there was a minor emergency on the instructor's part and I learned Counterspell in place of the last.  Next time I need to make a wall in a hurry, I need not draw on the structure around me, to its detriment -- and I can prevent shuriken or arrows from striking instead of having to take the wounds."

Ales clasped his hand on Chou's shoulder good naturedly.  "Congrats, Chou.  Maybe I might survive the next wave of evil ninjas after all."
