Re: GAME ON !

Would love to play.  I do have one suggestion though. It seems that we cover every minute of time so little happens. I would like a less sand box feel to the game at least at first to pick pace up

Re: GAME ON !

Well Edward, I agree I start games out slow. It's generally so people have a chance to establish their characters. Definitely have to speed things up though. LOL. We played Q&D for years and didn't get past the fourth day. I intend to make the pace much faster.

Re: GAME ON !

I'm still in. Is it possible, just to save time, that those that are still in can get a brief catch-up by Mav as time of day and where everyone is accordingly. I was just thinking it might help get things moving. Plus I can figure out how to bring me IG and what I would see as I head into town. Would this be possible?

Am I the only one that noticed Flossie wants to hike up her skirts and Temperance wants her buns buttered? I really like the women in this game. ;)

Anyway, hope to post very soon now, life's been keeping me busy and stressed, ack.  :S  Starting to settle, though.  :)

As for buns and things, I shall leave that in your hands.  :P

Why!? Why is it all my games are tanking.... is it me, am I jinxing every game I've joined over the last few months? If the GM doesn't leave, then he can't control his players or a player or two are just complete ass-nuggets and go Me!Me!Me!.....

(Insert Loud Yell) Tension breaker, had to be done. :/

Re: GAME ON !

Hello all. It's been a long time and I'm sorry for that. It turns out my crazy life has settled down finally and I have returned to RPoL as a player recently. I've been seriously considering returning as a GM with this game in particular if I can drum up interest in it once again. Many of you have roleplayed with me clear back in the days of The Quick and the Dead and I value your opinions. Does anyone think it's worth a shot to try to re-spark this game? I've been debating on trying again or if I should maybe just start over with something new, but I must confess my preference is still with the western genre and my old friends if anyone might possibly still be interested.

Any thoughts? Any advice? I'd appreciate your input. :)

Re: GAME ON !

I would love to play a western. One challenge I have seen in western sandboxes that time and scenes drag on forever. I recently played in a sandbox that had a standard cut off date of three weeks per day.

The other trouble is that sometimes players feel they need to rp every bit of the day. I think there should be an emphasis on that scenes are that which would make it on to the final cut of a movie

But, would be up if these issues could be addressed, so the game moves

Re: GAME ON !

I am, as always, here.

Edward Jennings do have a point, though, and to this I would also like to add what I have seen in small group, plot oriented games as opposed to this more sandbox style, when people posts so much they create a game within a game and can indeed skew time.

I do not envy GMs, I tell you.  ;)

Re: GAME ON !

LOL. Sandbox. New term for me. I understand completely what you are saying though. For the most part I agree. My games do have a tendency to attract people who are character oriented and love to write and do get dragged down in the individual character stories instead of over-all plot, but I must confess to loving the writing of so many of my players who have always been friends, I always let that happen. lol. I also have a habit of being "soap opera" and letting many stories play out at the same time instead of advancing the Adventures and plots I have set up. When I set up a game I plot many different stories to follow hoping to keep everyone interested in some way, then I get distracted in their own individual story-lines a bit to much. Always been a weakness for me. :)

Maybe if individual stories become important I should break people off into separate groups? I have never done that because by and large most of the players I've had love to read the others writing and stories as much as I do but I do see where that could handle a lot of the timeline issue. I also understand what Edward says about cut-off dates for game time. I have indeed set those up before but always let it slide. Another weakness when I get drawn into the players writing. I confess. I'm a weak GM. I can indeed enforce these matters more though. Some players may leave because of it. I understand real life makes you unavailable very often, but to advance the game it may become necessary and perhaps we'd end up with a more solid core of players?

I'm just throwing thoughts out there and asking for suggestions. I appreciate any input as always.
