Back To Where It All Began

That annoying guy in the Crow's Nest...that one who's always shouting about "Land this," and "Land that!" is yelling his head off again.  This time he's shouting out your destination.  The small fishing village of Portshead.  About eighteen miles from the river.  Thirty something miles from Korvosa.

You guys had to drop quite a few coins to tempt the captain to sail you this close.

As you left the Ashlands and headed for Korvosa, you heard snippets and rumors from passing merchants.

The Queen has indeed gone past the limits of sanity.  The city is now under an iron rule.  Several small rebel forces have emerged, but the Queen has enlisted the aid of four dragons.  She has an iron grip on the city

However, there do seem to be cracks in that iron glove.  The rumors you hear indicate there may be infighting within the ranks of her troops.  You've also heard the name Tarrov whispered as one of the rebel leaders.  Anyone remember good ol' Tarrov?

You might be able to gather more intel once you've landed in Portshead.  But you'll have to figure out how to get back into the city and...well.  What to do after that.

Questions?

Re: Back To Where It All Began

Selvin, for once, was alone. Not that there weren't other people around, but he wasn't surrounded by the symbiotic outsider that usually traveled with him everywhere. He had opted not to freak the ship's crew out and had been...Zac-less...for the journey.

It was uncomfortable. He felt naked. And he would sometimes lock himself up in a room and summon his friend for a while where no one else could see. He wouldn't probably admit it, but he was perhaps a little co-dependent these days.

"Tarrov." He glanced at Chandanar and Izzick. "Haven't heard THAT name in a bit." He shook his head and smiled but looked stunned. "It feels like we've been away from Korvosa for YEARS, but it really hasn't been all that long I guess in reality. 'Cept for the time we spent in other times." He chuckled.

Re: Back To Where It All Began

Zuni was on the deck of the ship, treating it like her personal playground.  She leapt and tumbled about the deck, swinging her newly acquired Longsword in intricate patterns of attack and defence, trying to get used to the heavier weight of the weapon.  They were looking to kill big magical creatures after all and it would be good for her to have some familiarity with the weapon that she was going to do this with.

And she did like freaking out the crew just a little bit.

When her practice was over, Zuni, breathing heavily, pulled out a small rag from a pocket to wipe the sweat from her brow.  Maybe she had been overdoing it with these practice sessions, but she wanted to be ready when the time came.  "So what do you think?" she asked the sword.  "Are we ready?  Don't suppose you want to give me some pointers on the best way to kill a dragon."

In reply to Zuni Runesong (msg # 3):

"You could maybe stab it really, really hard.  Oh.  You weren't asking me were you?"

Chandanar leans against the ship's prow.  "So...do we just kinda wander into town and try to find Queenie?"

Re: Back To Where It All Began

The days on the ship heading for Portshead was actually pretty relaxing.  Lucky hadn't remembered when he last had time to do just that, relax.  He watched the woman named Zuni as she practiced with the new blade she had.  Often talking to it.  Lucky didn't know if she was crazy or not, he hoped the latter for Zuni was one of the others that she felt a bit more kindred towards.  She was a skilled fighter and had a lot of agility like himself.  She wasn't half bad looking either.

Lucky too practiced his trade by climbing around in the rigging and springing from climb points to others always testing his abilities.  He also tested his lockpicking on his own lockbox.  He didn't want the crew knowing he could get into their things with ease, which he did when they weren't around, of course.

When he heard that land was spotted Lucky looked out over the railing squinting his eyes to see.  He heard Chandanar's question and only shook his head.  "I don't think that is our best option, we go around asking questions we put a target on our back.  We need to listen and blend in."
