Re: OOC Wastes Eleven

Ohanzee is worth it ooc

I think if I were tarnessh, I'd think of a way to change the deal. There are ways to get out of this without lying or even stretching the truth.

The real question is how important is this disc to you and perhaps more importantly to the rest of us as rangers.

Re: OOC Wastes Eleven

I think it could work exactly like that unless Sun Hawks must answer only the truth as it relates to the intent of a question rather than the actuality of a question. Example

@Tarnessh: "It's true, the cannibals took Ohanzee and me and we lost a lot of our things before we were rescued, including some friends." = Truth

If they ask "Do you have it now?" the truth relating to the actual question is no, because it is back in caves. The truth relating to the intent of the question is yes of course.

Emesh-Ga got any advice for us or any reaction? Maybe if he showed his support they wouldn't dismiss us as kids.

The fact that you're being talked to shows that they do respect you lot, despite what they say. Emesh-Ga is right there for all of them to see. The Shaman didn't press his remarks vs Amara for example and the Khan is being rather nice, when the rivalries would normally prevent this.

The Yelmalions do not seem to be bothered by him. They likely have their own powerful spirit.

The Earth Knight is there to protect you from any attacks etc.

Re: OOC Wastes Eleven

Well, the oath was that I would give them the disk in exchange for them releasing Ohanzee. I said nothing about him being grabbed by Gadesha, and I'm not about to go make any demands for of the one entity in this place more powerful then the Earth Witch.

Also this is kinda worth it just for the look on their faces.

Re: OOC Wastes Eleven

though I think she might just hand over the disc as she grabs him, but she was asked to rescue, not trade for him. So its 50/50 what she'll do. It might make them worried over how powerful Melock is, because he got Gadesha to deliver the disc instead of doing it himself :)

Also, I never actually made an oath. I just said I would need an oath from them.

Pft, nah. I just pay attention to what I say. Besides, this is genuinely a surprise for Tarnessh. He assumed that Melock was just going to hold onto the disc for safekeeping in case they tried to take it from him by force during the parley.

Originally that was the plan, but then I realised, what better place to keep it safe than deep in the Earth Temple, and then I recalled one of the plans mentioned was to get Gadesha to grab him, so I thought its worth asking her, the only sticking point may have been that she could only leave the temple on holy days.

Nice work Tarnessh by the way.

I will try and post IC in a while.

You lot are safe for now. Hopefully Kobal will show up soon and deal with the marriage proposal.

if Kelab Besi laughs like the person in his picture, (Brian Blessed, I think) then Henal, Ohanzee and Melock can probably hear him where they are :)

That is indeed Brian Blessed in the original Blackadder playing Richard IV.

Had an idea on how to get the chains off of Ohanzee, we'll need someone with a lot of heal 6's and a sharp edged weapon :)

@Ohanzee, I thought it was from Flash Gordon

I've got a sharp edged weapon!

Not sure how my accuracy is with it, might take me a few hacks...

Re: OOC Wastes Eleven

Sorry for being away.  Was not well most of last week, got a bit better, then worse.  Finally caught up.  Might not post much over the next few days as I need to catch up with work and stuff.

I've got a question, since the Khan raised the idea of marriage.  Among clans, do braves need permission from family or the elders to marry?  Or is a brave free to marry whom they will?  Just wondering if it's the sort of thing Kobal would see himself free to answer.

For now, I've just made a neutral post IC.

Tarnessh Listens-To-Silence:
Kobal would be a great catch for anyone, but he's also an heir to his tribe, so marrying someone without telling his family or the tribal leadership at all could have real bad political ramifications *coughcough*RedWedding*cough*

Out of interest, is Kobal an heir?  His grandfather was khan of the clan, but his father is not.  Sorry, how is clan leadership decided anyway?  Heredity, seniority, decision of elders?

I'll leave this up to you. If you think of yourself as an independent hero type then you are the master of your own fate. Otherwise go back home and ask your family. It looks like the Khan expects an answer now.

I imagine braves just do what they want, but are guided by tribal laws, so don't marry close relatives or chaos for example. I've left this kinda hazy for you lot to decide.

Marrying a Khans daughter would not be frowned upon, especially if it brings to rival clans closer. Praxian nomads normally take one wife until they are worthy of taking more = a tough warrior, respected cultist, owner of may herd beasts etc. You lot are already quite a catch.

It's not hereditary. I think when a Khan dies or retires he is replaced by the next most appropriate warrior. I imagine this can be contested.

Re: OOC Wastes Eleven

Both Akala and Hoskar will have recognised the manacles on Ohanzee as being magical bonds originally made by the Mostali. Impossible to remove except by the person who placed them on the slave. Whilst on the wearer's Pow is reduced considerably.
