Amara Brightsky:
Hehe, the wandering rangers aren't unified and decisive in any case.

the mere fact Ohanzee was caught alone is proof of that.

Which is why it's even more important that we don't let them know that : P

Our scene wasn't progressing when I woke up so I spoke before you.
and to be fair it's in my character to speak even when it would be wise for me not to.

I'm acting IC too. Don't take it personally.

Bad Day At The Office for me, I fear: software updates wreaking havoc. Will try to knock out a brief IC now before things go pants again.
Edit: Net fading in and out; won't have long enough to do stuff IC till the morrow. A pox on IT!

Not to games expo. About the only show I ever hit these days is the SELWG wargames convention at Crystal Palace in October. Though I hope to get to Dragonmeet in December this year.

Just a quick thought - if we have to buy Ohanzee off the Red Thorns does that make him our slave, so we can make him clean up the camp after us? ;)

I'll try to stay abreast but may well be patchier in posting than I've been for a while: colleague sickness means I'm rushing about rather. Please forgive any further mis-steps thanks to necessarily hasty reading-up.

Remember that this parley was organised before you knew that Ohanzee was held by the Red Thorns and is to do about access to the Oasis and the role of the Red Thorns.

Akala offered various terms as Tada, so it is likely that the Khan will expect to hear them from him again.

Akala, what Tarnessh said is accurate to what you told him, right?

Re: OOC Wastes Eleven

Tarnessh Listens-To-Silence:
Akala, what Tarnessh said is accurate to what you told him, right?

here you go

Akala Stoneface:
When they finally stopped, Akala-Tada again raised his voice, magically enhancing it to reach the ears and hearts of all that were allies, "On this day, let it be said that these are sacred grounds for all the Tribes of Prax, and that all Tribes shall have free access at all times, so that the greening may continue to grow stronger, and all Prax might thrive."

Without pause, so as to leave no space for murmurs of decent, Akala-Tada continued, "And let it also be said that the Red Thorns, by right of first claim, have the right to settle the Oasis, and therefore serve as most honored defenders of the Earth Temple.  This honor shall grant them the rights and privilege to petition any clan or tribe for aid in defending this temple and this oasis.  This is a great and mighty boon!  It elevates the Red Thorn's, and so too does it elevate their responsibility to the people of Prax!"

Akala-Tada turned to the Red Thorns addressing those present directly, "If you choose to stay here and hold this oasis, say so now, and become one with the earth.  If you do not wish this boon, say so, and let another clan accept this responsibility with this oasis."

He continued, "I would share with you three truths of this boon: First- If you want to do your duty, you should do more than just that. You are being entrusted with protecting the temple, the greening, and Prax.  This means you must treat from a place of love with all other tribes.  You must be strong when threatened, but open handed with those that come in peace, or to serve the Temple.  And you must be wise enough to know the difference."

"Second- No matter how tall the mountain, it can not block out the sun.  The Red Thorns will grow powerful with this boon.  You must always remember, the Red Thorns and all of the Tribes are in service to the Temple as it can then serve us.  Not the other way around.  We are- none of us- so great as to eclipse the greatness of the Earth Temple and what it is doing for Prax.  We are- all of us- the mountain."

"Third, and finally- Hold fast to patience, a thing which has seen us to the ground we now stand upon.  The road ahead is a long one, with many challenges to overcome.  With the steady march like that of a nomad across the plains, we shall reach our destination together."

With the last statement, Akala-Tada gave the Red Thorns a reserved salute.

Busy day, otherwise I'd have posted an introduction earlier.

In any event, seeing as my Aunt and Uncle are already here I'm sure the Khan knows who I am anyway! Salen will still wait on that pipe...

I was going to go away with a "I have been a brave for only three seasons and even the Khan of the red thorns knows who I am" speech to tell the red thorn why he should pay attention to calves, but Tarnessh seems mid negotiation atm.

another thing to take when we go harpy hunting, A clay tablet: A safe passage pass.

had a funny thought today, spoiler alert if you haven't played Snake pipe hollow, what would happen if you got Baroshi to move to GFH, he has powers to defeat and turn away chaos and I also think he's has something to do with grain.
