Cthulhu me!

Prax lore Tick.

Storm Bull and Vrak Kargh Vozh Mountain:
This spindly peak was once a Chaos god that
Storm Bull gored so hard it turned to stone,
leaving Storm Bull’s face marked on its side.

And this too, which is on the Eastern side of the hills. You lot are on the Western side.
Chaos Box: This small coffin-sized box
pops forth a monstrous Chaos foe every
Storm Bull Holy Day. The dangerous region
between the Sandstorm Hills and Dead
Bottom are avoided by all except the Storm
Bull cultists who are drawn here.

Tarnessh you can make up one thing about the chaos god, which might be relevant to the Rangers or not. Your choice.

Re: OOC One Dozen

Well they're from the Rhino Tribe.

Suggestions for their clan name please? They aren't Summer Fury or Skywatchers as you will soon find out.

Reading up on Rhino riders I see there's only 18000 of them in all of Prax. So the Clans are little more than extended family units.

Pretty much any new Members who turn up will be part of your extended families. So you are all cousins, with parents being uncles and mothers from other clans.

Or they have terrible flatulence :P

How about the One Horn clan, so named because they herd/ride a distinctive breed of rhino with only a single horn (like the Indian rhino in real world).

I also like Screaming Wind.

I will make up that the Mountain now bleeds raw filth from a single stream, which explains why the harpies like being near it. It's not like a massive gushing flow, it's more of a thin trickle.

I like this name, and the idea too.

Re: OOC One Dozen

Salen and Hoskar can see that behind the Rhino riders is a fair sized group of Impala. Not a Clan, but certainly an important family. To far to see what Clan they are.

You'd presume that they've come down from the Twixt Grasslands, a dangerous route indeed.

Tarnessh, it might seem that folk are constantly ignoring you, they are, but only because you are a Sun Hawk and they either fear or respect your ability to detect falsehoods.

I don't understand. I would assume that the group is close enough to each other that we're all visible, or did I severely underestimate how spread out we are when we ride?

Re: OOC One Dozen

Visible yes, but that's quite a way with outriders otherwise there's no point in having them since they are meant to be an early warning. Ohanzee, Amara, Hoskar and now Kobal rode ahead as per their previous posts to intercept, well Hoskar was already ahead.

In reply to GM (msg # 976):

I did write what I did. I didn't know that we were that far apart, having never been in a Buffalo-riding group in real life. Come on, that minutia doesn't actually effect the scene, and having people always have to point that out feels like they're trying to pull a "gotcha" on another player and make them feel dumb.

I've been keeping track of stuff, I know what's going on in the story. I just don't see why this has to be a big thing.

Re: OOC One Dozen

As I said all good. What I meant is to post going from A to B like the others did. The Rhino Riders were some 200m from the outskirts of the group. I like splitting the group up as it keeps you on your toes and facilitates ambushes etc.

For me that minutia makes my life easier and lets everyone know where we all are (i have 17 pc's and npc's to keep track off). I can't go on presumptions that you'll just follow people blindly.

Plus it makes the story far more pleasant to read later for us and the many lurkers who follow the game.

Something big and bad is swooping out of the clouds. There's plenty of cover: some gullies, boulders and scrub. Camouflage or hide tests would help. Add 20% to your skills before rolling.
