Stunned by Glama's sudden ending, Hoskar blinks around unseeing awhile, coming back to reality only at Kobal's words.

Aye. The Bull will honour him for now. It won't be the first time the earth has been so succoured.

Anyway, think I'm best coming with you, Kobal: this shield should be some protection against arrows, and we're both a bit big to be squeezing down cracks. Not to mention that if I do much more skulking, Ohanzee will probably think I'm even less of a rhino brave than he already does.

Ohanzee turns more sombre at the news of Glama "We'll recover his body and give him the proper rites."

"Anyone else coming up, otherwise we need to pull up the rope in case we need to get down inside the cave. Now let's find one of those entrances Tulox told of."

Henal climbs up the rope to join Ohanzee and Amara.

"Think that is all of us coming up now, Glama's fall has reminded them how far up we are. I hope these entrances are big enough that we can get through without using more of my magic as I will need what's left for fighting".

"Fair enough, let's pull the rope up then." and then he casually asks Henal "Has Hoskar's potion stopped working already then?"

Re: A Harpy in thy hand is better than a 1000 Harpies flying...

The rope is pulled up, and the two groups prepare themselves for the fight ahead. Communication between the two groups wouldn't be possible due to the lack of Familiars and bound spirits, but they would rely on courage, luck and their experience to succeed...

Emesh-Ga would be able to inform Kobal where the others were roughly.

Up above the wind is fierce, blowing from the North to the South, and keeping the sky clear of threats. Once ready the three braves begin to search for the other entrances mentioned by Tulox, who probably due to the excessive wind has failed to turn up.

Forced to crawl it takes  fifteen minutes before anything is spotted, with Amara spying a dark hole in the ground to the east, some 100m from where they had climbed up. From where she lies she can see that the rock about it is splattered with guano, but due to the angle she'd have to get closer to see down.. Henal and Ohanzee are within hailing distance and they soon join her.

The Cave of Echoes.

Those left below adjust armour and ready weapons.

"So...Charge across the arch or do we see if we can get to one of the other cave entrances?"

In reply to Leaper (msg # 922):

The cave of echoes

Hoskar bites his lip. I'd say charge...with some good strong rope tied to something first in case of falls: I don't see a good way of sneaking round here, and we're meant to be a distraction while those above do their stuff.

But then, I've been wrong a lot lately.

The drumming has intensified and those Rangers down below can sense the tell tale signs of magic building up in intensity. Some sort of ritual perhaps.

The Cave of Echoes.

"Aye, we go now," says Kobal, nodding to Leaper and Hoskar.  The drumming seems more insistent, more urgent.  He checks his armour and readies his gear, shield on one hand, javelin in the other, sword securely at his waist, potion within reach.

Haaro, is your group in position? he sends to his familiar, though there's not much time to waste, and he starts to make his away across the arch.  Hopefully the loud reverbations of the drumming will drown out any sound of their approach...

Amara glanced at the others, as the drumming increased in intensity. "Time for us to go. Hopefully we can disrupt this, before they call anything we can't handle."

Ohanzee nods "We are Wandering Rangers and we have the Bull with us today, we will prevail!" the Raven brave shuts to be heard above the howling winds.

With that he moves on into the tunnel careful not so much of constructed traps, but natural dangers such as loose rock or sudden drops.

Henal moves forward with the others.

"Anyone want to try this potion of invisibility that I captured? Not sure if anything funny will happen if I mix it with that other one".

Up above

As Ohanzee creeps closer, the noise of the storm covering his attempts to be quiet, he sees that the entrance is in fact as hole in the ceiling of a cave. He stops short of the lip so as not to reveal himself to any possible occupants.

Up above

Without poking his head over the lip Ohanzee looks about the inside of the cave for tell tale shafts of light through the darkness that could give him a baring on the other two holes.

The Cave of Echoes

Taking his cue from Kobal, Hoskar advances also; shield held firm; the accoutrements of the Earth Knight together to defy the chaos foe. Garden guard 'gainst predark demon indeed.

Sling at the ready he scans ahead for signs of movement, trying to make as little noise himself as he can; as if fearing to wake echoes to challenge the clangour of whatever foul ceremony is afoot.

Up above

Ohanzee can't make much out, and certainly can't see any evidence of other rooftop entrances. Meanwhile Rikki says he's discovers another hole about 30m to the south. This one is bigger and there's sounds of occupation.

Ohanzee backs off and then heads for the opening Rikki has found since sounds likely means targets!

By this time Amara and Henal have found another entrance a further 80m to the South West of the second hole. Noise is emanating from this one too. Neither brave has ventured a look over the lip as yet.

Crouching next to the familiar Ohanzee asks, via Eyota if necessary "Can Emesh-Ga tell whether we are above the enemy here or where Amara is? And we need to know when they attack so we can help!"

Henal agrees with Amara and asks which entrances they want to cover. He moves toward the initial one that they found looking ready to block that one.

There are ample loose boulders to weigh down the nets, though it will take all three of the Rangers to cover one hole quickly. The two smallest are the first to be discovered and the last.

From what the three braves can gather there is a large fight occurring on the archway and that Salen has been captured.

Ohanzee helps the otehrs with the nets and then in response to Henal "You go for it." as he at last looks over the lip of the hole for visible targets in bow range.
