"I suppose the priests would be more likely to help us if we worship with them, don't you think Nixa?" He turns towards the temple and enters it. When he see's the two ghostly priests, he bows, "May I join in with the ceremony?"

Silja returns the gesture and indicates that Tarosh and Nixa can stand with the others. Already the air is shimmering from magic as the guardians begin to open the way to the gods plane.

Temple

Magic flows and chants are taught, as stories, myths and half remembered tales are spun. Parts are given and roles played and through it all magic is gifted, imprinted on minds to become part of their very being.

Sacrifices are called for, both spiritual and physical, now and in the future, it being instructed that Waterday, in Fertility Week, Earth Season is the High Holy day of the temple.

Re: I'm not a Harpy plucker, I'm a Harpy plucker's mate

Amara left the place of worship with a happy step. They'd done some wonderful things for this area and things had changed fundamentally for her. Glancing at Ohanzee, it was obvious to her that things had changed for him too. Amara smirked as she imagined how much her life had altered in this day. She could feel the powerful pulse of the Earth beneath her feet in this area as she walked. Ther remained only one thing to do. To liberate Generts seed. She walked alongside Ohanzee as the though occurred to her "Ohanzee...do you think that the thing the baboons were talking about when we met them....the powerful thing they had...do you think it might have been Genert's seed?"

Henal Longgrass:
Henal stares at the runes. "Darkness movement darkness, what can that mean?"

Glama shrugs as he uses his shield to shine a light over all of the massive 3m high doors. There are no obvious locks, key holes or any other markings. The stone is different from the surrounding rock, black and unreflective.

"No idea. You got any detection charms that might help...For magic might be a start."

Re: I'm not a Harpy plucker, I'm a Harpy plucker's mate

Temple

Ohanzee throws himself wholeheartedly into the ceremony having made the decision that this is a good idea. He commits to memory all that he can manage using his training as an entertainer to try to memorise the stories and myths, prayers and songs.

He makes gifts of his soul, refreshed from his battle with the disease spirits after the night of dream filled sleep. As well as the fleeting gifts he offers a permanent portion of his soul in the temple, the second such gift in this place in twenty four hours and he feels the bond between himself and the temple intensify and his understanding of the bond between River and Earth grows.

Temple - Post Ceremony

(OOC: I expect that this is not for some time but I didn't want to ignore your post Amara :)

Once the ceremony draws to an end he starts towards the priest's chamber to remove the robes and other garb.

He asks the spirit "Whitewood said that the Aldryami Lords hid a seed of Genert down here by the River somewhere. She said that we must recover it and take it to the remaining Aldryami Lords."

"Do you know anything of this, can you tell us anything of the buildings over the river?"

He emerges from the temple with Amara and follows her gaze over the River as she speaks. "They said precious, not powerful. They also said 'her' and 'she'. I'm certain that what they spoke of was the poor pure harpy."

He turns to glance at her as she continues to look over the river and the wind picks up her red hair Beautiful. Like the red of the Earth where the clay comes to the surface.

Forgetting himself Ohanzee leans over and kisses her cheek, but then remembers himself and draws back as a wave of blood floods his cheeks turning them the same red! He walks quickly into the river.

"The door which protects the seed of Genert was placed there by powerful sorcery. Stories tell that it was done by the most powerful of the Aldryami Lords and that only he could open it or another of Tada's warriors who carried his authority."

After the ceremony, Tarosh listens to the others and chuckles to himself when Ohanzee forgets himself and kisses Amara."Even if Emesh-Ga cannot open it, maybe he can walk through the door and tell us what is on the other side?"  He too bows to the ghostly priests, "Thank you for your blessings, I will return next year to help keep the temple active." He nods to the others, "Time to see if the others have had any luck opening that door." He heads back in to the other passages to meet up with others.

"Amara, Nixa, Tarosh Ohanzee says as he crosses the river "Let's go see how the others have gotten on." and he heads for the complex above to find those searching there.

He eventually comes to the room that they are in and looks up at the door "No luck opening it then?"

Standing there barefoot he concentrates a moment but can sense nothing the other side. "You've tried feeling the Earth, sensing what is beyond?"

He looks closely at the runes on the door, "Have you tried covering the two darkness runes and then running your finger round the movement rune?" if no one has, he does just that.

Up above studying the doors

The new arrivals make their way through the various dark, smooth surfaced rooms and corridors, past the shaft of light shining down upon the carved floor in the main high ceilinged cavern, and finally in to the room of the doors.

Nothing happens when Tarosh tries covering the runes and any attempt at Earth Sense comes up blank.

"Let me try." Ohanzee says and steps forward placing a hand on both of the two Darkness Runes "I've a feeling that this would have been easier before I went through the wedding quest. I've changed since then."

He closes his eyes and wills the centre rune to turn.

As Ohanzee closes his eyes, "Try blowing on it, maybe its meant to show air not movement?" He takes a few steps backwards and looks at the door, "If earth sense is picking up nothing, maybe its a fake door?"

Tarosh is answered by the smaller of the two Darkness runes cracking down the middle, where Ohanzee's hand is touching.

Ohanzee's eyes open at the sudden cracking sound and he steps back shrugging and smiling innocently at the others "Well that did something" he says. He then tries the door again, though with the memory of crushing stone doors from the Mostali complex he is ready to dive for cover.

With the door still closed tightly Ohanzee shrugs and then turns walking back to the room where the light enters from the hole in the ceiling. "Perhaps the answer doesn't lie here." he says over his shoulder as he leaves the room and upon entering the larger room he goes to have a look at the carved floor where the light hits.

On the floor of the main room Ohanzee finds that there is a carved circle with Runes on it's outer edge and and a double row heading into the centre.

The shaft of light falls on what looks to be Earth, Stasis and the Air Runes.

Ohanzee sighs and stand up again scratching his chin in obviously disappointed thought. "Maybe it can only be opened on that day. That's a season and four days off and I doubt the Queen will want to wait that long on the chance that it might."

He looks up at the beam of light picking out the specks of dust in the air and continues "Or maybe it's nothing to do with it."

Then he draws his broadsword and holds it under the beam trying to redirect it to the spot that he previously tried pressing.

Tarosh follows Ohanzee back into the other room, "Whose granny?" he goes pale, "You don't mean Grandmother of Spiders, do you?" He steps away from the room with the locked door, "If that's the case, could that be hinting at what's behind it and if so, do we really want to open it?"
