Ohanzee Shappa:
Hazy memory here; am I right in thinking Detection Blank:
1. DB 2 will prevent 1 point detections (enemy, life, etc) and stay up.
2. DB 1 would be taken down by the detect spell of the same level but still prevent that detection.
3. A 1 point warding has the equivalent of a detection 1 spell to trigger activation
4. What about spirits, does DB help against detection by these?
I've got my rulebook to hand ("paw"?). I think:
1. Yes
2. Yes
3. Warding is a Rune spell, and in general 1pt Rune = 2pt Battle Magic ergo 1pt Ward is blocked by 2pt Detection Blank and knocks it down; 1pt Ward is blocked by 3pt Detection Blank and it stays up. At least that's how I used to play it. However, I'm hazy on this as the rules say Warding acts as "
a Detect Enemies spell" so I'm not totally sure whether or not it being a runespell doubles its force in terms of detecting enemies in the way other runespells are doubled.
GM?
4. Not that I'm aware of - the spell description says nothing about it, and Countermagic has no effect on spirits and Detection Blank "in other ways functions like countermagic".
Also: things are looking up for Hoskar, it seems. Maybe he'll still feed the body I used to use.
