Re: Rhino Rocklands

Up Above

The ceremonies and adoration of their goddess has finished, which is a good thing as the Vingans are now quite riled up thanks to the arrival of Angry Wasp and his goons.

"Let's go down their and beat his sorry ass" growls Hega No-Touching

"Yeah...Well...He's lovely when he calms down" mentions Coppa Sandswimmer

"Nah you have to get it through his thick skull he aint your fella anymore" spits out Lys All-Thumbs, the many digits hanging from her gear rattling madly as she talks

Re: Rhino Rocklands

Down Below

Hoskar Two-Feather:
Still trying his luck, bound by his promise unless attacked, Hoskar has fewer qualms. He idles up, still mounted; his lance in hand with its business end waving vaguely, if pointedly, towards the impala braves.

Oh come on. You can all play later he warbles chattily. You'll make us miss your tame Enlo getting his ass handed to him by the missus if you're not careful. Should be interesting.

Gaze flicking from brave to brave, ready physically for aggressive moves, he adds You know, I don't think you're our enemies at all. You'd have gone for us by now if you were. Let's just test that theory, shall we?

He mutters briefly to himself, still alert.

Kobal:
Kobal reins in Black Hoof at a spot equidistant between Angry Wasp and the three facing off against Salen.  He tries to keep an eye on both, particularly since the leader seems about to start heading up.

Just a domestic argument.  Still, matters seem balanced on a knife edge here, and he'd rather not be the one to push things over the edge.

Henal Longgrass:
Henal hearing Ohanzee's shout and seeing Wasp's response mutters Bloody troublemaker under his breath and stays mounted and ready to move if things kick off.

Hoskar's charm comes back blank.

It looks unless Salen rises to the bait the Impala braves are happy just to dump insult after insult on the Bison Brave.

When no assault comes Salen is hardly surprised, and if anything his derision rises.

"I thought as much. Bunch of gutless hyenas, all bark and no bite, hunting in packs because yer two friggin weak to act alone. Go scurry back to yer leader...I guess you don't call him, 'The Big Dog.'"

This riles them up no end

"Youse the one whose scared Bison fart. Look at you hanging out with a bunch of cat owners" it's one of the Foundchild hunters who'd bettered Tarosh and Hoskar earlier.

"So lazy youse let others do the hunting...Pah."

Up Above

He suddenly goes quiet and backs away into the cloudy mist before it gets blown or burnt away by the Bright Treasure now that the ceremonies keeping it there are over.

The young brave decides on a little more discretion and looks for another way down...

Amara shouted down as she started moving alongside Ohanzee down to where the others were gathering. "It is time for you to go away. You are not wanted any more. Any chance you had with her is gone and over. Did you think interrupting our ceremony on the High Holy Day was going to win you her favour? You may have a lot of positive attributes, but that alone might be enough to lose any chance you might have had."

As I thought: all mouth, this bunch.

Fond of talking about arses and farts aren't you lads? he oserves amiably. They must be on your mind for a reason. Bet those warm Fire-season nights, all men together, must feel far too short.

Out of interest, which one of you three gets to go in the middle when you all join up?

He leans forward on his rhino's back with an expression of intense curiosity.

Still intent on the three Impala lads below, Hoskar shrugs. Must have known they'd have been sore losers.

Re: Rhino Rocklands

Somehow Amara seems to lose Ohanzee on the climb, arriving in the midst of the a group of scowling Vingan warriors.

The Campsite is a scene with a mixed bag of Morokanth and Rhino folk watching from the sidelines whilst the Rangers mill about looking as if they all want to be part of a brawl.

The Impala braves on the other hand form a tight knot about their leader, quickly joined by the three braves who had been baiting Salen after his jibe at their boss.

Amara Brightsky:
Amara shouted down as she started moving alongside Ohanzee down to where the others were gathering. "It is time for you to go away. You are not wanted any more. "Ah mind yer own business...No one asked you" replies the jilted husband, who focuses his attention on his errant wife, having no idea what Amara was like

"So who's the brave this time, eh? eh?"

Angry Wasp's latest shout is met with a hoot of derision from the Vingans, which in turn gets a rude cheer from the Impala braves standing behind their boss.

"Who's the brave...I'll tell you, it's him" And Golden-Eye points at Henal causing all eyes to focus on the Bison brave.

"And he's twice the man that you are...In every way!"

Amara stepped forward pointing an angry and accusatory finger towards Angry Wasp "It is time for you to leave now. You have no idea how deeply you've disturbed us all. On the high holy day to both Orlanth and Vinga no less. As Orlanth says 'violence is always an option' unless you and your band leave now, you might not leave at all. If you have words to share with Golden Eye, you can pick another time and place to say them."

Folk can almost see the steam coming from Angry Wasp's ears....Eyes bulge and fingers rake the air in frustration and then turning on his heels he vaults on to his Impala and darts over towards Henal.

He's followed on mass by his cronies...

Re: Rhino Rocklands

Faser and more nimble than the large Bison Angry wasp reaches Henal first, but instead of attacking the brave he waves his fists up at the brave, shouting

"You can have her! And good riddance too....Don't think this is the last you've heard of us Prairie Farter!"

And unless stopped he wheels round and with his mob hightails it out of the camp in a mass of dust kicking, bounding animals.

Then it's quiet and those left behind can only look at each other and wonder....

Henal gives Angry Wasp a hard stare.

"Go then and don't think you can control people."

Seeing the impalas turn and depart he stares at them, but makes no move to attack.

"Leave them go we have much more important things to do before we fight again."

Having tracked across towards Henal, shadowing the three taunters, Hoskar breaks into yet another grin as the impala party makes tracks and waves a cheerily ironic farewell.

Byee then! Pop by anytime!

Hey - you forgot your winnings!
he adds, noticing the rock lizard from earlier still lying where it had been left before the kerfuffle.

What marvellously entertaining twerps, he remarks to the assembled company; clearly in excellent humour. Anyone for lunch?

As soon as the Impala riders have gone the atmosphere returns to normal. Greeshar rounds up some of he Rangers to go and make sure that Angry Wasp and his mob truly leave the Rocklands, leaving everyone else to get ready for the evening's celebrations, the natural end to a High Holy day.

Party!

A time to dance, sing, tell stories and drink what ever booze was to be found.

Re: Rhino Rocklands

Amara watched AngryWasp leave without passing judgement on him. She was sure he would cause problems for the Rangers in the future. If a person's greatness was truly judged by their enemies then the rangers all must surely be great. Golden Eyes could not be blamed for this, teh responsibility for all of this rested with Angry Wasp. She decided she'd not marry just one person, she'd have many husbands, one from each of the people and some wives to look after her herd while she was out making the land green.

Amara returned to the campfire, stories and dances, drink, smoke and fun to be had by all, for this truly was a good day to be alive.

Once the Impala war party has left, and with the rhino braves and Vingans having come down, Kobal makes his own way up the rock, bearing a javelin.

There, he makes his ritual to the Thunder Bird, calling to the spirit deep within himself, dancing with his javelin as he prays to the Feathered Rival.

Thunder Bird
Voice in the Wind
Voice in the Soul
Teach me your ways
Turn up, veer down
Swerve left, dart right
Whirl round, calm
Blast forwards, swirl backwards
Breathe slow, blow fast!

Thunder Bird
Winged Lord
Feathered Master
I dance with your gusts
Hear me!
Breath of Life
Storm of Death
Give me strength
To slay your foes!

Completed his dance, he falls to his knees and raises his arms in supplication towards the wind, calling for aid against the malign spirits of the world.

Re: Rhino Rocklands

Chest heaving from the exertion, Kobal gets to his feet, eyes bright, arms lowered, covered in sweat, but cooled the winds and spirits that whip about his body.

Although the winds continue here on the rock, it being the Thunder Bird's holy day, finally he senses that the spirits finished their own dance.  He bows in all directions, and makes his way down to the others, and the celebrations.
