Kobal:
"I'm in," says Kobal with feeling.  "I'll knock his head clean off his shoulders."

This makes Tokar smile evilly "Right, well you'd better talk to the elders first and then we can go remove some heads...Ah....but you're getting hitched and all...."

Amara added "The list of our enemies grows larger every day. I'll never forgive the death of Kaonu. Kobal, if you ever have a need for my spear in exacting your revenge, you need only ask." Amara nodded to show she was deadly serious, but not wishing to interfere in Kobals search for justice unless he wanted her to be there.

Re: The Bachelor's Camp. Mahome, Impala and tales to be told...

Tokar Eight Sable:
"Bastard little shit" exclaims the grizzled warrior "But you gave them the thumping you deserved yes?"

"Mmm we've lost a fair few head in the last week to him and his braves. Likely we'll need to make a counter raid to take him out."

Whilst talking Ohanzee can't help but notice the brave is eyeing up his horrible scars.

Ohanzee nods his agreement with Kobal and Amara "Aye, you can count me in too."

"We wiped a good few of them from the world. They were holed up in a thick thorn ticket and Wihakayda forced a channel through it and we charged them but he took a terrible sting, too strong for him and he has gone to charge with Great Rhino."

"He wasn't the only loss"
He adds glancing sideways at Kobal

Then he changes the subject "My scars? Got those at the Giant's Finger Holes. There's a greedy Cliff Toad there called Old Croak by the priestesses there."

"He's been there since the Green, used to be friends with the spirit of the oasis there but when Chaos came he was so greedy he tried to eat it and gave himself over to it."

"Long story short he swallowed me and almost finished me off"
he reaches into the pouch about his neck and pulls out the blue crystal "This was the only bit of purity left in him, a bit of the spirit he oasis tried to eat after going over to the Chaos. It refused to be tainted and refused to be consumed and lodged in his guts."

"I was about dead when I saw it and ripped it from him, an act that caused him to chuck me up and caused me to see what had happened back then."

"The spirit endures, trapped and protected by those that sought refuge from the consuming Chaos."

Temush catches the wayward Kimiss skin and since he is now holding two, offers it to Voras, "It must be a bit of a strain to have the four birds on one cadge" he mutters to the Sun Hawk brave "Much as all try to work for one goal, it may not look that way at times"

Voras shakes his head then points out "The one thing, our cause is greater than clan or Rival ties. When you take the oath you will feel it, you will know."

Temush makes an open-handed gesture (complicated by the remaining kumiss flask) and says "I look to do so as soon as it suits. 'Til then if we face up to Wasp's bows I'll bring my throw sticks to the chase." Turning back to Melock he adds (smiling) "I'm sure your wiles will be worth the watch Melock, though we of the Earth Bird have been glad to have Raven's help, not least us Sun Hawks, is that not so Dust Flies High?"

Whilst folk talk many of the other score or so braves present begin to sing, their meals finished and there being plenty of fresh kumiss to drink.

He grins, "I hope you'll still feel the same once you've traveled with us for awhile." His face becomes solemn, "I remember meeting at least one Raven when we first met your clan, though I can't remember his name." His smile reappears as he recalls the meeting, "We traded kumiss for mushrooms," he furtively glances at Amara, "though I didn't use those ones on the others."

"That sounds like Can't Blow Me Down" the ostrich rider says "or it could be Hide in Cover. Now if there was a man to have got free of that Broo band at the last, Hide in Cover is the one. But most like he did not know all was lost, and fought and died with the rest"

Kobal gives a grim smile in appreciation.  "We'd better start shortening that list then.  Thanks for your support, Amara, Ohanzee.  Together, we Wandering Rangers have seen and much already.  Together, we will do even more."

Ohanzee Shappa:
"We wiped a good few of them from the world. They were holed up in a thick thorn ticket and Wihakayda forced a channel through it and we charged them but he took a terrible sting, too strong for him and he has gone to charge with Great Rhino."

"And at that time," says Kobal, joining the conversation, "you will make your own to our captain Emesh-Ga, whose helm this is."  He taps the helmet he's wearing, even in the bachelor's tent.

"It may be that more folk will seek to join the band before we set out." the pygmy says "I should like to take the oath at the same time as them if that may be. I think I heard when I first saw you all, that you were on Tada's path. If you can speak of it here, I would learn more of your lord Emesh Ga. But do not fret if that too must wait for the right time."

"I think it is a tale worthy of being retold here. The Rangers welcome all braves from all tribes...and our stories grow grander with every passing season. Lord Emesh Ga welcomes all who would join our ranks, but he can see into hearts and only welcomes those who would hold to the vows." Amara scanned the room looking to see if anyone else in the tent showed interest in joining the ranks of the rangers "Every time we return here, it seems almost as though we need to bring along some spare rhinos on each expedition to bring back all of the wealth we recover."

Several braves push their way through the ranks of Bison riders, stern looks on their faces and each wearing their best hides and weapons.

Fallar Three Hoops, Rinhart the Stout and The Whisper of the Knife stand before those Rangers present.

The tent goes silent.

"All of you know me here" hollers the brave pushing back the Bison hide hood from his handsome face, a shower of braided locks spilling out of his broad shoulders, the light of the fire glinting off the three gold hoops about his neck.

"Killed three Sable riders single handedly and stood against the Basmoli raiders by our chieftain's side when we were ambushed last year. He gifted me my magical golden hoops and my bronze sword which has been dipped in the blood of three men and will send many more to join their ancestors before the year is out...I have come to join the Rangers, as Thunderbird commands me too."

Nudging his cousin out of the way Rinhart laughs happily. He's the centre of everyones' attention...

"Brothers...Braves...And slaves... Whilst my bloodthirsty Fallar talks of death I talk of how I shall be part of the greatest band in living memory...Braves who serve what once was and will be again. When the good grass will stretch from the east to the west and our people will rule it all. Thunderbird will soar above our herds and none will dare stand against us!"

As soon as his companion finishes there's a swish, followed by three thuds as a handful of blades hit the tent's central pole and a dark haired brave steps forward...

"My handiwork speaks for itself. No brave alive is as dangerous as i with a short blade. I wish to dedicate myself to your quest, earn fame and bring glory to our land. Thunderbird will guide my hand and my deeds."

Amara greeted each of the braves with a hug "Welcome to our number. The legend of the wandering rangers grows stronger with each passing day and now you rank among them. You will all reap glory for yourselves and for the rangers. The tribes will unite and ride over the Green again one day. This is a promise. Tada and the feathered rivals work together to help restore the Garden to that which once it was. I welcome my brothers to our band."

A quiet groan is heard from Melock's direction, "Great, first another Sun Hawk and now three more Thunder birds, where are the followers of Raven hiding?" He walks up to the Thunderbirds and smiles, fairly sincerely, "Welcome, the more the merrier."

He smiles, an action that makes his scarred face look like crumpled leather "Just a formality I'm sure." and he goes back to studying the gem.

Henal looks furious at the name of Angry Wasp and breaks off from conversation with some of the other Prairie Thunder braves.

"I want to stop that little shit from buzzing ever again though maybe making him a slave would be better than killing him. Want to ambush those bow users so they don't get a chance to shoot us up before we can fight properly with javelins and lances."

"I lost White Blaze to one of those dammed scorpion men, but at least we slew some of the chaos and know where they are to go back and destroy the nest later".

Even sitting Ohanzee easily avoids the kick and then listens to what Melock says as he stands.

He nods to the Raven and then raises his voice to the tent in general as he shifts back into the darker shadows "So we have Sun Hawks and we have Thunderbirds, are there no Ravens who wish to join our flock, join the Wandering Rangers?"

"There's Chaos to clear from our land, fortunes to be stolen from foreigners, treasures to be won and fame to be earned, stories to be part of, legends to become."

He looks about at the braves in the tent grinning "And now it seems more than enough Thunderbirds to run circles about."

Kobal greets the three Thunder Bird braves who have now stepped forward, with firm arm clasps and friendly but firm headbutts, apparently ignoring the Raven's jibe.

"If you join our band, you will share in grand adventures.  Great loot will you have, and great stories to tell at the campfire.  Though from time to time, your help will be needed to save the Ravens from another fix they've gotten themselves into," he says with a wink.
