I don't think folk will get slaughtered. What usually happens is that nomads try and chase out those in control of an oasis. No sense in slaughtering folk as that would just happen to you next time.

There may not be wholesale slaughter, but the Rangers are trying to unite the people of Prax, whereas a battle between the clans will only perpetuate the disunity.

The clans like to take over a site for a while for the bragging rights, (and the Oasis folk 'tithes') but when somebody comes out of the desert in a bad mood and tries to chuck them out they often just go with it, 'cause, well, they're nomads. They suspect that sticking around in one place makes you soft and lazy, and their beasts have chewed down their preferred browse, which makes it more work keeping them well fed.

I've not been paying much attention to your IC (think it's only fair as I don't think you can see the thread I'm on), but I've suddenly snapped back alert. Yikes. Wherever I am, that'll be a fair old crop of mayhem covering a wide area.

And siding with one clan or another would be worse, especially if siding with our own clans and reversing what we (Akala) have already said.

Anyway, it's all mute unless anyone is going to stop training this season and go off to the GFH?

Generally yes, but from Kobal's point of view:
- the Earth Knight's vision is of a Prax united;
- having met Kelab Besi and the Red Thorn shaman, he's getting a view that the Red Thorns aren't so bad (or so different) and it's more the shaman who's the bad guy, rather than the whole clan;
- he just married someone from the clan, and they have Rangers from that clan,
so there's mixed emotion in thinking that his own clan comes first.

Aligning the Rangers with the Thunder/Watchers/Shields in this case would (I think) the first action the Rangers have taken directly against another clan, and would presumably cause problems within the Rangers.  Sand Fox and Nixa will query their own loyalties, and Rangers who join from other clans in future might have the same doubts whether the Rangers are an extension of just one group of clans.

I still think Amara would ride off on her own....but the people that told her it was the Red Thorns are the ones that know her best and might well sit on her to make sure she doesn't do anything silly.

Let's wrap this up IC with what you wish to do. It looks like stay out of it, which is sensible from a politics point of view.
