I like the idea of using the fire spirit for the funeral. It wont leave where it is so you could have an indoor ceremony.

Voras, if you do get involved in trying to get the fire elemental in the forge o burn the bones give me a 1d100 roll vs your Fire rune and what ever else you might use. Then let me know what you might do.Unless the roll is a fumble I can't see what can go wrong. Mmm try your Fire speech too, a fumble will be trouble.

Tally-Ho will have no problem with folk going back into those rooms as long as nothing is stolen in front of him. He can be distracted!

When it comes to distraction, I can give him a danger report update maybe.

2) If security goes after the others inside the building, follow discreetly and see how best to make myself useful; either if it comes to a fight (I imagine covert disrupts from the rear might be most effective against a bloodless construct) or if it doesn't (comms rune to try and talk a way out).

Additional thought in edit: I wonder how breakable that flask of adhesive might be. I imagine a massive dose of Mostali Superglue would rather spoil a construct's day...assuming "security" is really a construct. GM - I'll roll my Communication and Oratory in case you need them to work out whether they might leave the Ravens (or even one of them) to be dealt with by yours truly based on my last to Tally-Ho.

Seriously, do you really think any Mostali we run up against is going to let us keep him? YGMV, but I'd personally be surprised if Openhandism would stretch that far.

I'm sooo relieved we didn't have to fight him. If I recall aright, the last one was due to be Extremely Deadly, and if it hadn't been for Amara's Amazing Javelin Strike we'd probably be missing a few more people after that encounter.

He's accepted you as Overseer, to the point he's ignoring other Mostali constructs.

The real question is...would another Mostali be seen as having precedent over you?
The gobblers part of the world machine might be completely different from the pavic Mostali environment and any Mostali there might have no authority at all in the gobblers eyes. It comes from an openhanded place after all and has accepted you as a position of authority from that place.

The Rangers are all about change, greening the wastes, uniting the clans, etc, and he's the embodiment of change, it follows where he goes. Just not sure in what ways :D

Overhang is the large rock to the right. There are a few crude murals on it's low roof and the floor is covered with the remains of scores of prickly pears. Grey dots are old campfires outside. Central green spot is where the chaos cactus stood.

Pretty sure Salen found healing cactus here.

Amara attacked Salen under the chaos cactus power.

Yarbu hates Manul cats. This place is sacred to him.

Fireborn asks to borrow the pots that Amara found, and mixing some water with them he sits down next to a blank bit of rock under the overhang.

Over the next half hour or so he paints a mural of the party defeating the chaos cactus, their meeting with Tak Eeela and the revival of Whispers.

"Tada defeats the Cactus" and he sits back to admire his work. "People should know what happened here." Then he tries to get some sleep until woken by Melock with the canteen.

Sleepily he examines it "Yes perhaps a fire rune. I'll fill it with some water….Go get some rest. I'll a have a look at it on my watch."

There was another I think, can't remember the name but killed at the camp at the base of the dry waterfall by the vampire type Basmoli followers, turned into a zombie, tried to attack Amara and Whispers but got his guts snagged on a bush.

 Will have to go look. Certainly two Black Shield braves, but perhaps three.

So, the summoning of the dead Yelmalion.

Suggestions?

Dig up his bones, place them in the centre of a circle made of scrub to represent a fire rune, his bones the centre dot and set light to the outer circle for good measure.

The canteen was his was it? If so using it as a prop might help, drum on it or put some seeds in it as shake it to sound like crackling fire.

Surround the circle with a square and those aiding sit at the sides or corners, do we have apprentices for all 4 rivals? We can try to invoke the Rivals too to aid in this.

Sounds good. Have to check if Salen is going the shaman route.

I would like input from everyone for this ritual.

Do we have anything I could fashion a rough wheel with? What with me being an Issaries type with "sky" as a rune as well as Comms, I'm thinking "wheels of the sun, wheels of trade/Lokarnos" linkage, some form of circling the main ceremony with some such apparatus maybe...creating a big circle in the dust around whatever's going on in the centre and thus creating a very big "sky" rune visible from...well, wherever Yelm is in the firmament at that point in the day.

Underlying thought: not being a Shaman type, I'm never going to be at the heart of this stuff, but it gives a role appropriate to Issaries and my runes and also keeps an eye out for any approaching nasties.

If others have better ideas, I'm more than happy to junk all of this; and in any event I might come up with something better over the weekend...

Rune wise Spirit is probably my most relevant as Air and Movement may not fit with a Yelmalion spirit.

Definitely want some kind of fire to attract a Yelmalion.

I'm sure we've got a bit of gold we can put in the middle with the bones, maybe in the eye sockets?

Remember that Yelmalions have no fire magic unless they have completed the Hill of Gold heroquest. They have the Light rune.

Right now I am consciously ignoring challenges to how I've interacted with the big mouth. Not so much "not talking" as "prioritizing missing vingan".

How long and how far are you lot willing to search?

Morri-C is a flesh and blood creature, right?  Not a metal construct?
Kobal will have less issue with a flesh and blood creature, though he'll still be wary of it given what happened.
But if it's a Mostali construct, he'd be more suspicious of their sorcerous work and have nothing to do with it.  He wouldn't detect as an enemy though  :)

Kobal will let Amara take the lead on this, since she appears the most interested in looking for Hega.  But his preference is not to go far beyond earshot (or at most communication via familiars).  How long?  An hour or two?  If there's no sign of Hega but the time we move on, we can always leave knots for her.

We'll not be moving on for a day I think, summoning the ghost (with luck) is pencilled in for midday and there are the other spirits in the area to speak with.

I think Amara is likely to spend some time looking for Hega, start in a circle outside the tramping area of the herd and circle around the area we're resting.

I think I would keep searching until I needed to go back to get enough sleep for the rest of the day, given we have to move the next day or until I find tracks at which point I'm likely to stay on her trail.

Although I might have individually given up sooner, I am utterly With Amara on this

Don't worry too much about roll results if rolling you runes. Whispers will have it under control. Maybe.

Non-shaman type here off on the periphery. Will do rune rolls in case it helps: no pressure to use them though (especially not if they're fumbles!).

I love this game's die roller. Three rune fails, comms almost a fumble, matches with eerie precision the nature of my last IC; which was consciously crafted to be below my usual standards (a bit shite, even) from someone short on sleep and a bit dispirited.

I'm going to wait for every one to chime in and get involved with the ceremony.  If it works you will have the possibility of learning important information. So you have o work for it :)

Forgot to mention that a tracking roll was fumbled. False lead and no sign of Hega. It was a nasty day for tracking. Random weather rolled.
