I'll write a post up for the weddings and the initiations over the weekend and then we're off escorting Angelika to Pavis and beyond.

I'll allow Folk to sacrifice for Rune magic. Waha initiates can get summon spirit of law.

I think I'll pass on Grandmother Spider, too much darkness for my runes.

He's not just doing it for himself, he's hoping that he'll somehow be able to use her powers of joining groups together in our quest to regreen the wastes.

with that in mind, he's short 1 Thunderbird and 1 Condor for the ceremony for a full house of Feathered Rivals. Also could those attending bring a live sacrifice, something small like a lizard or such should do.

As the Unicorn rider died, he didn't give away his share of bison from their travels. Am I right in thinking they got 4 each?

Also I'm going to Dragon meet in London 3rd December if anyone would like to meet up.

I've just realise Melock has got to speak to Zonta as he's got some blessed water from Kinope's spring for her as payment for training.

If we're going to have a mixture of mounts then Henal will stick to a Bison for familiarity.

Salen is taking a zebra. Kohana is pretty darned big so hardly lends himself to being inconspicuous.

Temush as an Ostrich rider you are fine riding your own mount to Pavis. Plus you are too small to ride a Zebra ;)

We'll all be moody and awkward if they start laying at Pavis, but fair enough. I don't want to be falling off some stripy bronco every 5 minutes.

I'll go for a zebra too, the most caracteristic one I can pick out, fast, nimble, strange pattern or the like :)

On beasts to ride to Pavis: we do have a space issue. I did the maths off the map and assuming Mother's Beasts is empty when we arrive (unlikely) it will be like a sardine can in there with all our bison and rhino. I will of course be alright as no-one in Pavis whose brain has not been replaced by a tangerine jelly wants to cross my mum. ☺

I Don't think there is a POW cost. You just need 50%+ in riding and a tribal weapon and to know 1 spell.

While trying to get some inspiration for Melocks wedding, I was looking up First Nation wedding traditions and they have some really interesting rituals and laws. For example, divorce, in I think the Navajo Nation, is very easy. If the man wants a divorce he takes all his belongings and moves out, if the woman wants a divorce, she puts all of his belongings outside the front door.

I will start us on the way to Pavis this weekend, unlike other trips I won't play it out day by day, but will concentrate on occasional places of interests/encounters whilst getting there. We will of course go via the Giant Finger Holes to pick up Hoskar and initiate our Ostrich rider.

Folk will of course now be Waha initiates. I will open a thread for that in a while and we can go back to it when i'm not so busy at work.

Thanks for the reminder.  I'll re-read the cult description(s) for Waha tonight.  As far as I can recall there hasn't been any explanation about the existing inter-tribe/clan rivalries in relation to Waha, has there?  ie is that something he fostered as a way to toughen up the people to survive in a harsh land?  Or was it something he worked against, but wasn't able to change the people about?  Or did the rivalries arise later, an independently of the Waha cult?

And who in the group has flying familiars?  Is Tarnessh with the group?  A bird would be the quickest way of passing a message to the war party.

Panurge - A large carefree male in his early 20s. Dark skinned, portly with straight brown hair tied down into a tail. He wears garb of zebra skins and always finds the funny side, his laugh being infectious. He keeps his dark beard close cut.

Kitsune - A strangely attractive woman in her late 20s, tall and lithe with raven hair and piercing eyes. She is a true entertainer, a storyteller and a master of dance. She fights like she dances wielding a scimitar stolen from a Lunar commander she seduced on a trip to Pavis.

Wassen-Me - He's young, even younger than the other Wandering Rangers having only just gone through his adulthood initiation at 15 years and through almost all those 15 years he's been in one trouble or another. Average size for his age he has a blond mop of unruly hair and blue eyes. He epitomises the thieving aspect of Raven and prefers the use of a mace.

chased out of their village a week or so ago by bandits  they have only the gear they could carry and aren't prepared for traveling in the Wastes.

Not sure who's read back or been CharGen briefed, but just in case my last IC in green amounts to:

We do get combat enhancements fighting in a square. Hoskar yells "form a square" from time to time and gets ignored as often as not.

Emesh-Ga's shield wot Hoskar carries is a Strength matrix among other things; Rangers for the use of.

Sehana's our best healer, last I knew I was second-best. Not very Waha, but I'm 60% Issaries.

As to what the stuff in blue means, when he's stoned enough IC he'll say... :)

Remember that part of being a Wandering Ranger is that you must hate Thanatari.

Temush has a healing4 matrix (or healing1 if he gets parted from it) A lot of Ranger stuff is not very Waha, that's probably why it appeals to the young bucks.

They are found in the Verge so I don't see why you wouldn't have heard of them. Unlikely you would have seen one. Hoskar may have.

I've been on caravans. All sorts of half known nonsense I can't explain. If asked IC all I can say is mournful howls in the distance once-heard.

Mertwig's Maze looks fun, but somehow I never knew about it.

I have heard of Mertwig's Maze but I think that's in the last ten years or so, didn't know of it way back when. I did know of Snit's Revenge though I hadn't played it, but my favourite 'silly' game from back then is Awful Green Things From Outer Space.

Amara gathering her gear disturbs the othe Rangers,  so they wake.

Who or what ever is coming will see the campfire and herd beasts from about 200 metres away, where the first bend in the ravine occurs.

Those on the ledge are far enough away from the fire to be in darkness.

Hoskar, there is no way you climbed that ravine wall in plate armour.

I was leaving the height to you lot but yeah I can't see anyone climbing in heavy armour.

Hoskar's  Rhino is quite a formidable deterrent if ridden.

I had much the same thought: Rhino + Plate armour = the look of a tough guy.

I still have this long-term mental picture of attackers expecting me to be one of the toughies and starting hammering away at this heavliy-armoured chap as the Rangers' real fighters pick 'em off unexpectedly. While I'm standing there doing my best to parry twice per MR with no attack and the attackers all wondering why I'm "holding back" when in reality I'm just not that fighty.

As Melock is further forward, can he see round the bend?

Those on the ledge can't see anything. It is pitch black. Plus the ledge is not the top of the ravine.
