Re: OOC N..N...N...Nineteen...

Matrix Creation creates a battle spell matrix.  It's a one-use rune spell.  And stackable.  One point of the rune spell is required for each point of the battle spell.

Re: OOC N..N...N...Nineteen...

Vigor is a 4 point battle magic spell, right?
So you'd need 4 points of the rune spell Matrix Creation.  But you can sacrifice for those points in parts.  So you can sacrifice for 1 point of Matrix Creation now, then later sacrifice for another point.  But only once you've got 4 points of Matrix Creation will you have a working matrix.

I thought it maybe different as its a fixed point spell.

Unfortunately not.  An advantage of variable point battle magic is that you can create a matrix with lesser points and still use the matrix, then later add points to the matrix.
Eg you could use 1 point of Matrix Creation to create and use a Healing 1 matrix.  Then later use another point of Matrix Creation to turn it into a Healing 2 matrix.
But with Vigor, can you can't use the matrix until over time you've sacrificed for a total of 4 points of Matrix Creation.

Henal will sacrifice 4 points of non-permanent Pow as he's definitely got to repay Waha after coming back from the dead.

If he can get Summon Spirit of Law by sacrificing permanent Pow then he will do it.

18:01, Today: Henal Longgrass rolled 97 using 1d100.  Pow gain.

GM, is it OK to sacrifice for Summon Small Gnome? Ohanzee is trying to gather together magics to help re-enact Jolantar The Outcast.

GM:
Everyone can make a Pow gain roll as you are taking part in the high holy day.

Anyone one want a rune spell?

Won't take a rune spell, though tempted.
Just missed his POW gain roll.  (As it turns out, if he'd sacrificed for a spell, then rolled for POW gain, he would have made it  :P  ).

He sacrifices 2 points of (non-permanent) POW, as required for Waha initiates.

You can sacrifice for the spell first and then do the pow roll.

Unfortunately there's only the summon spirit of Law Rune spell available. This temple is very weak as it's run by outcast shamans and in a city.

I'm thinking of fast forwarding a week, which will allow folks to collect rumours, hunt for info on stuff they need to find out, scout places, train, buy stuff etc.

Ohanzee, you can get a new spirit and familiar from the AA temple as suggested. Or you can get a spirit from the Praxian temple and provide a familiar.

I need to see Broosta at midday in the city admin building, but unless you have stuff to RPG it up with, can take that 'as read' and reproduce what I told the Sages plus a few extras suggesting caravan guards.

Re: OOC N..N...N...Nineteen...

Fast forward sounds a good idea. We ca make a few rolls and outline what we are after perhaps.

I have the silver Lunar fish charm that can hold a spirit if I get one at the Praxian Temple. From a meta point of view that might be detected/confiscated if I walk into a Lunar temple seeking to find Tella (don't tell Amara).

Might be fun trying to source some other creature to use here in Pavis, more exotic options to pinch, erm purchase :)

Done, I think I'll keep the Pow.

Melock wants to buy some weapons and visit the Earth temple to ask about snakes.

Is the spirit offer from the Waha temple open to all?

Gronya Rumble's sister

A single bronze key

A piece of cured hide covered in writing also Sartarite.

from The Tower
Box with a handful of gems
A carved bone, covered with script.
The untapped ornate chest from the leader's room holds only clothes but Hosakr reckons it is worth lots
A small inlaid bronze tube
a pouch containing 35 silver coins, foreign looking and old, and a small gem
an ornately decorated shell, covered with gold and small semi precious stones,
a small cloth wrap filled with several uncut agates
and a tightly rolled parchment sat in a bamboo tube.
Box with a handful of gems
A carved bone, covered with script.

400lunars of trade goods (grain and wool) and ten meat impalas, payment for killing the trolls down river.

And there's Butari's Birds - though flying familiars seem to get shot at quite a lot.

After a week in town, you folks can add 5% to Pavis knowledge and 5% New Pavis Streetwise, both Knowledge skills starting a 0% if you don't already have them.

You know all the buildings in old town and have visited a few bars in other locations.

I'll give a few paragraphs on what has past.

Please put down here or in pms anything you want to do in that week.

Re: OOC N..N...N...Nineteen...

Temush will find time and privacy at the lodging room in Becx's to pass on to the others, Avalarn's Uncle's suggestion that a good way to contact the Garden Elves would be to get an invite to the Real City sacred time rites where some Aldryami traditionally appear.

Remembering that he got distracted in Garhound, he will also visit the Healer's hall and offer them half of his stock of herbs gratis. He will mention the encounter with Dukakis Pelithor.

He will also clean up a piece of leather/parchment from his trade goods and try to paint Temple Court and its gods from the Holy street end.

Having a personal interest in short people, if he sees a dwarf about town he will follow him (in what he thinks is a discrete fashion) to try to find out what sort of person he is.
