Henal Longgrass:
Smokin'

Henal sits by the fire playing with the Rikki the familiar bound in a black manual cat and saying little for the time being.

Tarnessh Listens-To-Silence:
In reply to GM (msg # 46):

Smokin'

"Sure. The Zebras have seemed complacent the last few weeks. We should keep them on their toes." Tarrnesh said.

Farosh grins "I've already asked Henal here and he said he'd come too. I'll let you know when we're leaving."

Feather Wait seems surprised by the blood red crystal "Where did this come from? I have not seen it's type before."

Ohanzee steps out of the darkness just in time to spy the gem in Feather Wait’s hand and the question posed to Melock. I’d not go near Amara with your pet, not for some time.”</blue> he suggests.

As he does so he pulls a gem from the pouch about his neck ”If it’s from the same place as mine then it’s from the tomb Emesh Ga, but also not from the tomb.”

He grins ”A better question is when is it from, mine is from the time Emesh Ga lived, when the tomb was a treasury I believe.”

The shaman shoots Ohanzee a slightly worried look as he takes the blue crystal from his hand "Likely it was a bauble already in your possession that was changed by the deed"

He hands it back "It has the look of water...A tear drop, or blood of a great Water spirit injured in the Gods war. You will not know for sure until you are attuned to it."

His cloak ruffles in a none existent breeze.

Re: With the Clans

After binding Taya

Ohanzee takes the crystal back and looks it over and as he repeats ”Something already in my possession was change. That would explain it.” he absentmindedly rubs at a point on his chest about where his sternum is.

Then slipping the crystal back into his pouch he says ”I am already attuned to the crystal in which Enapay resides. Maybe it will fetch a good price in trading. If we are moving to the Zola Fel then there may be those about the water that would treasure it.” he muses.

Then with a change of subject matter he asks Feather Wait I seek knowledge that I would have gone to Dowenhowee to find before.”

Dowenhowee always said that before she was old, before even she walked the walk, she was a great dancer and she honed her agility as a way of getting closer to Raven. She recognised that I would never be big and strong, would never be able to take the damage that others can, but that I might be able to avoid it more than such braves.”

“She told me that I should practice my dances, build on my agility because it would hold me in great stead in times to come. For this reason then I seek training in improving my agility from our society, but I wonder too whether there are any secret paths that Raven can show us that lead to extra ability in this?”

Re: With the Clans

After binding Taya

Ohanzee ventures another question ”And on a more mundane matter we, the Wandering Rangers, may be going to the city to the West as some of our number have already said they wish to for their own reasons but also to try to recover some of Emesh Ga’s possessions taken by thieves from there some time ago.”

His use of the term thief conveys a certain contempt for those characters he has never met, even though he would not consider his own such activities in the same light.

”Old Dowenhowee taught that we should learn from others of the Raven society where ever possible and I was thinking that the knowledge and abilities of those like us in amongst the foreigners in the city might be very different from our own, different and useful.”

Melock looks shocked, "You stole it from the Earth Temple, no wonder Gadesha was after us" he shakes his head, "I found mine in the wyverns nest, near all of those coins" he listens to Ohanzee's questions, "I think I will wait until I can afford to give up more of myself, before attuning my crystal."

It's Ohanzee's turn to smile "I was already at my sense and she was after us not because I had it, but because..." he shrugs "Well because between us we both brought an unexpected outcome to the party."

And then turning to Feather Wait he asks "Can a crystal be un-attuned?"

Feather Wait is just watching the two braves with an odd look on his face. He's smiling, but there's something else....A tinge of respect...A hint of ridicule....It's hard to tell.

"Yes, you can, but then you must go through the same ceremony to re-attune to it at a later date. Any spirits held within it will vanish." comes the reply.

"Tell me what you think you achieved at the Earth Complex by meddling with the ceremony....And...I have not forgotten what you have asked both about Ravens elsewhere and special paths that we may follow to further our knowledge. These I think will best wait for another time, back in my compound and away from prying eyes and ears...."

Re: With the Clans

Replying immediately he says "Well I wasn't trying to achieve anything..." but trails off as he remembers. "No, not quite true, I almost forgot my original thought." He nods "Yes that's right, I was trying to bring Raven with me to the ceremony. I called to him when I realised that we were going to godtime. I thought that he'd like to be a part of that history."

He frowns and cocks his head a little rather like a dog as he thinks "And he is now but was he before I wounder. Ashfoot Earth Healer said that his theft of the horn had happened before, but Tada's rather than Emesh Ga's or was it the other way around. Anyway, I wonder if he'd done it before that ceremony or if that allowed him to do it?"

Angelika Snowspear:
Inside Angelika and Barraks tent
The two women exchange glances again, but this time it is Angelika who replies

"Well it seems that you have followed her path Amara. Vinga puts her community first before all else and it is our job to worry about our people...To defend them...To aid them when needed.

Do not fear, your time will come as it always has for our goddess. When all else fails Vinga steps up to the mark, throws her javelin, holds up her shield or casts her magic. In their hearts the others know your worth, but they are men...Brash, awkward and young.

Lead them. Show them the true way and believe me they will follow. Do not give them reason to doubt you or to fuel their anger.

It will be you who saves them and puts them on the correct path. Soon we shall initiate you, amongst the sisters of our cult, until then stay strong."

Amara shrugged "I know that is the role of Vinga and it is one with which I am more than happy. I seek to protect all that is precious to me, and nothing is more precious than family and friends. It's just frustrating. I think the others know my worth, but it is always me they argue with or dismiss or ignore and they are boys. Even saying hello to some of them is enough to fuel their rage. I'll continue as I have, I cannot do otherwise."

Amara relaxed happy to be with people that could understand her "Kobal is the one the others turn to. I can only provide guidance for the situations where others are acting foolish...and that happens often. Make sure they don't do anything foolish, except for Melock. That boy frustrates me no end and he has no consideration for anyone other than himself."

Amara unfolded a bundle she'd brought with her, to reveal a comb and a hair ties. "Ummm...Whispers has been occupied recently, otherwise I'd ask her to do this....but I have three rhino now. I was wondering if I might ask you to comb and braid my hair." Amara asked shyly.

After Binding Taya

"I just saw the mushrooms, and thought, well to be honest," he laughs, "I didn't stop to think that much, it just seemed the right thing to do. Everybody seemed to enjoy themselves" he stops and goes slightly pale, "well everyone other than Amara, something happened to her and she got hurt, that's the only part I didn't enjoy." he reaches under his sleeve and takes off the bone bracelet with the silence matrix in it, "earlier in the trip, I found this" he passes it to feather Wait, "I've been told it was made by the cannibal cult, when I'm under the effect of the spell, I feel very hungry"

Axe training

One evening, not long after they get back, Melock goes in search of Ga Axe, when he finds her, "Ga Axe, how are you?" he smiles sweetly, "When I was at the Earth Temple, I saw many people with axes and it occurred to me that if I wanted to follow in Emesh-Ga's footsteps and also help bring back the Wastes to how they once were, I should learn how to use an axe, would you be able to teach me?"

Melock is approached by Zonta the following day, she agrees to teach him the axe on one condition

"Promise that you will protect Amara, be a brother to her and iAd her in her future quest to the West. It will come one day that she must head that way. Do not fail her...."

She then informs him that she still expects to be paid with a gourd of water from Kinope's spring, blessed by the spirit herself.
