I'm good with Marcus' plan. It seems to cover every base rather well.

Sounds good. I'm going we can keep Uriel with us and just shield/hide his presence though.

Re: OOC
Sounds good! I just wanted to make sure y'all had a plan moving forward and didn't want to try and pick up any gear on planet before moving off.

Uriel is still NPC'd, but I'm not angling for this so we can more easily set him aside. The player had a fairly elaborate backstory and character info, and that allows me to kinda play Uriel how I think he was intended to be played when he becomes story relevant.

Devi is reclusive enough that you all are unsure of what sort of detection technology they might have available.

I'll aim to get a post up here today.

Actually, one quick question: What's the legality of an Assault suit on Joppa? Is that something we can just buy (for the listed $6k, or more)? Edarr feels like he should have one for any more forays into dangerous space stations.

Re: OOC
The Joppan economy is built largely around hunting and so they're very much pro-gun, but wouldn't have that sort of military hardware. To find an Assault suit, you'd likely have to look on a planet with a larger population and military (like Devi, Ping Ahn, or Yelantua) or work some underground contacts.

Ok, I'll hold off for now. Maybe the mercs we've hired can hook Edarr up when we've built a bit more of a relationship with them.

Re: OOC
Actually if we have the funds I was hoping to grab an assault suit, too. Is there somewhere on the way?

Re: OOC
You all are currently sitting on about 27,000 credits. You could probably find assault suits on any of the core planets (Devi, Ping Ahn, Azin, and Yelantua), but it would take some effort, there's no "Spacemarines R Us" or anything like that.

Re: OOC
So, a little bit of OOC knowledge for you. The "Rejuvenation Pods" I mentioned in the local headlines are an opportunity to either re-spec your character, or convert them over to the new SWN 2 ruleset. It will cost you in-game credits, but I wanted to give people the opportunity to check into it more in case it interests anyone.

Ooh, I may need to dig more into the revised rules then. I feel like Edarr could be better arranged to match what his role ended up being on the ship.

Re: OOC
We're here based on information Marcus uncovered, right?

quote:
After a moment's consideration he added, "From what your search found, I believe the best place to look would be Devi"

Should we head down to the surface and try to make contacts, or is there someone specific we already know about?

Re: OOC
ok, I survived a pretty brutal week at work.

Anything you all want to do before I move the IC thread forward and have you land?

as a reminder to our non-American players, this upcoming week is Thanksgiving week in the U.S. Posting rate might still remain a bit low.

Apologies, been slamed here as well. I'm happy for you to move the IC thread forward (in part as I expect next week to be mildly snowed too)

Re: OOC
Thanks Luke, I hope you, and all of my other American players had a great Thanksgiving

I'm really sorry about this, but I think I need to take a step back from the RPG hobby for a while. I've been absolutely buried at work lately (as a few posts on here have indicated), and it doesn't really show any signs of letting up. With my personal life also a bit crazy right now (if humans had D&D alignments, all toddlers would be chaotic neutral at best) I just simply don't have the time to keep up with the hobby. Coupled with that, my workplace has also recently blocked dropbox, google drive, and the mapping software I use, all important tools to my GMing. I may also be starting a new job soon (at the Library of Congress, which would be fantastic) which could also make maintaining and GMing games difficult.

I'm not going to be shutting down this game, I'm hopeful that, in a month or two, things will be getting back to normal (but that might not happen) and we can start up again if you're still interested. I'm sorry to put the brakes on this, but you all have been loyal gaming partners and friends for years now, and I didn't want to just ghost on you.

I wish you all the best in your future RP pursuits!
