CHAPTER 10, Part 2
The Nine Hells
Mid January

The P.A.R.T.Y. is divided into two squads at the moment: Team Tunnel, which consists of Boreas, Maeve, a polymorphed young-green-dragon Keef, and Chubbs, plus OSA mages Drake, Les, Stevens, and Jenkins and their steward, Reginald; and Team Spire, which consists of Lyriel and Zuriel along with an army of Crusaders led by Knight-Captain Edrahil.

Team Tunnel

Keef, newly transformed into a young green dragon, struts his stuff and waits for an opening during which he can attempt to distract the two erinyes patrolling the chasm that stands between the P.A.R.T.Y. and the rest of the tunnels.

Les is not currently with the group, having rushed back into the tunnels to seal off a passage by dismissing a spell they used to get through it earlier.

Team Spire

The knight-captain barks a command to his vanguard, sending a dozen men hurtling toward the entrance to the tunnels with orders to arrest anyone they find. He then turns toward the spire's staircase and nods.

"You are correct, of course. We should secure the spire before we commit our full attention to ferreting out the remnant of their forces. And we can deal with our dead and theirs at that point, as well. Upward!"

With that, the knight-captain begins to ascend the spiral staircase, followed closely by his standard-bearer, Lt. Faye.

Zuriel and Lyriel exchange a look, and follow Edrahil and Lt. Faye upward.

In reply to Zuriel Silendril (msg # 2):

Maeve crouches quietly, waiting for Keefdragon to fly out and distract the erinyes so that the rest of them can sneak by.

In reply to Maeve Hassan (msg # 3):

Keefdragon snorts and paws at the dirt of the tunnel, then tests its new wings carefully.

Quickly, he's buffeting gusts that blow cloaks and hair to and fro.

With a nod, he takes wing and darts off down the tunnel toward the waiting demons.  When he gets closer, Keefdragon lets out a high-pitched roar that you're pretty sure translates to: "WHEEEEEEEEEEEE!"
