CHAPTER 15
Nekria, Drynn
Recap of the General Disposition of Drynn
The bulk of the Serpentsworn Army was last seen besieging the port city of Imbraer, which is nearly 500 miles to the north. This city is the de-facto capital of Morachiga's New Dominion, and is being defended by a mixture of local troops and an influx of Heartseekers.
Lord Morachiga Choso, Sir Ravn Culley, and Rachel are among the rearguard of the tyrant's forces, and have yet to enter the city.
Foist and a collection of siege engineers have infiltrated Nekria and are setting up shop in a nearby warehouse.
Fluffums is presumed dead.
Lyriel is also missing, far as the P.A.R.T.Y. knows.
Recap of the General Disposition of Everywhere Else
The Emerald Champion of Tassada has consolidated control of Hae'driel, which is now in an uneasy state of de-facto rebellion against the Shining Empire.
Lo'driel is being governed by a triumvirate comprised of Selena (high priestess, Ma'or), Knight-Captain Edrahil (Zuriel's father), and Captain Ryze (Imperial Warden).
In actuality,
Lyriel is wandering the Hells looking for the demon who has imprisoned the soul of every Vesper to have ever served Tassada, including her brother's.
Ka has gained entry into Hell and his forces are ostensibly waging war against Kazul and the other powers of that realm.
Kordica's forces have been largely routed and have not been seen abroad in any significant capacity.
Gaelia's navy is keeping the oceans safe for their own merchant ships, but have stayed out of the war as yet. Ground forces under General Hassan are mobilizing the deal with an increasingly violent slave revolt that is threatening the Sultan's peace.
Darris's last-known location was lurking in his self-made paradise, which is populated by "freed" slaves.
The location of most other named PCs (A'tril, Mah'mout, Ptolemy, Cassie, etc.) is unknown.
Local Disposition
The embattled capital of Drynn is current being besieged by three armies: the Glass Tyrant's, the Matron's, and King Prak's. The tyrant's forces have breached the southern gate and are engaged in active combat with the city's defenders. To the north, King Prak's forces have begun to actively batter at the gates, but have yet to gain access. The Matron's forces have split to assault both the north and the south, but they have yet to enter the city on either side.
P.A.R.T.Y. Disposition
Boreas,
Keef,
Maeve, and
Auriel are all gathered about 100 feet from the finely wrought iron gateway that isolates the Serpentsworn Cathedral from the rest of Nekria.
Carnaue, Maeve's griffin, and her pet cleric are also on-hand, though the former looks far from happy and the latter looks petrified. The griffin just looks hungry.
The cathedral itself is difficult to make out in any great detail from this side of the gates, though you can tell that it is a vast, towering structure that's as much a fortress as it is a church (Akin to this, but not dilapidated:

The courtyard forms a spacious barrier with a radius of about 100 yards between the cathedral and the iron gate, making crossing the gap quickly rather difficult. A paved walkway leads around the grounds and from the gate to the front doorstep, while the rest of the courtyard is lush with indigenous swamp grasses, reeds, and stunted trees. Trios of Serpentsworn patrol the grounds, mostly armed with shields, maces, swords, clubs, and staves.
Keef's fire continues to blaze in one of the upper-tier windows, while at the very top of the structure, the enormous bells continue to unleash thunderous peals at a regular cadence.
The symbol of Kazul is prominently featured on the wrought-iron gate, but there does not appear to be a sentry on duty.
