Re: OOC: On the Side
Random does rock. I leave it up to you guys, the players, to submit a VnV character for approval. You can design it, randomly roll it, design it with me, design it on the roller as outlined above, but bear in mind that ther should be the following guidelines:
1: You get ONE reroll, on anything, at anytime. sometimes you get rerolls as a bonus.
2: If you go Random,
1d6 = 1-3 =male, 4-6 = female
Age is 13 +2d6 (15 to 25)
Weight is 5d6 x10 if male, 5d4 x 10 if female
If you are a robot, all of your stats are 15
If you are an Android, all of your stats are 17
You can pick:
Str: 13, End 13, Agil 15, int 15, Cha 15 to start
or
Str 15, End 15, Agil 15, Int 13, Int 13
Or
Roll 2d10 for each. (2 to 20)
you need a name, a secret id name, and then need to make a total of six percentage die rolls, in a series. This will determine your background/ origin. 80% of you will be from Beacon City, and more than likely will be human, but alien, extradimensional, and out of time backgrounds are possible.
THe world is like our world, science works like our science more or less, but:
1. There seem to be Aliens, of some kind. At least there are powered individuals claiming to be aliens.
2. There seems to be "magic" it is undetermined if it is super psionics or supernatural power at work. people are scared of it.
3. Transportation technology is slightly more advanced in this world than in ours, and this world has a much more robust space program, with permanent space stations at the north and south poles, and a hub at the equator.
4. Governments keep an eye on Superheroes, but dont go crazy and try to register them or anything. The UN maintains the hidden Global superprison.
5. Most people at work in the Superhero field that dont have a record, arent an antihero, etc. follow "The Code". Silver Knight's 1954 book on Superheroics and Ethics. This generally defines "good". It is NOT a requirement, and most younger heroes scoff at its boy scout views.
6. Enhanced individuals have always been around, many theorize, but there was an explosion of them in the post war world (1946+), leading many scientists to speculate on use of atomic weaponry in tests as being a species trigger.
