Happy New Year!

Consider yourself lucky, Rosabelle! I have no life, so I have RPOL open 24/7 even when my computer goes to sleep.

Haha! I do that with my other site. RPOL is now getting the same distinction.

I am safe in London, and my RPOL password still works on my B&B's computer, so we are in business.

Flying Home (I hope)

Tomorrow (Sunday March 3) I am scheduled to be travelling back to the US, so I probably will not be posting again until I reach home. Since the prediction is wind and rain in London when I am supposed to leave and 4 -6 inches of snow in Pittsburgh when I am supposed to arrive, I am by no means confident my flights will be on schedule, or even existent. I hope to post by Monday, but I may be optimistic.

I got as far as Pittsburgh Sunday and waited there because  a big snow storm was supposed to becoming through --in fact, it was not as bad as predicted, so I came home today and should be posting normally hereafter.

I think Dash raised some very practical objections to our just jumping into the black ship and taking off. Frankly, I had forgotten Bourbony had impounded the ship, and I did not think abut bringing baggage.
On the other hand, just piling into the black ship and taking off seems like the best way to keep the story moving at this point. Can we agree on some revisions to the backstory just to permit us to keep moving?

Eh!  That was just me playing the character.  For myself, I have no problem stealing the Black Zep.

However....

Perhaps someone more...diplomatically oriented, shall we say?...could point out that we might petition the Queen to allow us to use the Black Zep in our continuing fight against the scoundrels who just tried to blow her up and from which we saved her royal buttocks!

Yeah, it was such a good idea that GM StarMaster had already done it, before I even wrote that post ^_^

I gotta stop reading the OOC's before I read the Adventure posts...

I must admit my regular habit is to read the OOC before the adventure posts, since OOCs may involve planning reflected in the adventure. But I suppose, as here, it can be the other way round.

Faith and begorrah--a Happy St. Patty's Day to you all, too!

Actually, Dash, it's not so much that you should read the adventure posts before you read the OOCs, but you should definitely read both before you post to either of them!

I do beg your pardon, good sir, but are you addressing me?  I have no idea who this Kaspar gentleman you speak of is, sir, but I assure you, he is not me.

The name has summat of a Slavic sound to it, perhaps you should turn your attentions to some more exotic locale for this person you seek?  Somewhere in Scandinavia--or Poland, perhaps?

In our world, radio was invented by Marconi, not Bell. (Bell invented the telephone). In the version of Space 1889 I have, the equivalent of radio is the Hertzian Wave Communicator. It is listed as an invention some PC might create. However, as this current conversation has mentioned, it appears that in our game it has already been developed, or adopted, by the Vril.

My premise is that with the invention of the ether propeller in 1868, the schedule of inventions accelerated.

Also, it wasn't that Bell invented the radio, but that he was the first person to use the term for 'wireless telegraphy'.

Yes, Hertzian wave (also known as ether wave) was being worked on by several people at the time, including Tesla.

yeesh!

Please join with me this May the 5th, of the Year 2019, in wishing our good friend StarMaster a most Happy Birthday!

Born sometime in the middle of the Last Century--that would be the 20th Century, ya friggin Millenials!--StarMaster is now "Old Fart"-years old.

So please wish him well--you may need to speak up--and congratulate him on being your favorite GM.
