I'm travelling to visit someone today, and will actually be less than an hours drive away from Rannoch. Small world, guys :)

Re: OOC Discussions

I envy the chance to travel in Scotland.  I had a day in Edinburgh once many years ago, but that is all.

Yeah, that's the idea. Forgot to give them access here, so they will probably say hello at some point.

Re: OOC Discussions

I must say I'm impressed with the (assumed) ruthlessness of Denholm's post about the South Carolina barbeque etc. I hope the villains are equally impressed.
It reminded me of Tommy Hambledon putting the wind up the Soviet agents in "Handcuffs Can't Hold Ghosts" -- "Hostages can't save you. They can't hold the roof up when the mines explode. Hostages indeed! Hostages, ho, ho!" He said afterwards he hadn't enjoyed himself so much since he played the Demon King in a village pantomime.

Re: OOC Discussions

I second that! Denholm's words had me feeling we have the upper hand here. It certainly convinced me, lets see what Fritz has by way of a counter argument.
Well worded and well spoken sir! Like a chap!

Re: OOC Discussions

Denholm wouldn't hurt a fly -- but he used to sit around a campfire listening to heavy-handed Teddy Roosevelt talk about "teaching The Spaniard his place"! ^_^

Hopefully Dash won't have to do more than put a couple shots into a mound of dirt -- although he doesn't plan on letting any of the miners actually get hurt...

And yeah, at this time, the BBQ Grill hasn't been invented.  And South Carolina has a long barbeque tradition which goes back to the carribean isles.  In a manner almost identical to a Hawaiian Luau, they start a fire in a pit -- get the reference? ^_^ -- then lay a grill of either metal (used in the Carolinas) or green branches (used in the Carribean), then they lay out the meats, cover with either damp burlap (the Carolinas) or wetted palm/banana leaves, then lay more coals down on top of that. At a Luau they would then bury this, leaving a hole just large enough to admit enough air to let the coals smolder.  In the Carolinas & Carribean they skip the burrying.  Let all this slow roast for several hours, then carefully remove the layers, and take up the meats and "pull" it; that is, shred it with either your fingers or a pair of forks.  Once it's all "pulled", you dish it out and either chow down, or slather a good tomato, vinegar and brown sugar based sauce all over it...and go to culinary heaven ^_^

Now.  Anyone for a little "long pork"? ^_^

Re: OOC Discussions

Thank you for the recipe, but Grimsby prefers his pork "short" if that is the correct term for the non-human variety.

Re: OOC Discussions

Is it possible for everyone's last names to be added to their characters? Given the period, Stella will not feel comfortable always using given names for these relative strangers (except you, Mercy dear), but her Player's memory isn't that reliable. Character descriptions would also be very helpful.

I have re-written the posts formerly by Vanessa on page two of 'Clouds over Scotland' to reflect Stella's character, should anyone be interested.

Mercy, you and I should probably work out our prior connection in Private Messages.

Re: OOC Discussions

I see I wrote my own name wrong in my previous post. I have corrected it now   --Grimsby Baskerville. As far as I can tell, I do not have the access to edit my character's name as it appears in the game posts. That would be up to the GM.

Re: OOC Discussions

Okay, updated everyone's name.

This was my first RPoL game and in the beginning with just a few players, first names seemed more friendly. It didn't occur to me (then) that if I added players down the line it would be helpful to have full names.

Remi doesn't have a last name.
