My character's fully statted already, and didn't have room for totems. He does, however, have room for every social merit in the book. Like, all of them. Which stack with each other. ;)

Well I guess I should say hello. The storyteller has wrangled me in for a second attempt at this.I See ghost is back for another round too.

I am the Get of fenris, Ahroun, Lupus. If anyone is going to be socially ungraceful amongst the humans it will be my character. Though completely lovable my character is a meat-head and not a bright one at that, a hulk but missing the Bruce Banner half. He has no aspirations on leadership, he is a soldier through and through.

I have taken 5 points in the totem background. And last time we all voted on the totem my vote still stands as the great bear for the mothers touch and another strength point. (Hehehe 6 strenth in human form. RRAAHHH! I will crush all.)

Though I must admit the owls, ability of flight in the umbra for all pack members was cool.

Is there a social roll I can make against that 'ceremony of disgrace' or whatever it is they're doing? I've got SUCH a pedigree I'd in theory be able to influence the outcome.

About the totem, I think the best war totem is Wolverine due to the unlimited rage and extra stamina.
Owl is cool I like her.
I would say no to the Bear as the honor penalty is too serious.

I had to go and pull out some old .PDF's for the wolverine totem. I could be tempted with wolverine but I don't know if it is in the book the storyteller is using. My only qualm with it is you must use rage in combat .. Does this mean if you have rage available (which of course you will as you can't use that last point) at the start of your turn in a combat round you have to use it? Or that you need to use it at least once in a combat scene?
Also the whole pack may be more prone to frenzy :)

I would like to know how others feel about this totem before I commit to the wolverine as I am toorn between the extra rage and stamina and the flight owl offers, but it sounds cool. If the storyteller will allow it.

I have only allocated 5 background points to totem. Can we afford it?

I will make this easy. I will not be allowing wolverine as a totem option for the beginning pack creation in this game. I have stated in character creation that the 20th Anniversary edition is being used for creation and as the wolverine totem isn't in this book it isn't available to players at beginning of play. This is not to say I won't allow the the gaining of this totem through game play.

Please select your totem and Alpha soon as I would like to start play. As you all may have seen the main story is now open for posting.

I will try to check what totems we can take from that book.
I would suggest all of us should spend the same background points on the totem at the beginning, or  none should spend and gm should lower our Xp until we paid enough for the totems. Spending on this should be balanced somehow.

What we need is an active alpha, one post per day minimum, it is more important than any ic trait.

I won't make characters spend the background points on the totem background, or sacrifice exp to it. Just know that if you do the totem will be more powerful and be able to help the party more. I would also make the point out that the totem will watch over the whole pack but is likely to show favoritism too those that have contributed background points or experience points gained in game play to strengthen it.

Silver Fang Ahroun with high charisma is the logical choice. There's stronger then me in the pack, physically, but strength doesn't make one a leader.

I'll take a look at Totems.

Laughing Fury is Ragabash Lupus Fianna, so fairly social and mental. Physical is not his strong suit but he's not a complete slouch. I don't mind if someone else really wants to be Alpha but I will let you know in advance that you may have some trouble with my character who is curious AND impatient. Heh.

As there is this many lupus in the pack I guess the Owl is the best totem for us from this book. Sneaking is cool with her help.

The pack leader position is not a walk in the park, It is much better to be a good beta than an alpha in most situation...

If both of you want it you can fight for it just to make sure you will earn your position. (But do not forget pure breed is very powerful in duels and for sure the silver fang has a lot of it...)

The silver fang has 5 pure breed (Max!) with social merits to back it up.
