Re: OOC

Great I hope you picked up the most powerful first level gift Call of the wild...
You will give us a lot of extra dice in combat with that many extra dice from pure breed...
(that gift is almost cheating with a specialized galiard... Like supporter merit and so on...)

Re: OOC

Hate to tell you, but Call of the Wild is a Galliard thing. The other Silver Fang was the Galliard.

This one is Ahroun. (Ya know, born to be king someday...)

Alpha and Totem

O.k. Seems Like the Silver fang Ryan Fox is the only one putting his hand up for the Alpha job. If there are no further objections the job is his. We can figure out pecking order in game play.

Now regarding the totem, so far 2 members of the pack have donated 6 points for a pack totem.

3 suggestions have been put forward..

Bear

Background Cost: 5

Bear is wise in peace and fierce in war. He is a master
of healing and mysticism, but the Garou mistrust him, for
Bear’s true children are the Gurahl — werebears with no
fondness for the Garou.

Individual Traits: Bear’s children gain a dot of
Strength, can use the Gift: Mother’s Touch once per
day, and can hibernate for up to three months at a time
without need for food or water. Garou lose five points of
temporary Honor renown (if they have it to lose), and
reduce all Honor Renown awards by one point.

Pack Traits: Bear’s packs can use three dots of Medicine,
and are well-regarded by werebears.

Ban: Bear asks no specific behavior of his Garou.
Petitioning for his favor has already cost them a great
deal of standing among their own people.

Owl

Background Cost: 5

Owl watches silently in the darkness, learning all that
he can. Like the Silent Striders who claim him as their
totem, Owl holds hidden wisdom, especially about death
and the mysteries of the Dark Umbra.

Individual Traits: Owl’s children gain wings when
in the Umbra, allowing them to fly from place to place.
They also subtract two from difficulties involving stealth
or silence, and gain two points of Wisdom Renown.

Pack Traits: Owl’s packs often receive premonitions
and prophetic dreams that draw them to mystic places
long forgotten. The pack gains three dice that apply to
any Gift that involves air, travel, movement, or darkness.
Silent Striders may appear to aid the pack when it is in
danger, but packs that follow Rat (and Ratkin) are not
well disposed towards Owl’s Garou.

Ban: Owl’s children must leave small rodents tied and
helpless in the woods for him and his kind.

Wolverine

I have disallowed this totem. but might I suggest the boar for it's similar traits to that of the wolverine.

Boar

Background Cost: 5

Hunters fear the boar, and for good reason: he is
too angry to pass up a challenge, to fierce to ever give
ground, and to ornery to die before doing massive damage.
Combative young packs see theses as virtues —
especially Garou among the Fianna and Get of Fenris
— and choose Boar as their totem.

Individual Traits: Boar’s children gain a dot of
Stamina.

Pack Traits: Boar’s packs can use two dots of Brawl.

Ban: Children of Boar must never hunt or eat wild boars.

If no other suggestions are forth coming please make a choice of one of these 3 totems.

Once your pack has made it's selection, please chose one of these additional powers as the cost of these totems is one less than the points the pack has currently spent in the totem background.

Power

Three points to spend on Willpower, Rage,
or Gnosis for the totem.

Totem can speak to the pack without the benefit
of the Gift: Spirit Speech.

Totem can always find the pack members.

Re: Alpha and Totem

Are there other totems available?

Ryan likes Falcon, naturally, but he's not the one contributing points :P

He wouldn't want Bear, though. Status is kind of a big deal for him.

Ryan has other things to spend his XP on. LOTS of other things to spend XP on.

Even if given 50 XP, I probably wouldn't have any to spare on it.

Re: OOC

Wow. So Ryan is going to need some targeting possibly in game with that potential arrogance. =)

EDIT: Also Pure Breed doesn't make a good leader. But it can help one.

I'd echo the negative on Bear, and negative on Falcon also. Silver Fangs kind of rule out Grandfather Thunder too lol.

Boar is a solid choice.
Fenris is good, but the group has to be ready to fight more.
Rat's actually pretty good, especially in an urban game.
Nothing wrong with Owl either.

In reply to Ryan Fox (msg # 36):

+5-6 dice to all soak and action dice pools for the whole party for 5 xp and 1 action of each combat, what can be just close this good at rank 1?

Sadly I can not do this this time as GW can not get pure breed at all.

I would vote for the Owl, a sniper shooter will be fun.

Re: OOC

Oh, I thought you meant the totem.

5 XP for a rank 1 gift isn't too bad, though.

I already have supporter by the way...and most other merits like it ;)

In reply to Laughing Fury (msg # 40):

OK Bear is out. Fenris is fantastic but just not my style. Boar would be very awesomely cool and suit my beefy character so well.. but I have one issue..

I LOVE BACCON!!!

I would like Boar.

But the final decision I will leave up to our glorious leader to decide, because if the whole group decides on Owl I am happy with that too...

In reply to Lock Jaw (msg # 41):

Ok We have 2 votes for Owl and one for Boar, Ryan it is your choice now as the pack Alpha you will have the final say even though it was Laughing fury(1) and Lock Jaw(5) who put up the points, a totem is a packs ally not an individuals choice.

In my view it has been narrowed to a choice between 2 totems Boar or Owl.

Have you guys looked at the 3 different extra powers you can contribute to the totem you need to choose one.

Also fantastic to see people posting in the main story thread.

Re: OOC

Hmmm. Being Ahroun, I think I'll go ahead and go with Boar. It's less inconvenient to not eat bacon then it is to tie up mice for Owl. Also, Ahroun, combat.

Your right that is un-original.... By the way we might have a theurge joining us, I think this will be a good addition to the pack.

Re: OOC

Hey all, good to be gaming with you all. :)

I'll be playing Marcus "Gaia's Fire Fighter", a Metis Blackfury Theurge.

I'm hoping he can bring a good dynamic to the group, being a medic and spiritual adviser. Also, feel free to bring the anti-Metis heat, I've played Metis before and know the score (looking at the Silverfang Alpha).

OOC

And With him Marcus brings 2 more points to increase the power of your Totem. I suggest You look at the three points with a holistic approach. The following are now available to your totem:

Cost Power
1 Per three points to spend on Willpower, Rage,
or Gnosis
1 Totem can speak to the pack without the benefit
of the Gift: Spirit Speech.
1 Totem can always find the pack members.
2 Totem is nearly always with the pack members.
2 Totem is respected by other spirits.
2 Per charm possessed
3 Per extra pack member who can use the totem’s
powers in the same turn

Re: OOC

If the pack purpose is 'Kick all the Wyrm ass you can find', the "3 Per extra pack member who can use the totem’s powers in the same turn" is a good choice.

My character has Spirit Speech, and besides, what meaningful conversation is Boar really expected to have?

In reply to Ryan Fox (msg # 52):

I am happy with that also seems I miss counted there are 4 extra points to put into your totem.

might I suggest as your Theurge can speak to your totem for you:

1 Per three points to spend on Willpower, Rage,
or Gnosis
1 Totem can always find the pack members.
2 Totem is respected by other spirits.

Or

1 Totem can always find the pack members.
3 Per extra pack member who can use the totem’s power.
