The leech tenses ready to flee if necessary. As you begin to surround him.

[Private to Marcus (Gaia's Fire Fighter): You detect no wyrm in this one. He doesn't even register on the wyrm-a-scale for you. This defies everything you have ever been heard or read about leeches. If not a minion of the wyrm what is this leech?]

Re: The War Begins

The glory they gained from the won game of Garou sticks, aswell as their good position in this war brought a lot of happiness to him, but alas, that was spoiled with the appearance of a vampire. You are an abomination, a twisted mockery of everything we are. Why should we even tolerate your existence? he growls at he vampire, before changing into the crinos form, be he doesn't attack, he merely waits patiently for their Alpha to give the order. He is  sure it will come soon enough.

Re: The War Begins

Seeing the Gangrel leech asking for an audience was certainly an interesting event. Changing into his Homid form to greet him as the leeches say, properly, Shadowclaw wasn't really surprised by the disdain others showed the vampire, though he was a bit surprised when they mostly wanted to kill him right here and now and their Alpha was looking like he was seriously considering the idea. They weren't Shadow Lords and as such maybe didn't have such a tolerance for working with beings they hated, even if it could be very profitable. That's wht Bringers of Light did, as he heard. They dealt with the leeches and others diplomatically and attempted to bring them down from within.

It was Ragabash's duty to act as the Devil's Advocate or being contrary to the packs plans when it was needed. And this certainly seemed like a moment where it was needed. Killing one vampire wasn't that significant, but if what he had was worth listening to, all of them could benefit tredemnously from it. Wait, wait, wait. Let's not be hasty. He says to his pack, before any of them can attack the vampire, then steps before one of his crinos brethren to give the vampire atleast some feeling of safety. This situation needed to be defused. Tell us what you want to discuss with them and we will let them know about that. They will then decide if it's worth it. You know we can't just let any non-garou in, but if you really want something with us, we can deliver a message. Who knows, maybe you will even get an answer, if you stick around long enough?

Re: The War Begins

Again, Marcus felt a twinge of shock. Clearly this creature was of the Wyrm's brood, and yet there was no stench of it anywhere around him.

Marcus stepped in front of Lockjaw and put a steadying paw on his huge brother's shoulder.

"I don't understand. Either this creature has somehow cleansed itself of the Wyrm's taint...or it is using a dark power to hide it's true malice. If it's the latter, then this creature may be far more dangerous then it seems. It did seemingly come alone to greet us. Be careful everyone. "

"We of clan Gangrel have held a truce with the Uktena and the wolves of Chicargo for many years. Though the truce has been an uneasy one at times, it has endured. I have come to affirm our neutrality and the continuation of this truce during the coming war with your elders."

Says the cadaver holding his ground but ready to move should your pack attack.

Re: The War Begins

Ryan thought...

"Wait a minute, I want to hear about this supposed alliance with the Uktena he says he has. If such a thing is true, that does not bode well for the security of the Sept, and the elders of the other tribes will NOT appreciate it at all. They need to know about it so they can take appropriate measures. Such an alliance would bring the Uktena no honor, if the other tribes learned of it. We owe it to the rest of the tribes to find out exactly what sort of truce this leech thinks he has. Leafstorm! Have you heard of any such alliance? It wouldn't surprise me if you hadn't, they might not tell something like that to a Cliath."

Glaring at the leech.

"Just what are the terms and conditions of this 'alliance' of yours?"

Re: The War Begins

Marcus could taste the Rage brimming in his pack, as well as the blood still on his jaws. This creature was bold, an affront to the holy ceremony it had disrupted. Still he had heard rumors that the Glasswalkers made back door treaties with these creatures, and now seemingly the Uktena did as well.

"Leaf Storm. Please go find a suitable elder of your people, preferably one that would be familiar with the leeches of Chicago. If this creatures is expected, one of them should know. You may want to hurry though, Lockjaw won't held back for long." Marcus asked over the mental link.

Marcus crossed his arms, though there was clear tension in his stance.

The cadaver looks at you Ryan.

"It is not an alliance. It is a truce.  We don't hunt your territories or your kin and you don't hunt ours."

Says the leech.

[Private to Leaf Storm: you don't know the details but you have definately heard of the truce. There areas that you have been told not to hunt or go into because of vampires. The vampires in those areas are not to be interfered with and they won't interfere with you because of the old agreement.  ]

Re: The War Begins

He speaks the truth. Our tribe does have an agreement like that. Leaf Storm says out loud, so that the leech is reassured, his voice sounds a bit disappointed though.

Now, I dont know the details, but there are areas we were forbidden to hunt in because of the vampires. It was agreed that if we leave them alone, they will do so too. I wasnt aware he was one of them.

I don't like it much, but it's true. Besides, this is a matter for the elders to take care of. We shouldn't spark another war when we are already fighting one.

I will bring the news to an elder of our tribe. Wait here. Leaf Storm does as Marcus suggested, unless there are objections. He wants this situation resolved and over with soon.

Ryan frowned....but...

"I need to make a phone call..."

And he does, calling up the elder of his tribe. They REALLY REALLY need to know about this. He even used the 'emergency line.' They always had such a line for when the situation is beyond all reasonable expectations of cliaths to handle.

"I need to call the elders. This...I'm not quite sure what to do with it. Greater wisdom then mine needs to be called in."

Re: The War Begins

Leaf storm Moves off into the night back toward the clearing of the raccoon ring sept where the elders would most likely be.

[Private to Ryan Fox: You bought a telephone on the revel? A time when you let the wolf take control and run around in lupus or hispo hunting.. I did say you all packed up your "human" things for the moot, and I doubt you would have a dedicated phone. Your not a glass walker, you could ask Nancy for hers I guess.]

Ryan: You tap the pockets of the dedicated cloths, to find you have left your phone with your human equipment back at the Racoon ring. Now ain't this a pickle..

Anthius smiles a sly smile. Knowing full well the inconveniences of shape changing. He waits patiently, relaxing a little now that things seem to be happening in a "civilised" manner.

A few minutes pass when you all hear the howls of more wolves and they seem to be heading in your direction. Closer, and closer with each successive howl of rapturous blood lust the hunting pack gets closer.

[Private to Lock Jaw: You know the howls they are of your tribesmen a pack of Get are fast aproaching.]

LJ tilts his head listening to the howls, his eyes narrow.

"Alpha my brethren come. They are insane with the revel and the blood. This could turn nasty if they find us here with a cadaver." Says LJ in mental wolfen (which still has a Russian accent but isn't broken like his monkey bable).

OOC: Not that the "GET" need a reason to be insane.

Re: The War Begins

Marcus glanced over in the direction of the hunting wolves, then back at the seemingly very well infromed Leech in front of him.

"You say you have come to affirm your Tribe's pact of neutrality with one of our Tribes? Very well then. The Uktena are a proud noble people, and I am certain every one of them will honor that pact. The other Tribes however have made no such agreement. If you have any other business here, I would invite you to get to it...quickly."

As far as he knew, the battle plan was for them to eliminate all the Leeches in the area, and with the exception of Leaf Storm, none of them had any reason not to tear this smug parasite apart right now.

Anthius responds to Marcus,

"I am an emissary of peace seeking to speak to your elders and leaders are you so honor-less that you would attack or allow others to attack a messenger. If this is the case you have much to learn about the world, to act in such a childish manner. I am glad your Alpha has more sense."

The Leech stands ready to act but still doesn't leave, he stands steadfast in his mission. You would figure only someone with a few tricks up his sleeves would stand so calmly and resolute in the face of wolves.

Re: The War Begins

Marcus smiled, showing his teeth. He knew the game the leech was playing, it was much the same as any Shadowlord, but he wouldn't let the creature goad him.

"If you are as knowledgeable as you claim to be, then you would know that I and my pack are bound by no honor to spare your life unless you surrender to us. We are under no compulsion to shield you from the wrath of our cousins unless you give us a reason to. It would foolish of us to show you to our leaders without you giving us some true reason why you are here. We have given you warrior's courtesy by allowing you to speak. Use that time well."

Marcus's voice was calm and factual, not threatening at all. So far the leech hadn't given him any reason to not attack. He was certain that Lockjaw would love to join his brothers in ripping this creature apart. And from the mood he was still in, he would love to watch.

He holds his hands out wrists together.

"Now will you take me as your "prisoner" to your leaders? Or am I wasting my time?"

He says sarcastically with eyes widened slightly and his head tilted to one side.

Assuming Ryan didn't have any objections, Marcus took a few steps back from the creature and turned towards the Caern. He drew in an audibly deep breath, then unleashed a series of quick howls.

Re: The War Begins

At your howls Marcus the barks and howls of the near by wolves become fevered. Coming toward your pack at a furious rate. The oncoming  pack identifies it's self and it's intentions.

"Fear not Silver tusks. "Thor's hammers" come. We will rain down destruction with you on the cadaver. We come.. We destroy.."

Anthius shakes his head.

*sigh*

"You know after dealing with you wolves for the past 150 years one would think I'd have learnt something.. You never change it is always kill first think later. It's your short life spans I think. Like humans in that way. I would just like to point out you had already sent the big Indian to get the warder and elders. We could of sat and talked calmly even shared some knowledge of our different kinds until they arrived. Yet you feel compelled to shout out to everyone else that we are here, and by the sound of those coming I don't think they want to take prisoners. I thought I was selecting the most level headed of the packs I saw out reveling tonight. Well if you didn't want a altercation, it sounds like you're going to get one now. The question you have to ask your selves is, are you going to let some other pack just slaughter your prisoner who surrendered to you peacefully? Maybe you could just try to kill me with them now, and say I tried to escape? I warn you though one doesn't live to be 187 without learning some tricks, and it wouldn't look good for you if you didn't kill me, and I managed to speak to the elders anyway. Even worse if they actually wanted to speak to me too. What are you going to do by the sounds of it, "Thor's Hammers" will be here any moment."

Says Anthius, shrugging his shoulders.
