Leaf Storm settles down as the leeches rode off. The fur on his back sat down and he moved back to the perimeter watch.

He found a spot under Nancy on the bench and slept easily. Out under the stars gave him the best sleep anyway.

The next morning he had awoken and went for a hunt before the others. He was always up early and while there wasn't much to hunt - some small game found their way unluckily into his jaws. He said a quick thanks to them for their sacrifice and watched as the woman approached.

If at all possible, an enclosed vehicle would suit me best.

As they were preparing to drive out, Nancy rewound the recorders tape 5 minutes and then hit play so anyone giving the monitor a quick glance wouldn't know anything was up until they were gone.  She also quickly mapped a place to get breakfast near the car rental place and using a satellite view, found a place near that to stash the van.

She directed Marcus to the location where they would leave the van and made sure to leave the doors unlocked, the windows down, and the keys in the ignition.  She then led the way to the diner where the pack could grab a quick breakfast while Ryan and Nancy walked over to pick up the rental.

Awoken by everyone piling into the van once again, and a bit grumpy at having his nice dream about chasing bunnies interrupted LJ scowls at his packmates..

"When we hunt and eat? Me Hangry..."

He looks at each of you for an answer. The impressive hulk of his wolf form doesn't make him very inconspicuous amongst the ape world. He wouldn't even pass as a dog.

Leaf Storm would have been smiling if he were in his human form. Instead he walks off for a moment and comes back with a rabbit and drops it at Lock Jaw's paws.

The best I could do under the circumstances, my friend.

"Hawhahaw you don't need to ask me twice a snack is better than nothing..."
Without further invitation LJ rips apart the rabbit on the backseat of the van.

Sean finishes up and heads back over to the others.

"What did I miss have we found out anything new yet?"

Nancy, I need you to encrypt the transaction before I make it. Leeches are terribly good at tracing money, and I'd really rather they didn't

While she did that, Ryan looked over the various vehicles. He got the feeling the Range Rover would suit most of his pack the best, though the Luxury Motorhome was nice too.

"We need another vehicle.  The police are looking for this van because of the trouble with the flat tire.  There's a car rental not far from here, and I've found a diner near there where we can get breakfast.  I've also found a good spot to abandon the van near the diner.  So we'll drive there, leave the van, walk to the diner, and then Ryan and I will walk over to the car rental to pick up the new vehicle while you all eat."  Nancy supplied, covering all the bases.

"We'll head to the address Susan gave us after that."

"Sounds good I could go for some food"

Temporal Adjustment:

Once Ryan finishes speaking with susan you all once again get back into the hippie van and with a bit of smart tech work from Nancy are soon on your way again.

Nancy directs you to an ally with a vaccant block to one side and a grafiti covered fence on the other where you dump the van leaving the windows down and keys in it.

Walking a block Nancy brings you to a cafe(I assume everyone is walking as a human). Where Sean, Marcus, Lockjaw, shadowclaw and Leafstorm sit and order some breakfast which shadowclaw in the end has to pay for as he is the only one with some cash out of those you left at the cafe.

Ryan and Nancy go across the road and down past 2 shopfronts to the rental car yard. Those at the cafe can see the cars in the yard (as listed) and can have their say telepathically.

I hope this clears up where we are at.

Rayn and Nancy enter the rentals office behind the counter is a 46 year old man half bald and the rest of his hair going grey fromthe cchestnut brown it once was. His nose is too bog for his face and the discoloration around his eyes sugests something other than a drinking habit. But when he smiles at your entrance it is like a million bucks.  He has a fantastic smile that is trusting careing and welcoming, all at the same time. And then he ruins it by speaking in a gravely I've smoked too much voice.

"What can I do fer you?" *cough,  cough*

"So, I'd like to look into that Range Rover you've got there."

Of course, he'd get all the perks, like insurance, unlimited mileage, etc.

Leaf Storm walks around the car, staring at it as though he was mentally inspecting its structural integrity and making sure it was in working order as he had seen other humans do. Truth be told, he had no idea what made the thing tick and just a basic understanding of how it worked, but he knew he had to look the part.

His hair was pulled back into a pony tail and to an onlooker, his face looked as proud and true to his heritage as any native warrior of any legend ever told. Of course, this was just a side effect of the purity of his breed, but it was also ingrained in his genes so that no matter how he carried himself, he always seemed sure of himself and proud.

"Yes, this vehicle will do just fine."

He looks over to Lockjaw. "Still hungry?"

With his russian accent LJ nod his head vigorously saying;

"Da, I is always hungry.  You think me get this big by no eating? "

In his gravely voice he replies;

"That one is $98 a day. Are you over 25?"

In the café Sean had placed his order of stake (rare), eggs over easy, fresh fruit, sliced tomatoes, multi grain bread, and if they have it hot tea.

He sits back eating his food and looking out at the car lot that Ryan and Nancy had went to.

Since shadowclaw had to pick up the bill Sean tells him.

"Since you had to pick up the bill If there comes a time you need something dedicated just let me know."

In reply to Storyteller (msg # 173):

"Certainly. What extra insurance do you offer?"

He wouldn't put it past leeches to blow the rented vehicle up. Out of spite.

Hears that Sean is ordering and is quick to get on that band wagon.

Can I have 3 steaks rare, 5 eggs, and hashbrowns.. Me hear hashbrowns da bomb.. no pig in hashbrowns is there? Me no eatum da Pig.

All this is said in his thick Russian accent.

The man behind the counter smiles again drawing in a breath that causes his pudgy stomach to rise above the counter and his slightly small shirt to bulge at the buttons revieling his hairy gut.

"For full comprehensive insurance with no excess fee is $380. Though we can work that down of course if you're happy to pay an excess if the vehicle gets damaged."

While Ryan talked, Nancy took a seat and looked more interested in whatever she was doing on her tablet than the boring process of renting a car.

"Go ahead and let him process the rental once you've finished deciding.  Remember we do need to be able to drive and park our choice in the city.  I'll clean things up after the transaction is complete."

With the salesman distracted Nancy either on tapping into the rental companies' system.

"Full coverage is fine. Do you offer any other services?"

Ryan could afford damn near everything after all, might as well get the most out of it.

In reply to Ryan Fox (msg # 179):

Ryans, non phased reaction to the price causes the clerk to flash his brilliant smile again.

"All our vehicle come with an emergency call out service while your within the Chicago city limits but please be assured your vehicle has been carefully checked before you rent it and if you are going outside Chicago for an extra $200 we will cover any call out fees. We can also provide a car wash and detail card with that sir it is $100 per week. This card will get you as many automatic washes as you like per week at any of the listed outlets and one complete detail of the vehicle. The only service we can provide beyond this sir is a friendly smile and a trouble free experience with any of our vehicles."

He says this with a smile then in a conspiritual tone under his breath he says;

"Unless of course you want the Gangster service. Your not a cop are you?"

He quickly smiles again saying a bit louder than normal as though talking to a bug;

"Will the rental of the Rangerover be all today Sir?"

He smiles again.

Ryan nods.

"Sounds good. I'll take it all. And no, I'm not a cop, or otherwise associated with law enforcement. Definitely want that too though."

Of course, it'd take time to fill out ALL that paperwork, by which time Nancy should be done.

"Steak, bloody and a cup of coffee. Black no sugar."

Marcus was still a little drowsy and the daylight was hurting his eyes despite the sunglasses that he constantly wore and his voice was sharp and snappy.
