"Tattoos?" Jo asked, raising an eyebrow with a small smile,

"I'm not sure. Haven't given 'em much thought I guess, till now. You?" she asked Lily in return.

Re: Friends, Enemies, and Mrs. Bently...

She grins and in answer pulls up part of her blouse, revealing an intricate circular design on her firm abdomen. Possession free! she exclaims happily. I highly suggest you get one. Marcus can whip one out quite fast. The question is where should you put it...? she gives you a devilish twinkle. If you put it where no one can see then it has its charms, of course half the fun is letting someone see it. Hm...

Should you agree to the tattoo she will lead you deeper into the marvelous place until you find a small room with a few people sitting and waiting patiently while a good looking fellow painstakingly tattoos them with a look of concentration. He is apparently half Asian, quite a surprise in this time period, and his rolled up sleeves reveal plenty of his own tattoos, many of which are even more intricate than Lily's. Marcus has been pretty busy ever since we discovered the sigil. But I'm going to have to insist we take cuts, she adds loudly much to the irritation o the others. Oh get over yourselves! We have to save the world in an hour or so, what are you lot doing? Research? she rolls her eyes. Marcus looks up at her with a smirk of amusement and then looks at you curiously. Now who is this? I assume she is my next victim? Where do you want it sweetheart? he gives a half grin.

ooc: Here's the info on the tattoo: http://www.supernaturalwiki.co...ti-possession_tattoo

Re: Friends, Enemies, and Mrs. Bently...

Raising her eyebrow and laughing, Josephine's dangerous rebellious side was starting to sneak out, and she nodded,

"Screw it, right? Let's have a little fun." and as Marcus turned towards her, she grinned, and nodded,

"How about my inner thigh? How close can you get it? Or would you recommend something more vanilla, like the lower back?" she asked him, crossing her arms clearly to teasingly challenge him. In reality, she just trusted his own expertise over her own, and she was willing to go along with his choice instead. Still, having a little fun with him was her idea, and probably part of the reason she was such a people person.

Re: Friends, Enemies, and Mrs. Bently...

Lily gasps and then gives a hoot of laughter, looking a bit shocked at your brazen words. Marcus is a bit taken aback too though he breaks into a wide grin, albeit blushing as he does. He really is good looking. Well I guess I asked for that he shakes his head, still smiling. Um...how about the lower back then? Sometimes my hand slips and I don't want Lily taking my head off he turns and shoots her an accusing look. You're right, I absolutely would she nods with a smirk. Soon the room is cleared and you find yourself lying face down on the bench, your blouse pulled up as you wait to endure the pain. Marcus makes small talk with you as he works, explaining that his father came to work on the railroads from China and fell in love with an American woman. This did not go over well with society of course and so he found himself in a great deal of trouble throughout his youth, rebelling against the world that had rejected his family. Eventually he fell into hunting when a friend was killed by werewolves and he informs you he has felt at home here ever since. Lily watches him like a hawk in spite of her scandalous sense of humor. It is touching how protective she is of you, not that you think Marcus would ever actually try anything. But enough about me, what about you? I'm told your mother owns that hunter's bar on the west side? You don't know if she gives a discount for hunters do you? he laughs.

Re: Friends, Enemies, and Mrs. Bently...

ooc: I'm going to incorporate what you mentioned in the ooc.

Marcus is a bit shocked that you insist upon the inner thigh but he will agree with a look of nervous amusement. Lily arches a scandalized eyebrow but laughs and watches him closely. You lay back, ready to accept the needle and the consequences of your placement. He puts a hand on your leg, looking somewhat embarrassed but steady. The instant the needle hits your flesh though you give out a high pitched screech and grip the sides of the bench with white knuckles. Marcus is disturbed but tries to press on, making it about thirty more seconds worth of work before you leap off the bench, the pain is immense! Lily and Marcus look at you in surprise but you are hard pressed to finish the job. Are you alright?! Lily demands though you can see she is trying hard not to laugh and failing miserably at it. Marcus just looks apologetic but the Indian woman is clearly amused. Uh...maybe if we tried a different placement? It could be less painful. Or we can push on through? he offers uncertainly. Or I could get you an amulet if you like. It's not as effective as a tattoo because it can be taken away or lost but it could do for now if you like. Lily shrugs. Keep in mind you have a random line tattooed on your thigh for all of time now though. You could have fun explaining that to your future husband. Hm...would a drink help? she adds with enthusiasm.

ooc: You can either go for your back or another place on your body and roll again, see if you do better, take a 20 on it but freak out the whole time or you can do slightly better with a few shots in you but still have some issues, lol. I may have to draw this scene someday, I think it is by far one of my favorites!

"No way!" Jo said, her face stone, "If you let me jump off that bench one more time, I'll be disappointed in you, Marcus!" she teased, realizing it was her own sissy move hopping off.

Walking away for a moment, she grabbed a glass of hard liquor (She'll go all the way to the bar if she has to), slams it down in one go, and shook her head, shivering aloud, before sitting back down.

"Alright, screw it. Just pain, right?" she grit her teeth, "Let's do it." she said, fully ready for the pain.

Nuh uh! She ain't backing out now! Take 20 it is, with booze to help!

Re: Friends, Enemies, and Mrs. Bently...

You may be very drunk by the end of this if you're not careful! Lily warns with a laugh. Marcus hesitates but decides to take you at your word, trying to go as fast as possible. Unfortunately it must be perfect so even working fast it is not nearly fast enough. You manage to stay on the bench but only just barely and you do a lot of swearing, screeching and drinking throughout the whole mess. Lily offers to hold your hand to offer you something to squeeze if you like and though she's amused she's also properly sympathetic. At last Marcus is finished and it's hard to tell who is more relieved, you or him.

Well that was an ordeal the tattooed man shakes his head. I could use a drink of that myself he takes a swig from the bottle though Lily snatches it away from him. You have two more people to work on. I won't have you drunk through it! she sniffs. She then turns to you. Now, would you like some ice perhaps? Also, before we go I think we should visit the armory. We don't want to pack too light after all. When you follow her out she gives you a wicked smile. Well wasn't that saucy of you? Tell me, if the tattooer wasn't as good looking as Marcus would you have selected a different location? I think he likes you she teases.

Laughing, she responded loud enough so that he could hear,

"I was just worried the big sissy was going to chicken out. Psh, I just put on a show to make him feel better!" she said, sticking her tongue out at him.

Then, in a quieter voice, she whispered,

"If he wasn't that good looking, the thought wouldn't have even crossed my mind..." she confided in Lily, laughing, "I wouldn't mind a little fun in the sun, so to speak." she said, grinning mischievously.

Lily laughs in a slightly scandalized way though she seems amused by it. Well don't let him hear you say that, he's well aware of his way with women. Though I think you may be the first to return his flirtations so skillfully. I don't think he knew what to make of it! she grins. He's a good man though, and I'm picky about who I like so that says something. Now, what weapons do you want to bring to the past with us? Goodness that sounds odd. You know what? I wonder if we're allowed to kill anyone actually. What if we kill someone in the past and then someone important ends up not being born? Fiddle this is ridiculous! she growls.

Shrugging, Jo grinned back,

"I dunno, I might just throw him into my pocket, bring him with us back to the past!" she teased, laughing, "As for weapons... I can give it my best, but I'm much more for talking our way through things. Most folks are good people, if you give em a shot. I'd rather not have to worry about killin' anyone if I don't have to." she admitted, shrugging.

Well you are good at it so you may just make it that way she nods with a grin. Although demons are a bit harder to deal with in which case I suggest a good blessed shotgun round to the face. It works remarkably well. I'm thinking we should get you at least a rifle and a revolver, a dagger and perhaps a bit of dynamite, just in case we have need of it. You would be surprised how many problems a stick of dynamite solves.

Re: Friends, Enemies, and Mrs. Bently...

Hearing from Lily about a sigil that would prevent demonic possession, Penny was intrigued and came to receive hers. She could of course wear a silver amulet bearing the design, but she found such things annoying, especially to wear every day, and they could always be stolen away. So, ever practical-minded, Penny chose to take the offered tattoo, with a thrill of daring and scandal. Of course, she then had to fret and fuss over the perfect design – after all, she would wear it on her skin for all time; she'd taken one look at the sunburst pentacle on offer and been distinctly unimpressed. It had to be hers. With compass, pencil, and ruler, she modified the design, removing the flames and incorporating a more feminine crescent moon and a Celtic triple spiral of some personal significance she didn't explain, all in a complex Celtic knotwork style, to suit her ancient Briton heritage. It was the same magic, and perhaps a little bit more.

Then there was the matter of placement, somewhere quite concealable, somewhere a gentlewoman like her could get away with it in polite society. Given modest fashions, that was almost anywhere. Placing it on her posterior would mean the embarrassing thing might never be seen, but Penny had grown increasingly proud of her design. Besides, she wouldn't be able to sit for ages. Eventually, she settled on her left shoulder blade, concealed by all current dresses, but still viewable in a mirror. On her back, over her heart.

All ready, Penny laid face-down on the bed in the tattoo-artist's parlour, giddy with anticipation and trepidation. She suffered the needle with a stiff-upper-lip resilience, barely showing pain and little discomfort. Of course, it helped that she had access to a good supply of medicinal laudanum.

Lying face-down under the tattoo needle, for the hours it would take to inscribe her chosen design, Penny had apparently nodded off, or else blacked out. 'No! I don't want to go back into the Interior! The dark continent...' she moaned, apparently dreaming.

Re: Friends, Enemies, and Mrs. Bently...

Lily laughs at Jo's antics and the pair of you joke and chat pleasantly while Marcus works on Penny and Father Simon. Penny takes the needle with ease, Simon winces a bit but pushes through(having a cross built into the design on his right inner forearm), and by the end you are all fully equipped to avoid demonic possession. Marcus, the half Chinese tattoo artist with a handsome grin and plenty of tattoos of his own, wakes Penny when she's done, noting she seemed to be having a vivid dream...

Once everyone is finished Ian and Lily have equipped you with all the gear they think would be necessary, including currency of the time and the proper attire which is really only strikingly different for the women. Simon is quite alright to dress as he has been. You meet at the brownstone, not wanting to take any chances with headquarters having any more spies about and soon Victoria has drawn quite a complex sigil, along with Emma Bentley's scrutiny. She looks impressed by the black woman's skills though she says little.

Soon the portal is drawn along with last minute instructions to try to avoid contact with other people as much as possible in order to preserve the timestream though minor interactions will likely be unavoidable. She then activates the portal, giving Ian a detailed diagram of how to draw his own in order to return when you are ready. She will stay behind and guard your way back for it will be through the brownstone you will end up returning. The wall starts to glow and you step through...

ooc: I'm going to make a new chapter so feel free to finish any thoughts on here if you like and then post there. Are you guys taking Emma with you? I forget! :D

Re: Friends, Enemies, and Mrs. Bently...

Penny brushed off concerns about her dream, muttering she must have been dreaming about going on safari to Africa. Rising, she eagerly inspected her new tattoo, shamelessly tugging her dress down her bare back again and examining it via the mirror. She marvelled at this permanent imprint on her skin, a very personal adornment. The Seal of Solomon pentacle would ward away demons and other possessing entities, ensuring her mind and body would always be her own. The triple spiral represented the Trinity and older forces, marking her faith. And most of all, it was quite beautiful. She did not regret this. She eagerly thanked Marcus and asked about medicinal treatments to prevent infection.

Returning to the brownstone, Penny collected her weapons and other implements, not too mention some handy luggage and the other supplies. She'd made sure to collect an amulet displaying the anti-possession symbol, so she might give it to Kate when they found her. She also brought some spare unenchanted daggers and cheap jewellery, but would not explain the significance just yet.

After her last impromptu trip through time, Penny was fully prepared for this one, though no less anxious with anticipation. This time, she was going into her own past. She dreaded what she might find. Holding onto her hat, Penny leapt into the portal—

He offered Lily a seat, politely, and sat across from her. "Lily I need to speak to the other." He watched and waited less than a moment before her eyes changed. "Well..." he paused as the reality of it sank in. "I've spoken to Castiel and Penny. I am sworn to secrecy, and I do not know that I can continue courting Lily this way. I cannot lie to someone, but especially not someone I plan to marry. Penny has implored me to reconsider."

He let her answer before continuing. "Penny's idea, blessed by Castiel, is to tell Lily a half-truth. Leaving her completely in the dark is causing her tremendous stress and might eventually lead to more crippling mental conditions such as depression. The half truth is that we theorize her to be a Wendigo Hunter. This makes sense with her blackouts and abilities she cannot remember or control. Penny thinks this will function as a way to ease her mind and keep her from depression or curiosity."

He leaned forward, closing much of the distance between them. "I am skeptical. I am uncomfortable with even a half truth, but if it will save her sanity and placate you, then I will go along with it."

He motioned, "I need to know what you are thinking."

Re: Friends, Enemies, and Mrs. Bently...

She looks confused and her eyes don't change until you start to go into details about Castiel and then immediately they flick to the smoky gray. She listens mutely until you are finished and then gives a slow nod. That is a very fitting story. I approve it. She struggles against me sometimes and it would make things easier if she were to accept it. As for Castiel and Penny...well they shouldn't have told you though I can't say I'm surprised. The more people who know of me the more put me in danger. If you care about Lily at all you will keep this to yourself. I am considered an abomination by the angels and they will try to destroy me. I have no desire to kill them in self defense but I will if it comes to it. So you see, silence is key. The reason I am shut off the way I am is because of my father. He has blocked me in order to keep Lily safe, let her lead a normal life or as normal as she could expect. I don't think he intended her to become a hunter. At any rate, I do not enjoy the way things are, it is not as though I would choose them this way but they are as they must be and that is that. You may find that there is a coldness to me that is lacking in my counterpart. Do not take it to mean that she does not care for you. If you are not comfortable marrying her that is your right but don't be cruel if you drop her. She's suffered enough at the hands of men.

Simon was very thoughtful. "I think, at this point to avoid lying to her, I will simply say things are sealed by confession. Penny can give her the lye and let her deal with it as best she can and I can keep from actually lying to her."

Simon Reached for her hand, "If this is still acceptable."

Hopefully not for if you see me then Lily is in danger. Or she's so furious she loses control of herself and I usually take vengeance for her she gives a half smile. Either way it wouldn't be ideal circumstances. Now that I've decided you're not a threat for the moment she will reassert herself shortly. I can't take control anytime I want unfortunately.
