Re: Ooc: Volume 3

No worries. House stuff has been sucking my very soul anyway. I will try to do a bit next week but I don't want to move too far ahead without Alice anyway. We can wait, we've been at it this long, after all!

No worries!

Ok, so hopefully my house situation will be ever so slightly less horrible so next week I'm back to normal-universe willing!

I'm going to move you on to the final fight, probably have a new thread for it too. So you should be seeing something early next week if not Monday itself.

Working on a new thread so don't feel like you have to respond to the old one.

Re: Ooc: Volume 3

Thanks for the spells and info Simon! I'll transfer it to the new thread and utilize it very soon because you're about to begin fighting.

On another note, since people's schedules have gotten busier lately and posting rates are less than they previously were (myself included) I don't want this final battle to take a million years but I also don't want to feel like it's been rushed and short change the finale either.

Since you still have to actually fight your way to the castle, and you still have to wait it out til it's safer to do so, what do you think of doing an average of rolls to see how well your character does and I can utilize it to write out a generalization of what happens until we get to the epic stuff? Basically you'd roll a d20 three times, adding either your dex, strength or spell casting modifier to each roll. Not the whole score, but the smaller one. Then, I'd average out the 3 rolls to see if you have an easy time or take a lot of damage, etc. You could tell me how your characters would interact, let me know any spells they favor or tactics etc, and I'd do a big write out. Then, we could move on to the siege on the castle and we could maybe roll 3 rounds at a time from there or something? That way the important, epic stuff will be prioritized and it won't take another million years to get through the rest.

Thoughts?

If you're amenable to this, don't bother posting on the new thread yet til we know which route we're going to go.

Woah, sorry, I've been swamped with work and haven't had time to process everything. I didn't realise so long had passed. I'll try to catch up when I get a chance.

Re: Ooc: Volume 3

Oh that's really sad, Alice! Waaaaaaah! I totally am right there with ya. At least it will still take us a while before things officially end. You know how fights can drag on! Besides, in a year or two after we have a long break, I'm sure I'll be ready to do another game and I can give people a heads up then for interested folks.

I say we do the 3 rolls average stuff I mentioned for the first part and then get more detailed after that. It will still take us a while to get through, at the rate of everyone's schedules. And no worries, Penny! No rush at all!

Stellar writing! I love the mental image of her riding into battle like that! This is going to be one epic end!

Just waiting on a post or two, and then we'll move on. I know Kate has some real life stress she's dealing with at the moment, and I'm on vacation all next week. Hopefully after that, things can get back to a more normal schedule. Luckily it's not like we're in a hurry. We have time, so no rush!

Re: Ooc: Volume 3

So here's the dealio:

We've been working on selling our house and buying a new one for months now. It's been a nightmare. We finally closed on selling our house last week and we had our dream home lined up to close on the 25th of this month. It was a gorgeous cabin in the woods with 2 acres, a creek, trees trees and more trees, everything we've been dreaming of and it was HARD to find it. It took so much bartering and haggling and work but we had a deal and we were set to have it finalized and be our forever home.

Cue last week. On my birthday, actually. Yay.

We found out there is a boundary dispute that they didn't tell us about. They played it off as nothing at first and we warily asked for more information. They admitted that they're actually being sued by their neighbor because she wants the boundaries redrawn and thinks she's owed more land even though there is no earthly justification for this. She refuses to even pay for the land she wants. She just expects it for free. So needless to say, it's a giant mess. We met with the sellers and the neighbor to try to work things out but the neighbor is stubborn and there's something majorly off about her. So we are withdrawing and now don't have anywhere to live. We have to be out of our current house in 2 weeks so we're scrambling to find a rental and everything is a giant mess. I've honestly never been more stressed in my entire life.

So, needless to say, my posting shall be sporadic. I'm sure by mid August things will settle down. They kind of have to! And I'll still try to post here as much as I can, but I'm giving you a heads up on my flakiness now so you don't think I've forgotten you guys!

Oh, and I'm also waiting for Kate to post still, lol! ;P

Yikes! No worries! I'll post this week just so that it's done and people can take their time responding. Luckily there's no rush at all. Heaven knows I've been the cause for delays too. In the meantime, I hope your surgery and recovery go well!

Hysterectomy. Tumors that could have turned cancerous if they weren't caught in time. Suppose to happen late Sept or early Oct.

Oh yikes! I'm glad they caught them! I have some complex cysts, myself, that they've been keeping an eye on for almost a year now. I go in October to see how they're doing. Getting rather sick of it.

Re: Ooc: Volume 3

Ok, so I think next week I should be good to post. Since life is getting pretty nuts for people, I will definitely be expediting the battle, unless people vehemently object. I'm thinking we'll do 3 big posts with averaged rolls to determine how well you do. I'll be providing narration on how things go so it will be something we still play out but with much less rolling.

Obviously I know Alice won't be available to post til October, but at least this way we'll have the first post in place to get the ball rolling.

Also, while we're at it, start thinking about your character's epilogue while you're at it. I will be doing a big post at the end of the game for everyone and I'd love to get your wish lists and ideas!

Great! I'm looking forward to it!

But don't hurry on my account. I've injured my arm and it's a struggle to type, making it hard to write a lot or as well as I'd like, and keep up.

Oh no! That sucks! Well, since I know both you and Alice are less than able to post properly for a bit, how about we wait til October then? It's only like, 8 days away or so. I hope your arm is ok!
