Sorry I've been so busy. I'm hoping to post thursday. I'm scheduling surgeries at an OB/GYN and everyone wants in before the end of the year for insurance reasons so I have stacks of charts on my desk all nagging me. Psssssh! Dumb. If it makes you feel better, I've been neglecting my laundry and dishes too! ;P

If I'm light on posting this week it's because my family is having something of an emergency. I don't know how bad it is yet, I'm still waiting for a call so it could be minor or it could be a death and of course waiting to find out which one is really grating on me. Sorry for my flakiness, I'll keep you posted on what to expect from me.

Thanks. I just called the hospital and they claim my aunt's probably been checked out so I'm thinking that means she's alive. I can't get a hold of my sister but I think that bodes well at least! What an epic mess. I appreciate your well wishes.

Well she's alive so that's good! It's going to be a mess to sort everything out but it's better than I feared. Phew!!

Ok, I shall post tomorrow. Man, she's starting to do better physically but mentally it's way worse than I thought. Depression is some crappy stuff! I need to realize how good I have it and stop whining. Nothing like seeing what other people have to deal with to put things in perspective.

I am sorry to here about her mental health. That is never something people should suffer from. I wish both you and her all the best.

Yeah, it's been extra tough for her lately. My uncle died last year as you may recall and there have been a lot of unpleasant reminders. In October it was what would have been their anniversary, then thanksgiving. In a week or so it would have been his birthday then 5 days before christmas will be his death anniversary, then of course there's christmas itself, and lastly at the end of december is HER birthday. So an already hard time of year made considerably harder. On top of that she has some major pain/health issues that frequently keep her house bound and she's been going a little nuts because of everything.

My advice: Take care of yourself while you're young. I try to plan ahead for my aging (mostly successfully...) since I have seen how bad it can be and as a personal trainer I know the mistakes so many people make. Her health issues make this way harder than it should be and since they were mostly preventable, it's really hard to think of how things could be different for her if she'd not taken the path she's on. It's just plain sad.

I'm sorry to hear that. Depression is a hard thing to live with, and it makes everything else worse. I hope things can improve.
