I find it hilarious here that I'm struggling to recall stuff that happened like... half a year or so ago, but for the character maybe half a week has passed so they shouldn't have trouble remembering a lot of it xD

Well I hope Phelan shows up again soon.  Because things will be getting involved again soon.

I guess it's good timing that I'm feeling somewhat more normal now that friday has passed(every friday I basically have to give a weekly report on the project, so I usually end up stressing over it when things are going wrong).

@Phelan:  Yeah that figures.  I hope you get through it all!

Sorry - I am having trouble with my internet connection since Tuesday.  I have been onto the ISP many times, but they seem to either be dragging their feet or having difficulty identify the cause.  I do hame limited connectivity at times (which is how I am posting atm), but its not great.

So while we wait for Drex - yes its rather unfortunate that we entered a section of the game where everyone needs to post but there isn't much I can do about that - lets talk a bit about something I've been looking at over the last few weeks.

D&D 5th edition.  As I have said, I don't intend to switch.  I might have been inclined to if the games were more similar but as is 5th ed is arguably what 4th ed should have been a general upgrade of 3.5e.  And while part of me might be drawn to because of nostalgic familiarity I realize that I have actually played far, far more of 4th edition then I have of any other edition of d&d.

So while everyone is seems to be lauding 5th edition for being the return of the messiah I am sitting here with a sense of disappointment rather then happiness.  Which I think stems from my time with both systems and the fundamental mechanics that make them tick.

If I frankly had more time I would have taken to rewrite some of the stuff in 4th ed that just seems like alot on unnecessary math (I am looking at you half-level bonus).  I do like 5th eds move to decreasing the magic gear dependence that is sadly far too much of a thing in both 3rd and 4th edition.  And the backgrounds solve my issue with the racial skills.  Please note that I will be taking some time to transcribe those for use in this game.  So at the end of this adventure when we have our first interlude you'll be able to adopt them.

I have only touched on the former editions of D&D in games such as Baldur's game and Neverwinter nights and whilst I loved those games, I really didn't like the D&D system.

I only started rp-ing towards the end of last year.  Bought a bunch of books and ended up choosing D&D 4E as the first to try once I have looked over a few and I have to say I am very glad I did.  It is by far one of the most enjoyable and accessible games I have played so far (which admittedly is not many).
