Re: In the Land of Zu
Danyka nodded curtly to Tealon's assessment of his wings' carrying capacity. She reached into her kit bag and drew out a grappling hook and fifty feet worth of high-quality rope. "I don't have a tent in here..." the thin Llaelese brunette stated flatly, handing the rope and hook to Tealon, "Make good use of these. And bring them back if you can." She glanced about at her fellow group of conspirators, to see if there was any more input. Then her gaze fell back onto Tealon. "It sounds like you are on your own up there. At least at the beginning." Her black shimmering hair bobbed for a moment as she contemplated, "Give us ... say, five minutes to get into position before you start your attack."
"The rest of us will start to make our way up the cliff," Dany summarized as concisely as she could, "as quickly ... and quietly ... as we can." She point to Ioelenna, Jheridan, and Nicollo as well as herself, "We are first wave." She inclined her head towards both Del and Khuno, to invite them along - but by no means presume that was the case, "You may join us or wait. If we fail, a secondary plan will be need..." Implying that whoever was left was going to have to enact that; though Danyka was also well aware that the first wave was also the most dangerous - so many unknowns.
But those variables couldn't be helped. "I can try to take out the lower guards from a distance, say forty yards ..." the raven-haired Rynnish gun mage noted, touching her pistols instinctively, "But there is not guarantee I can do that in one shot. Closer up I can bring more firepower to bear." She grimaced slightly, "No matter what, it will be rather obvious once the pain is unleashed." It was always the debate, Magic Missile, Scorching Ray, or Color Spray. The latter two required much closer targets.
"The blade would be the quietest..." she mused aloud, "but that would require being really up close and personal in range..." Dany could only assume that once the festivities started and the range closed that they would have to fall back to their glorified pigstickers as weapons.
"I can use a touch of magic to try and approximate the color of a guard's uniform." she noted softly, warming to the idea but knowing that an apprentice's Prestidigitation had severe limits, "though it will be crude and unlikely to fool anyone up close." Still, in the dark, it might get a pair (or a trio) close enough for Khuno to get her spell off. She looked to see if anyone, had clothing that in the right light might be mistaken for the guard's uniform. Or perhaps her own travelling cloak ... if of the right color.
The rest of the vanguard would have to try stealth.
