Re: Back In The Saddle Again

Rrger:
@Danyka
... We were each issued two smoke grenades when we shipped out so there should be no shortage of them at this point. ...

Oh, yeah - part of the standard issue kit.  Mea culpa.  Guess she should try and throw one herself...

As for command, I tried to give some orders, but there aren't many PCs left, it seems.  I will see what Dany can do for orders.  She's got Charisma, but I am not sure that she has the tactical sense required for command.  Damnit, she's a medic for Morrow's sake.  Not a leader...

Uh, GM, what is DR/ER?

In reply to Danyka Ydrasyl (msg # 141):

I know DR is damage reduction. ER I would assume to be elemental resistance or something. Maybe evasion?

Re: Back In The Saddle Again

Oh, a question in regards to aiming. I am assuming (possibly incorrectly) that taking a round / move action to aim will give me a bonus to hit? if not that is fine, as it makes sense to take the time for each shot, but on a whole Creswick is not a very rushed individual on taking the shots. Making them count is more important than putting volume out.

Re: Back In The Saddle Again

DR is Damage Resistance. Any physical damage, such as weapons, rocks, arrows, bullets, etc. is absorbed by the DR first. The remainder gets through.

ER is Energy Resistance. There are 5 types of energy, though I tend to include one or two others. Acid, Cold, Fire, Shock (electricity) and Sonic (sound), though I usually include Force and Shadow. Technically, Force should be opposed by DR, but doesn't work that way.

Aiming gets you a +1 bonus per round/per range increment, up to a max of +5. That is, you can aim for one round at point blank range, for two rounds at the first range increment, three rounds for the next range increment. The reason for this is that at point blank range, your target moves too much too quickly, whereas at farther ranges, you need to take into account motion, wind, etc.

Re: Back In The Saddle Again

Guys, it's been real difficult for me, with my current demands at work, to keep following this game. I'm sorry for my silence on the last weeks, but I was under the impression that it would soon normalize... which didn't.

In order not to hinder you with my delays, I guess it's better for me to drop out the game.

This time playing with you was quite nice, and I hope you all to keep having fun.

Re: Back In The Saddle Again

Before you leave, nicollo, I would like to say a few things

Firstly, should you decide to drop it, it has been a pleasure playing with you.
secondly, there is never any rush. We are all taking our time with this game and I for one do not mind having the time to think out my replies before acting.

Tldr; imho you are welcome to continue playing, as the time is part of a pbp rpg.

Re: Back In The Saddle Again

Like the others, I am sorry to see you go also Nicollo.

Come back to us, if and when you can - as Creswick alluded to PbP is a marathon in pace and not a sprint.  So, don't feel as though you need to post every day (Lord knows that I don't) and are letting everyone else down if you don't; so, don't let that be the reason you feel the need to leave.

That said, it is just a game and take care of yourself RL.  I hope that things ease up for you and that you don't get too burned out at work.  Take care of yourself and, if you don't get a chance to come back to us ... Thank you for the time you have spent RPing with us, it has been an honour and a pleasure.

Re: Back In The Saddle Again

Echoing what the others said... it's always sad when a player has to leave. You are welcome back any time.

Anyway, with what you've all said, it would seem as if you are still willing to continue with the game inspite of the attrition. I'm a stubborn Taurus, so I'm it in for the longhaul.

However, that does bring up a question: should I repost the recruitment thread and see if we can hustle up some new players?

Rrger in IC 'Shipping Out' Thread:
... Whatever happened, the swing went pretty wild and he's sure it did no damage.

OOC:
10:39, Today: Rrger rolled 15 using 2d6+6. damage Ogrun 5.
10:39, Today: Rrger rolled 12 using 1d20+9. to hit ogrun 5.

Spend a Grit Point, my large Trollkin friend!  That will totally make it count!  I mean, there is not need to waste that damage, Rrger...;)

Argh! I totally forgot I could do that. Next round since I can't go back and fix it this round. That probably would have cut the dude in half and strangled his partner with the entrails...

It's up the GM (and you, obviously), but I would say do it now... it is only you and me and Creswick and the GM.  So, make it fun (if, ya know, cutting a guy in half is fun) ... plus, we need all the help we can get.  We are sorely outnumbered here.

I'm baaaaaack!

If you haven't heard...

A thunderstorm swept through the area Thursday night and a lightning strike took out the router so that I didn't have any internet connection. Due to the vagaries of schedules and errands and whatnot, I wasn't able to replace it till today!

Barring any other problems, I should get caught up on my posts this evening.

There is not much that I can do different to what I have been doing in combat thus far sadly. I will definitely be looking to be a fair bit more active once we are out of combat though :)

Are we really down to two players and a gm? I'm glad the game is still going, I'm in a couple that seem to be dead.

Sorry, didn't mean to go awol.

Have been out of sorts for a bit, and tbh, all the combat is for creswick is load shoot reload shoot. not really much he can be all that active on.

Re: Back In The Saddle Again

I'm a little lost I think. Rrger just took out his last opponent, Dany has her last opponent on the ropes. The other survivors are climbing into the lifeboats and racing off assisted by our team mates. Cresswick and Bosh are below deck in the brig. Our captain and crew are back aboard the Resolute providing cover fire and generally staying out of our way. I don't know the name of the raider's ship but it's basically being held afloat by our own ship. Now we need to raid the hold, the gear locker, the weapon locker and the galley. Or as much as we can before the Resolute reverses course and lets her sink. Hopefully Cresswick and Bosh will finish looting the cabin before then.

Edit: Is that all about right?

Re: Back In The Saddle Again

Nicollo and Marco aren't actually helping the other ship's crew into life boats yet. They just put the life boats in the water. They have no idea how many of the crew are still alive. A few that are recovering are surrendering... if they can find anyone to surrender to.

What do you want to loot from the other ship?

Re: Back In The Saddle Again

He'll check below decks. The quartermaster might have some rare parts or tools down there and the rest of the team will probably get the helm and the cabins. If there's time he'll head for the galley, getting kind of hungry.
