Yup, that's likely. And the Dwarves/Asgard are "makers of wonders", so that fits in, too.

AAAAHH! I got sushi on my laptop! I thought I was better with chopsticks than I really am! WAAAAAAAH!!

What? Not much else interesting happening while we wait for the Jaffa to make a report. You know how hard it's gonna be to get soy sauce outta my keyboard?  ^_^

Do we all know that Ra is dead? Should we expect the Jaffa to know too, or are they majorly out of the loop?

Re: GM Notice
Yes, all the SG teams know that Ra is dead, since that was the lynchpin for the whole SG program.

You are outside the galaxy proper, and these planets, Dragon Lords and Jaffa have been cut off for several hundred years, at least, so they won't have learned anything from the last ten years.

Gotta say, I found it kind of funny that they want Rajip to appear menacing: "Height : 5' 5" Weight : 130 lbs." Haha, he's a little dude... but I guess, to a Tollian, most Tauri probably seem pretty physically menacing; such brutish primitives! :D

Just remember, Wolverine was originally on the short side, too. And the animal is considerably smaller than a bear, but no bear in its right mind would want to tangle with one.

Re: GM Notice
True, but bears know what a wolverine is; that's why they respect it, not because of how it looks. Kinda the same thing with Wolverine; there's constantly big dumb dudes challenging him because they aren't aware that he has adamantium claws and ultra-regenerative abilities.

Jaffa are kind of a question mark on that note; they definitely seem to have a physical, brute-force cultural perspective on danger; bigger and stronger is scarier (consider how they reacted to the idea of replacing their big, scary, staffs with the Tauri sub-guns; until Carter cut a tree in half and cut a rope with it, they thought the idea was ridiculous)... but they also know something about tactics, at least to an extent... so a sniper appearing out of nowhere at a range where staff weapons couldn't effectively reach (since they seem to have about the same range as sub-guns) might put the fear of God (so to speak) into them, at least the smarter ones.

No matter; I only thought it was funny at first glance; certainly short man syndrome is an important factor in intimidation anyhow! ;)

Apologies for the delay. Been mostly without internet the past 4 days. No problem according to the server, yet only had internet for a few hours in the afternoon anyway.

Seems to be straightened out, but we'll see if it lasts overnight.

Re: GM Notice
There's going to be a new Stargate series, Stargate: Origins, a flashback with Catherine Langford on an early Stargate journey. It looks to be the movies-verse, because it would wreck series continuity.

Re: GM Notice
*sigh* More problems.

Apologies once again for the delay. Last Friday, internet was out and continued for half of Saturday. Monday I picked up a virus/malware that screwed up Windows Edge browser, and it would no longer load anything from the internet. Didn't know what the problem was, though, so I put it into the computer shop. Turns out, Edge is so intertwined with Windows now that I have to reload Windows, which could wipe out a lot of my material.

Also, I just discovered that, somewhere along the way, I've had a lot of files deleted. May be more than the ones I've found so far.

And then RPoL was down for a couple hours yesterday.

Ouch. I've had too many unhappy experiences with viruses and those woes, so I sympathise. Good luck getting it all sorted out.

Still alive!

As bad as Hurricane Irma was, it wasn't all that bad. Almost no building damage has been reported, not even broken windows, but signs and lots and lots of trees have been uprooted.

15 million people without power. It's starting to come back online now, but probably won't have it at the house for another 2-3 days. Posting from a friend's workplace, which never actually lost power because it was part of the evacuation route.

All we had were a few roof leaks, and the backyard fence got blown down.

10.5 days without power!

Lost power on the 9th just around noon as the hurricane passed by.

No power, no AC, no lights, no stove/microwave/toaster oven, no hot water, no TV, no computer, no modem, no internet.

Florida. Summer. Hot. Humid. Sat around in the dark and sweated. Didn't sleep well, didn't eat much.

Couldn't go anywhere since most places were also without power.

For a few days, gas was scarce, because most gas stations didn't have power, and so couldn't pump gas. The few that either had power or emergency generators had long lines and then ran out of gas. Tried getting by on ice, but so was everyone else, and ice quickly sold out.

Finally got power back about 8:30 last night.

So now we're cleaning up the mess.

It'll probably be another day or two before I get caught up on all my games.

11 days without power really sucks... but at least you weren't injured! Hopefully damage to your property was minimal as well. Now that you have AC back, get some rest and get your life back in order; I'm sure all of us can wait. :)

I'm back... and having seen how much even on a week away my husband and daughter both spent messing on their smartphones I doubt they'd cope with that long an outage!

Shot In The Dark 2
Apologies for the delay... again.

I sort of took a vacation... though it was more like a time-out. While I was waiting for Kaspar to rewrite his post, I found myself needing to recharge my gaming batteries. That usually just involves on me working on some project on my computer. Then, as usual, the days just slip away.
