SSG. nowadays it's usually pronounced like sar'ent, instead of the sarg you hear from older films, but that's just random facts. actual rank is staff sergeant, which is E6 in modern US army terms.

Pronunciation varies. I've been called 'Sarge' - around 1990, when I was one :)

I've also heard 'Sarnt'... the 'g' gets kinda lost.

British Army, 1986-1990 - with the Reserves/Cadets, doing basic training. Bit oddball, the then Cheshire Regiment (i.e. infantry) long before there was any thought of having females in the infantry (player is female, you see). But I could do what I did... :)

  I served in the US Navy from 1986-1992 on a fast attack submarine (USS Spadefish SSN668) as a nuclear power technician.

US Army, 2008-2010 as 25B/11X. Spent most of my time doing training, but managed to fit in 2 deployments.

Posting in the non-mission threads can continue if you want, but mostly it was to fill time while new players finished their characters. That's done now.

On the other hand, those posts were also meant to give a sense of the base around you. Things go on there while you are away, there are other teams that come and go, etc.

Fixed for real this time. As the GM, I see everything so it doesn't always register with me when it's off.

Apologies for my lack of posting, but I've been sick this past week. It was bad enough Monday that I should have gone to the ER, according to my doctor, but by the time I saw my doctor, it had mostly passed. However, it did take its toll on me. My brain's been a brick and my body feels like it got run over by a herd of elephants.

I honestly didn't expect it to last the whole week, but then my car broke down on the highway on Friday on the way back from the doctor, dragging it out further.

My brain finally came back on-line yesterday, but body is still sore. I should start getting caught up on my posting later today.
