Oh, I've mostly worked through it. It looks like the computer viruses were just scams. I ran Defender full scan (for some reason, it had gotten turned off) and that got rid of one of them. The other one seems to have attached itself to Google Chrome somehow, so I just uninstalled Chrome and that seems to have gotten rid of it.

As for the cold, it's lingering but not too bad. Suck down a glass of Nyquil before I go to bed, so I'm mostly resting okay.

Probably have to pop down to the morgue to see if they have a spare brain, though...

I noticed it a while ago, and think I mentioned it before when the Norse-sounding god was mentioned. The Futhark runes were just a third reason why Hilda would be helpful there. :)

Hilda's already called Vasandra a dark elf (svartálfr or myrkálfr), so I imagine dwarves and elves are different in this universe. Of course, Hilda could be wrong.

Though Asgard in their true form would be the best match for the mythological dwarves. Like the Norse saw undisguised Asgard and thought they were dwarves.

Yes, all the SG teams know that Ra is dead, since that was the lynchpin for the whole SG program.

You are outside the galaxy proper, and these planets, Dragon Lords and Jaffa have been cut off for several hundred years, at least, so they won't have learned anything from the last ten years.

Gotta say, I found it kind of funny that they want Rajip to appear menacing: "Height : 5' 5" Weight : 130 lbs." Haha, he's a little dude... but I guess, to a Tollian, most Tauri probably seem pretty physically menacing; such brutish primitives! :D

True, but bears know what a wolverine is; that's why they respect it, not because of how it looks. Kinda the same thing with Wolverine; there's constantly big dumb dudes challenging him because they aren't aware that he has adamantium claws and ultra-regenerative abilities.

Jaffa are kind of a question mark on that note; they definitely seem to have a physical, brute-force cultural perspective on danger; bigger and stronger is scarier (consider how they reacted to the idea of replacing their big, scary, staffs with the Tauri sub-guns; until Carter cut a tree in half and cut a rope with it, they thought the idea was ridiculous)... but they also know something about tactics, at least to an extent... so a sniper appearing out of nowhere at a range where staff weapons couldn't effectively reach (since they seem to have about the same range as sub-guns) might put the fear of God (so to speak) into them, at least the smarter ones.

No matter; I only thought it was funny at first glance; certainly short man syndrome is an important factor in intimidation anyhow! ;)

Apologies for the delay. Been mostly without internet the past 4 days. No problem according to the server, yet only had internet for a few hours in the afternoon anyway.

Seems to be straightened out, but we'll see if it lasts overnight.

There's going to be a new Stargate series, Stargate: Origins, a flashback with Catherine Langford on an early Stargate journey. It looks to be the movies-verse, because it would wreck series continuity.

Apologies once again for the delay. Last Friday, internet was out and continued for half of Saturday. Monday I picked up a virus/malware that screwed up Windows Edge browser, and it would no longer load anything from the internet. Didn't know what the problem was, though, so I put it into the computer shop. Turns out, Edge is so intertwined with Windows now that I have to reload Windows, which could wipe out a lot of my material.

Also, I just discovered that, somewhere along the way, I've had a lot of files deleted. May be more than the ones I've found so far.

And then RPoL was down for a couple hours yesterday.

Ouch. I've had too many unhappy experiences with viruses and those woes, so I sympathise. Good luck getting it all sorted out.

This may qualify as the longest elevator ride ever.

As bad as Hurricane Irma was, it wasn't all that bad. Almost no building damage has been reported, not even broken windows, but signs and lots and lots of trees have been uprooted.

15 million people without power. It's starting to come back online now, but probably won't have it at the house for another 2-3 days. Posting from a friend's workplace, which never actually lost power because it was part of the evacuation route.

All we had were a few roof leaks, and the backyard fence got blown down.
