Kaspar, don't forget to roll your balance check. If it's not done, I will do it myself but dices are usually not good with me. :p

Re: OOC : Relaxation room

We certainly need to know the dimensions of the rift, GMs. Can't it be simply jumped across?

Re: OOC : Relaxation room

The Keeper:
The rift was not really large. In fact, it was just its end that swallowed the DHD. It was about 15 feet large and was running for something like 50 feet after the gate so it would be easy to get around it. It was more a matter of bad luck than anything else that it hit the DHD.

When Vasandra used her flashlight to try to find the DHD, she was able to see a red reflection. It could have been the DHD but someone would have to go down the rift to be sure. She could estimate that the red reflection came from around 65 feet in the rift and the gap was large enough so someone could climb down to check.

Do you mean the rift is 15 feet wide (from side to side) or 15 feet deep (from top to bottom)?

And do you mean the DHD is buried around 65 deep?

Re: OOC : Relaxation room

Sorry if I was not clear enough. The rift is 15 feet wide so you can easily make a bridge with something and it runs for 50 feet after your place so you can also bypass it. You don't know how deep it is exactly but yeah, the DHD is "burried" 65 feet down your position.

Re: OOC : Relaxation room

So, how long of a rope are we talking about, 10, 20 feet each?

Consider that the rope in your survival kit is long enough for this task. :)

Hilda, I can insure you that you will not need a shovel to get the DHD back. Don't bother going back to the village for that. :)

Re: OOC : Relaxation room

Well, I figured it was buried, as we couldn't get a very good look at the DHD. We've got the time to search for equipment, anyway.

Re: OOC : Relaxation room

Or even better yet use Chrome, it does not start with all of fire fox's bells and whistles by default but it hardly ever crashes and uses far fewer system resources to do the same task.

Is it only the Internet connection-related problem or does it happen also without IE on?

BTW, sorry 'bout forgetting the team leader, Kaspar.

Re: OOC : Relaxation room

No worries, Rajip. Even though I didn't write it up this way, Kaspar would have been the last of the Team to arrive at the Stargate, and he would have been huffing-and-puffing from the run.  And, when he got there, you were already issuing the same orders he would have.  I just "rubber-stamped" them.
