I don't think so. I think they've just been waiting on me. Carter has always been a bit... slow on the posting.

Oh, come on, Sarah! With all the languages she knows, that's the best you can do! :-)

Merry Christmas in Goa'uld! Latin! Mayan! Ancient Greek! Tollan! Ancient!

I suspected they'd all 'translate' as "Smile and spend lots of money!"

Hope everyone had a Merry Whatever!

I managed:

Buon Natale
Joyeaux Noel
Felice Navidad
Mele Kalikimaka

I watched one of the Christmas movies starring Howard Hessman who played a character that was going around wishing everyone Merry Christmas in different languages. Can't remember most of them, though.

Other than that, you can just make things up for the alien languages...

Ooga-booga Nooga (Caveman; of course, everything pretty much translates to that...)

"Harumpf!  There wasn't a trace of Polish in that statement, Gunny." Kaspar says, returning to his Chicagoland, midwestern accent, "I can, and have, walk around the streets of Sydney and be taken as a native Ozzie."

Speaking as an Australian, no, you wouldn't, and don't ever do that again. :p

Aw, crap.  Hoist on my own petard--and I have one, you know!

Right, I got a couple minutes in the morning.  I'll have a few trusted friends come over as witnesses, and I'll commit seppuku...

Or, I could just hit myself in the face with a shovel until I knock myself out...hmm?

After we get this rock tossed through (or not), we aught to see if we can shut off the portal from our end. If these things have limited power then we should conserve it right?

In reply to Tate Ames (msg # 943):

Oooooo...very good points.  We should, indeed, see if we can shut down from this side, the portal activated from the other side--and then, if/when it is shut down, we need to double check that we can re-open the portal from the Lunar Henge, back down to the Planetary Henge.

And conserving power is always a good thing.

Hilda was able to bring her water-bottle on a stick back through the portal, so presumably it is two-way.

Though the one-way stargates have never made much physical sense: halfway through, your body is already shifting blood and such back through the portal. If it was truly one-way at a subatomic level, your body was dissolve as it goes through, owing to the severed electromagnetic force no longer holding mass together.

Anyway, I propose we call it Moonhenge. :D
