Character Generation Rules

A revised character sheet is now up for all your characters under the Character Details tab. If you've already made up a character on another form, don't sweat it. Just post it to your character sheet. You can fill this one out on-line, or copy it and fill it out off-line.

ABILITY SCORES
Use the following numbers: 16, 16, 14, 14, 12, 12 (assign them in whichever order you want).
This way, ability adjustments can wind up giving you an 18 and a 10. I’d rather not have anyone starting with a score higher than 18 or lower than 10.

EDUCATION and INSPIRATION
Education: This is a general knowledge check. If you want to know something that's out of your skill set, this is the way to do it. You make an Education check, which is a d20 roll plus your Education modifier.
Education modifier = Int Mod + Level.
Inspiration: Whenever you are on a mission, and run into a situation where you don't know what to do next, you can spend an Action Die to make an Inspiration check. There is no set DC as this always succeeds, but the higher you roll, the more detailed your inpiration will be. An Inspiration check is a d20 roll plus your Inspiration modifier.
Inspiration modifier = Wis Mod + Level.

MACRO-SPECIALTY/Specialty and/or MACRO-SPECIES
You need to choose a Specialty or Species. The Macro part gives all the sub-specialties the same ability adjustments.

AIR FORCE: Air Force Officer, Air Force Technician, Enlisted Air Force Recruit, or Pararescue

ARMY: Army Officer, Army Ranger, Army Technician, or Enlisted Army Recruit

MARINES: Enlisted Marine Recruit, Force Reconnaissance, Marine Officer, or Marine Technician

NAVY: Enlisted Navy Recruit, Naval Officer, Naval Technician, or SEAL

NID: NID Officer, Area 51 Infiltrator, or Rogue Stargate Team Member

Civilian Specialist

Diplomatic Corps

Engineering Corps

ASGARD: Asgard Fleet Officer, Asgard Geneticist, or Protected Planets Enforcer

JAFFA: Horus Guard, Serpent Guard, Setesh Guard, or Shol'va Rebel

NEAR-HUMAN: Prmitive Society, Modern Society, or Advanced Society

REOL: Alien Observer, Fugitive Reol, or Reol Mole

TOK'RA: Tok'ra High Commander, Tok'ra Undercover Operative, or Tok'ra Warrior

CLASS
While the Specialties and Species define what you are, Class defines HOW you do it. The classes available are: Explorer, Guardian, Pointman, Scientist, Scout and Soldier.

SKILLS
Allocate your skill points to your skill list.
Humans and near-humans gain +4 skill points at 1st level, and +1 skill points at every additional level.

FEATS
Choose your feats (other than the ones that Specialty or Species gives you).
Everyone gets a 1st level feat.
Humans and near-humans also get a bonus feat.

APPEARANCE
The usual: height, weight, hair color and style (bald, bearded, shaggy, whatever), eye color and skin color (white, pale, tan, brown, etc.). You should also use this area to note scars or tattoos. Your avatar may not always show important features, so this will help.

BACKGROUND
We're just looking for a paragraph or so explaining your life before SGC and how you came to be on the team.

PERSONALITY
You can go into as much detail as you want, but all we're looking for is just a few tags, such as: reserved, outgoing, joker, impatient, etc.

GEAR

Team Bundle: Everybody gets the team bundle
Unmarked weatherproof 'sea bag' (to store bundle)
2 sets standard BDUs (black, sand, jungle or snow)
   Combat boots
Baseball caps (plains, forest, swamp, desert, ice and urban)
   Load-bearing harness (web gear)
   Compass, magnetic
   Canteen
   Flashlight
   GDO
   MREs (1 day)
   Survival Knife
   Survival Kit
   Tactical deployment vest
   Tactical radio
FN P90 with standard shoulder sling and 60 rounds of 5.7x28mm FMJ

Duty Bundle: This gear is issue to you based on your role and function within the team. Types of bundles include:
Aquatic Operation Bundle
Archaeologist Bundle
Arctic Operation Bundle
Bodyguard Bundle
Commander Bundle
Communications Specialist Bundle
Computer Specialist Bundle
Counter-Intelligence Bundle
Demolitions Bundle
EOD Bundle
Forest Scout Bundle
Mechanic Bundle
Medic Bundle
Observer Bundle
Researcher Bundle
Surveyor Bundle
Technician Bundle
Trail Leader Bundle
Translator Bundle

Mission Bundle: This is a variable bundle issued to the team based on whatever mission the team is going on. In the case of SG-X1 and SG-X2, it'll mostly be dependent on the environment they go to.

Personal Bundle: Everyone can get one of these bundles for free. It represents your life up to this point. If you don't have access to the rules, I can list them without the details for you, then put up the details when you choose. There are just too many of them. It's mostly about background and personality anyway.

Weapons Bundle: Various weapons bundles are issued based on your role in the team.

Miscellaneous Equipment: Anything else you want you have to buy separately through Gear Picks and Resource Points. At the start of each mission, you get a number of Gear Picks based on your class, modified by Charisma modifier, rank, feats and class abilities. Resource Points are for requesting special equipment..
